Zeke May has spent the past two years recovering from an IED attack and trying to adjust to life as a civilian. The veteran hiring program at denim empire Riley O’Brien & Co. offers a new beginning. The only problem is the high cost of housing in San Francisco, and Margo Lange could be the perfect solution.

Now that Margo has completed veterinary school, she’s ready to fulfill her dream of living in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, she’s drowning in student loan debt and the only places she can afford are dumps. Luckily, one of her uncle’s Army buddies needs a roommate.

Although Zeke’s place is a perfect fit for Margo’s budget, he is not what she expects. He’s much younger than her uncle, and he’s melt-your-panties hot. She doesn’t want to fall for him, but it doesn’t take her long to realize that Zeke is the perfect fit for her, regardless of their age gap. Too bad he’s so obviously still in love with his ex-wife…

This is the second book that i read in the series. Its quite a nice novella. Due to the lenght, all of in this book is insta lust and insta love.

Miss Sutton has this talent writing a very good delicious short story with the right chemistry and sweet banters. I wish that this book can be more than novella.

I love Zeke. He is such a mysterious man. Underneath it all, he is amazing person. There is that sweet vulnerability on him tht tugs me. I love a hero who can show how vulnerable he is.

Overall i enjoy this book very much.

The romance was just the right blend of funny, tender, sexy and real. I love low angst romance which is all about the couple.

Watching Zeke and Margo fall in love is a pure joy. I adore the Zeke is not a man whore. His not a man whoreness is beyond hot. They become great friends. There are things each needs to work through but in the end they are meant to be.

Love all the tropes are done so well but the writing is so crisp and the dialogue is lovely with all these little gems studded through the character development like the heroine's thrift shopping.

The only thing that kept it from being a five star for me was that I wanted more of an epilogue though what I got was good, I just want more lushness in a final chapter or more epilogue.

I highly recommend. And it was free on Amazon as a gateway drug to this author. So, go get hooked!

Oh, wow. ZEKE! I can't tell you how much I loved this sexy novella—although I'm certainly going to try...

I've have the good fortune to review two other books in this series—Coming Apart at the Seams, and the upcoming Hanging By a Thread. I enjoyed them both, HBaT immensely. I thought nothing would top my love for Cal O'Brien, but Zeke May definitely gives him a run for his money. (Although, the little moments with Cal in The Perfect Fit just reinforced my adoration of the O'Brien heir.)

This novella is wonderful; not too long or short, paced liked a dream—this amazing slow build and burn of two people coming together, first in friendship and then, ultimately, in love. They're so right together. The Perfect Fit is the perfect title for the love story of Margo and Zeke.

I adored BOTH of these characters. Solemn Zeke, who didn't feel worthy, and sunny Margo, who was just so loving. I ached for these people—when Margo was distraught, so was I. When Zeke was worried, so was I. And when they were turned on and burning up the pages of my Kindle, I was...whew, looking for a cold shower or SOMETHING. *fans self*

I can't recommend this novella highly enough. If you're new to the series, rest assured, it's a total standalone—although I definitely recommend picking up the earlier books, just because they’re fun. I, myself, will be grabbing book one as soon as I hit submit on this review.

And if you HAVE been lucky enough to meet the Riley O'Brien & Co. crew, then settle in with Zeke and Margo, and know you're in for a hell of a good read. ~ Beth, 5 Go-go stars

This book is just a novella in this series and follows Zeke and Margo as roommates. This book is just sooo cute.

Margo aka Go-go as Zeke calls her falls in love with him in a heart-bit. She is a vet in a new series and needs a low rent. They spend a lot time together and she already sees a future with him but........

Zeke as in a other hand is an ex-militar and he does sees himself marry again or falling in love with a much younger(just 11 years) woman who makes him hot and thinking naughty thoughts about her.

The plot is simple but they build their relationship to actually been involved more.

My review cross-posted from Wit and Sin: http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2016/03...

There are some stories that just make you happy when you read them. The Perfect Fit is exactly that kind of tale. Jenna Sutton has delivered a story that’s so bright, charming, and heartwarming that I couldn’t put it down.

