*SIGH* Cozzi Cove is my first foray into Joe Cosentino's writing and you can now call me a firm fan.

As I've just come straight from reading book 1, visiting Cozzi Cove is like coming home or revisiting a beloved holiday destination. I know everyone, by now, who is a permanent fixture and I sincerely hope that Cosentino continues this series forever. You could never run out of ideas for it.

As before, the characters are a hoot. They're a mixture of funny, quirky, sad, lonely individuals who come together to make a riotously brilliant cast.

Potential couples are:

Cal and Michael – As the owner of Cozzi Cove, Cal has all the same responsibility of the previous book. Only, this time, with a one-year romance blossoming between him and Michael, things begin to fall apart. Cal feels a connection with guest George, which causes jealousy from Michael. Who, in turn, feels a pull towards his Photography partner Carlo, thus building another bridge of jealousy and insecurity from Cal.

Gil and Bruce – Gil is the only guest of these two, at Cozzi Cove. There because of an illness and having lost a lot in his life, Gil is prepared to end it all at the beautiful location of Cozzi Cove. Until he spots a vision from the past – a 'vision' of his college love, Bruce. When he finally meets the man he saw at the cove, everything begins to change.

Bruce Jr and Colby – Bruce Jr is the son of Gil's college love and knows nothing of Gil's past relationship with his father. Thankfully, Gil is rejuvenated by Bruce Jr's presence and helps him face the two families who don't accept his relationship with Colby.

Dennis and Zeus – Dennis is the high-profile Broadway producer, recently split from an eighteen year relationship with Rodney, his biggest star. To try to patch things up – and make Rodney jealous – he brings escort Zeus with him to Cozzi Cove, with only a week to mend fences.

Rodney and Jarek – Rodney is much more highly strung than any other character, as well as being very melodramatic. Bringing along his personal trainer and new partner, Jarek, he's there to rest up after two years in a Broadway show that he'd lost interest in.

Sam and Chase – Sam and Chase are the best of friends and have been their whole lives. With Sam infatuated with their friend Raul, Chase is there playing the 'lover', to make him jealous.

Raul – As the best friend of two gay guys, with a gay brother, no one believes that Raul is straight. Especially when he works out at a gay gym, is surrounded by gay men and agrees to go on holiday to a gay resort, with his two gay best friends. Yet, Sam's instincts are that Raul will fall in love at Cozzi Cove. And Sam has never been wrong before.

Hunter – As a straight woman, in love with gay romance novels, Hunter stays at Cozzi Cove to finally meet gay men 'off page'. Sparking an unlikely friendship with the ever wonderful and flirty Connor, she finally builds her confidence enough to go out and find herself a Will to her Grace.

George – Another singleton, George is one of the few Cozzi Cove guest not interested in falling in love. Despite feeling a spark with Cal, which proves confusing and sparks jealousy for all involved, George is actually at Cozzi Cove for one reason – to reveal a secret that will have far reaching consequences.

Overall, the story and world building was as fantastic as the previous story. I can't wait for what comes next and to see how Cal changes and improves the facilities of Cozzi Cove. Without revealing anything that will spoil the story for you, I'll say this:
The whole thing with Michael and Cal had my emotions in turmoil, screaming at the book and praying that things would work out properly.
I was worried Gil's fate would be so similar to Mark's that I was on edge for most of the book.

Again, the story deals with some serious issues, in a way that isn't preachy or pushy – suicidal thoughts, illness, homophobia, threesomes, cheating, escorts and inter-racial romances. Each theme is explored in a light, accepting way that never makes the reader feel uncomfortable or like we're being lectured to.

Favourite Quote:

“He kissed Cal's wide nose.
“Hey, your lips are covered in honey.”
“So they tell me.” Michael continued eating.
“Does your study buddy tell you that?”
Michael raised his eyes to the mermaid-shaped lighting fixture as if gathering patience. “Carlo is my partner.”
“Really?”
“In my advanced photography class.”
“Is that what they call it at State?”
“Maybe in your day.” Michael's eyes gleamed devilishly. “Hey, did they have college back then?”
“I'll put you over my knee, young man.”
“Promises, promises.””

““You must have studied dramatics at the college this year.”
Connor batted the long lashes over his sky-blue eyes. “How else could I have dated all the gay dudes?”
Cal laughed. “I'm sure you dated them.”
“I did.” Connor revealed his pearly-white teeth. “It was the football team last year who went straight, pardon the pun, for the touchdown.”
Cal put his arm around the boy's wide shoulders and walked him to the front porch. “Please get straight to work so everything is ready when the guests arrive.”
Connor said with the eagerness of a child at Christmas, “I can't wait to see our pick of the litter.”
“Look, don't touch.””

Inside Cozzi Cove (Moving Forward) by Joe Cosentino, readers have the world's best novel comprised of drama, sparks, jealousy, and hot sexy men. For those you love a romance between two males then this is definitely for you. Love is easy for some and hard for others, it's messy and complicated...readers will see just how tangled up the hot testosterone and sparks fly in this tale. The Cozzi Cove (Moving Forward) is the second book of another amazing series brilliantly well-written for readers' entertainment by Joe Cosentino.

Imagine a beautiful getaway where the hot, sexy, and wealthy gay men go...it's a place where there's never a dull moment. Every page of this new title brings readers nothing but excitement, intrigue, and an intensity that will burn away the night's quiet. Most novels offer readers one journey in which readers travel upon, however, readers are brought not one but several journeys that will leave them breathless and hooked. As with all of Joe Cosentino's novels, humor comes in abundance and fits in perfectly with all of this stunning characters. Cozzi Cove is full of couples that are tested. There are a lot of issues each man faces within Cozzi Cove, the way they deal it and what choices they will make can have lasting effects that can be both good and bad...Joe sweeps his readers into his characters lives by creating realistic characters with real issues. It's easy to get lost in it all. The book automatically captures your heart from page one and forever holds it. After reading the story readers will be begging for the next grand adventure. Funny, heart melting, and swoon worthy, readers will finish reading this in one sitting. I loved reading this riveting tale, and I highly recommend it to readers everywhere.

In the magical world of Cozzi Cove, a vacation paradise for gay men in a very gay-friendly town anything and everything can happen. It isn't all sweetness though. There is jealousy, heartache, illness, lost love, new love, broken relationships, and of course some hot man-sex.
With seven bungalows there are guests of all sorts. This time, we even have a cute female that wants to live in the world of her romance novels. There are secrets to reveal, tension in Cal and Michaels relationship, and of course Connor for a bit of humor. One of the guests comes to end it all after the loss of his husband and being fired for being gay and finding out he has Parkinson until he sees his first love swimming nude in the Cove at night...just like he was in College.
Moving forward is like eight mini stories in one and each is as good as a full story. Plus we have the townspeople as well. Lots of fabulous characters of all persuasions. The story is so fast-paced and engrossing that it's over before you know it and makes you want more.

If you like interracial romance, angst, a touch of humor, jealousy, personal trainers, architects, beach resorts and lots of sexy men you will love this story.

"Sam returned the kiss. Feeling like metal to a magnet, Sam let himself go and threw his arms around Chase's lean, firm back. 'No matter what happens...can we always be best pals?' 'Always.'"

4 secretive stars!! Definitely my favorite in the series!

I really liked book one, but I must say book two is now my favorite. I loved the intertwined characters and differing story lines! I don't think I could pick a favorite of the characters, they all have their own quirks that I fell in love with!! You kind of get sucked into each ones story and connections they have with each other. I don't know if there will be more to the series, but I'm hoping so!

I absolutely love this series and loved all of the romance that happens at Cozzi Cove. You don’t just have one romance you have seven (really eight when you count Cal & Michael). This book was very well written and the romance just really gets to you all told by Joe Cosentino a wonderful writer. In this book you again get everything from first love to established love and even new love to some who strives to end it all. We get to spend the time reading this book and just immerse us into the story. This book also had humor in it and I love an author that can inject humor in just the right places. Joe Cosentino is fast becoming a must read author for me, as the books I’ve read so far has not disappointed me. I can’t wait to read more from Cozzi Cove.

Another great book from Joe Cosentino. This series is fast becoming a firm favourite of mine. A year on from book one of the Cozzi Cove series, book two begins with the start of another summer season at Cal Cozzi's gay friendly bungalows. A new group of guests, with their troubles and secrets, arrive for the Cove to work its magic on.

The first guest to arrive is George, bungalow seven, who was born in Cozzi Cove, is newly single and is returning in search of answers and with a big secret. Cal feels oddly at ease and attracted to George but not in a sexual way. Why is that and why does Cal feel the need to drag his sister, Taylor, back to the cove as a result? Cal’s young boyfriend Michael has a new study partner, Carlos, and Cal is jealous, but Michael is also jealous of the obvious attraction and friendship between Cal and George.

The next guests are Sam and Chase and their 'straight' friend Raul, bungalow five, but are Sam and Chase really together? Sam has a crush on Raul and is convinced he’s gay but he also has a plan for him. Next is a straight woman, Hunter, bungalow six, who forms an instant bond with, 'maid', Connor when she tells him she's an avid reader of gay romance and wants to meet, and be friends with, gay men like those in the books she loves to read. Then she meets Raul on the beach and assumes he's gay. Will Raul and Hunter be honest with each other? Next comes Jarek and his older boyfriend, actor Rodney, who are in bungalow one but they’re followed closely by Rodney's ex Dennis, also his producer, and Zeus, an escort, who Dennis 'met online'. They are in bungalow two. But why are they here at the same resort? Arriving late is Gil, bungalow four, acting strangely. Gil has a tragic past and sees no future for himself but his life is turned around by the couple staying in bungalow three and some memories from his past.