Margo is a ray of sunshine. Her energy and optimism jump off the page and she simply dazzles everyone, Zeke included. Margo is a veterinarian who has always wanted to move to San Francisco, but the cost of living when combined with her student loan debt, is staggering. She needs a roommate, and luckily for her, her uncle’s old Army buddy has an apartment and could use a roommate as well. Zeke is eleven years older than Margo, but it’s the physical and emotional toll war has taken on him that makes him feel like he’s decades older. Zeke is strong, steady, and self-aware. Until he was injured he had no plans of leaving the Army. Now he’s adapting to a new life across the country that’s completely different than what he was used to. What Zeke needs is laughter and love in his life, and Margo brings that to him. Zeke puts up a few barriers trying to do what he thinks is right for himself and Margo, but I was rooting for he and Margo to knock down each obstacle. Both of them are likeable, hardworking people with big hearts. They’re not without flaws and vulnerabilities, which makes them relatable, and I honestly wish they were real just so I could be friends with them.

From the start, Zeke and Margo click as roommates, but the longer they live together, the closer they become. Add in their mutual attraction, and it’s clear that they won’t be able to resist one another for long. The sexual tension between them sizzles, and Ms. Sutton knows how to crank up the heat. But what really grabbed me was the honest emotional connection between Margo and Zeke. The two of them are truly a perfect fit; they’re good for each other and they make a fantastic, compelling couple.

The Perfect Fit is set in the world of Ms. Sutton’s Riley O’Brien & Co. series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. That being said, it was fun seeing more of the company and Cal O’Brien’s small supporting role had me eager to read his book. All in all, this is a fabulous novella that should charm any contemporary romance fan. Zeke and Margo are so appealing that the moment I finished their story I wanted to read it all over again. I loved The Perfect Fit and I can’t wait to read more Riley O’Brien & Co. stories!

Zeke is an odd one, he tries to do the right thing, or what he thinks is right and it ends up being wrong. I liked the relationship between Margo and Zeke, the girl knows how to voice her opinions:
She huffed in obvious frustration. “Because I’m in your bed, Zeke, and you haven’t even noticed that I’m almost naked.” Glancing down, he eyed her breasts. Her tight black camisole barely contained the plump mounds.
“I noticed,” he assured her.
At times Zeke would rather show Margo his answers to questions then speak, “that’s a good question.” He took her hand and pressed it against his zipper. “Here’s your answer.” I liked this book I loved Zeke.

I wasn't expecting to love this book, but I totally did. I love roommate romances, and this one really fit the bill. Yes, it's a novella, so it's on the short side...and yes, I do wish it had been a little longer....but I still loved the friendship that developed between Zeke and Margo. I loved his little nickname for her (go-go) but I kind of wish I'd seen how she ended up with that nickname.

I loved seeing them fall for each other, even if I wished I'd been able to see more.

I definitely can't wait to check out the other books in this series!

I loved the little detour that The Perfect Fit provided by exploring the life, one of the O’Brien’s employees, a broken ex army man and young broke veterinarian who happen to end up living together and finding that they are the perfect fit.

Zeke Mays was the perfect distraction whilst waiting for the third book and whilst we did get glimpse of Cal O’Brian, the last of the O’Briens. Readers will be busy enamoured like me with this hunky male who gets life turns up side down by his new gorgeous younger roommate Margo.

Margo is a new qualified veterinarian who has moved to the dream place she has always want to live , San Francisco however the rent isn’t cheap. So when she get an lead to find a place to rent in a safe area and meets Zeke. She surprised as he is the last person she expecting considering that he is a friend of her uncles.

Zeke isn’t decades older though he feels like it. He merely elevens years old and is very agreeable and easy to get along with. However emotionally and physically tells a different story, Zeke is struggling with the accident that lead him to this place. Moving across country and dealing with the changes that civilian life brings.

He needs someone and sunny , happy Margo is exactly the sort of woman who can deliver that and more. However Is Zeke ready to accept His Perfect Fit?

For a pretty straight forward novella, Sutton delivered another standout story for this series. Both likeable characters with big hearts trying to deal with their vulnerabilities and flaws that stop them from taking that step we desperate want asap. As all the signs were there, they clicked instantly and soon was sizzle tension as Sutton made them work for it.

Showing they were the Perfecct in all sense of the world. I loved this detour as we got to see more of the company and charm us in to loving the world that Sutton has created by giving us that novella.