As with book one, book two contains an interwoven set of awesome, emotional and often funny tales about the guests and residents of Cozzi Cove. All the characters need the magic that Cozzi Cove weaves around people’s lives, and it’s healing touch, but will they all get what they need? By the time the guests are ready to check out at the end of the week everything will have changed for them, and for some of the residents too. As with book one, I became deeply immersed in these stories and didn't want the book to end so thank goodness there's a book three!

****I would like to thank the author for the privilege and opportunity of reading this ARC. My review is an honest opinion of the book****

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

As the story unfolds, we find out that Cal and Michael are still together as the new summer rental season heats up, however they have hit a rough patch in their relationship. Despite their love for one another, the differences in their ages may just be too great for their love to survive. To be completely honest with readers, I have to admit that the problems between Cal and Michael had me wanting to throw my book across the room – especially after watching them fight for a relationship with one another in the first book. Without giving away any spoilers here, I will say that in the end, everything is as it should be – but it’s a bumpy path along the beach we have to follow first that is written in the typical Joe Cosentino style of twists and turns!

As with the first in the series, readers will find that there are characters that you just can’t get enough of, and characters that you wish had missed their reservations. Hands down, my favorite guests were Sam/Chase/Raul and my favorite scenes were when we are treated to Connor and his antics that had me in stitches.

Unfortunately, my least favorite part of the story was the whole Cal and Michael story line. Parts of it just didn’t sit right with me, and I had a hard time equating the characters I met and fell in love with in the first story being the same two characters I was seeing in the second story.

Cozzi Cove: Moving Forward
Joe Cosentino

Cal has a whole new set of vacationers in Moving Forward and a new set of problems with his lover.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

With a new set of guest we have all new issues to be resolved. Some are lighthearted and funny, while others dig deeper. I did love the characters more in Bouncing Back; Moving Forward has a completely different feel for me.

Gil was deep and I was so proud of his decisions in the end. Hunter I just plain didn't get. Cal (still my fav) dealt with several issues with a surprise twist. Raul was just adorable.

Cal watched a formation of seagulls soar through the cerulean sky. 'This place is perfect.'
'Just like you and me together.'"

Cozzi Cove is a special place where magic happens and the guest find love, sometimes in the most surprising places.

Guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Joe Cosentino is a new author to me but I really enjoy his story telling. I read and loved Cozzi Cove: Bouncing Back, so I snatched up my copy of Cozzi Cove: Moving Forward shortly after its release date.

The characters are so enmeshed in their own drama they make for a fun, humorous read, and they somehow come across as people you might meet in everyday life. People you’d invite to a dinner party. This book has a handful of characters who all get their own romance, and the telling will leave you smiling and laughing for days.

I’m ready for more Joe!

I just finished reading Moving forward book 2 in the series and it was just as good as boom 1 if not a little better.

Michael and Cal are still together but they have hit a bit of a rough patch after a year of being together. Cal is still having some issues with the age difference but in this book Michael starts to feel the difference in their age also.

As like book 1 this one has a set of new guest with new issues to deal with. Some of the guests deal with crushes, other deal with life and how life can throw you a curve ball at each turn, to another having never dealt with the issues from his past, to another having to figure out what is best for him even if it means choosing his boyfriend over his family.... And that is just to state a few.

Once again Joes did an amazing job bringing up everyday issues that people face in his book and having a graceful way of going about the characters figure out their problems and showing them that love could be right around the corner whether it is a new love or a love that is from the past but came back. Joe has an amazing way of writing his books to make you feel the emotions the characters are feeling and he has a way of making you route for all the characters even if he may not be the nicest of people.

Another great book and can't wait for another book in this series

We revisit the magical shore of Cozzi Cove one year after the first book. Hal and Michael are moving forward with their relationship hitting a few potholes. Meanwhile the bungalows are filled with new guests, each with their own issues and goals. The stories all intertwine like a beautifully designed plaid quilt, with joys, sorrows, surprises, and lots of Joe Cosentino's brilliant humor. And of course, Cal's sister, Taylor, breezes through like a hurricane hitting the coast. She is my favorite character.

This is another winner from the versatile Joe Cosentino. If you liked the first book, Cozzi Cove: Bouncing Back, you will love book 2!

Another hot summer week, another set of stories from Cozzi Cove. And once again, while I enjoyed some of the stories and loved the idea of all the interlocking lives and small dramas, I really didn’t enjoy the writing style or the slightly sneering tone.

Camp writing can be fun and playful without being mean. At times, this felt really mean. It is hard to attach emotionally with caricatures and I didn’t feel that many, if any, characters developed beyond stock caricatures.

Once again, there are some fun, silly moments and some more moving scenes but this will be the last of the Cozzi Cove books for me. As far as literary gay seaside escapades go, I’ll stick to Bluewater Bay or Lobster Cove.

The beautiful scenery and all around magical quality of Cozzi Cove is hard to resist. Each of the couples, as well as the singles, staying in Cozzi feels the effects of the gorgeous and tranquil surroundings. The resort is a safe haven for these men, and it is exciting to see them take full advantage. This is a fun, often lighthearted story, whose sweet sexy vibe makes for a great escape.