. I love novellas when they give us a story that is complete and with out lose ends. The Perfect Fit was that and more. Giving us a story in a familiar world and expanding it with giving a us a beautiful romance about finding the perfect fit. It paced perfectly to fit that image, slowly building and slow burning as Margo and and Zeke move from perfect strangers to friends and finally to lovers and in love.

It’s perfect standalone is the bonus with this book so if you want to dip your toes or have another experience with your favourite demin compmany. This book is a must read.

This was a cute short novella. Loved Zeke from the beginning, not only is he this big hulking military hottie but his protectiveness of Margo was freakin adorable and he had a sense of humor.

Zeke and Margo are as different as night and day but that's what makes it all so fun. This was a pretty drama free read. There is some angst, our H suffers with PTSD and deals with some insecurities and doubts about starting a relationship since an IED took his leg. Margo was Zeke's wake up call and I loved their story. Zeke really was an awesome H, he was sexy, funny, sweet and all around nice guy. Margo, our heroine was a happy go lucky girl. There was instant attraction for her but they start as friends and it gradually builds up. This was a friends turned lovers romance. Definitely a feel good summer read. I loved the characters, the writing style and the perfect amount of heat. I really liked this one, it was an easy and fun read.

Zeke & Margo really are a perfect fit!

Safety: Yes
OW/OM: Very minor, but yes
Descriptive sex: Yes only between MCs, none with OW/OM
Safe Sex: Yes, somewhat
HEA: Yes, we get a cute epilogue and talk of babies!!!

What a cute, make-you-feel-good read! I loved every second of The Perfect Fit. The only downfall of this one? That it had to end. I had such a good time with these two as desperation brought them together as roommates and they went from strangers to best friends to something even more. *sigh* I loved them.

Zeke is one sexy beast of a man. He's a little older at 36--she's 25--and maybe a spot world weary after coming home from war. And Margo. She's his opposite. She's young and cheerful and shiny compared to his regimented and more serious self.

I just loved them together. They really were the perfect fit and so cute as they took up together and both settled into life in the area--new jobs, joining the softball league at work, making friends. It was just lovely and sweet and sexy too. Their chemistry was fabulous. It did take them a little while to move into the more than friends category because of a little hang up of Zeke's that kinda pulled at the heart but made him even more interesting. One of my favorite things? That Zeke wasn't a manwhore! He'd only been with one woman before the heroine and even his experience with her was somewhat limited. I just loved that. It was really refreshing in a genre full of I've-slept-with-everything-that-moves heroes.

All in all, The Perfect Fit was the perfect read for an afternoon escape. Sexy and sweet it'll pull at your heart strings and have you laughing out loud as two very special people find just a little magical when they least expect it.

This is a quick little novella that adds to the O'Brien series. While we see some characters from the previous books we also meet two new characters.

Zeke and Margo are different as night and day but with them being roommates that doesn't matter much. These two have an attraction towards one another but Zeke is quick not to let anything happen between them. One they are roommates and that could be awkward and two he is 11 years older then her, but the more time they spend together doing just roommate stuff the more their feelings begin to grow.

From the beginning I was drawn to Margo's sunny personality and Zekes gruffness. As the story and characters grow I really enjoyed the little changes in Zekes personality and the positive effect Margo was having on him.

During the story we find out Zeke was married and has only been with one woman. His ex didn't believe in oral for either one of them so it came as a shock that this man hasn't ever done anything but missionary. I thought Sutton did an excellent job at writing Zeke experiencing new things and loving it.
For this novella it had the right amount of sexy scenes that worked for this story.

If you love the O'Brien series as much as I do you definitely don't want to miss out on this treat!

This was a very enjoyable and quick read, even if the price was too high for a novella. I liked the plot and I really loved the well rounded characters and almost everything made sense in their attitudes and reactions. I must confess that the format of the sex parts was unexpected, but justifiable since passion was already simmering for some months.
There were a few inconsistencies though:
I thing these inconsistencies could have been easily solved with a more careful editing.

My Review:
First things first...this is a novella within a series, but you absolutely do NOT have to read the series to be able to enjoy this novella. While it falls within the world, the stories really have no bearing on one another at all. Pick this one up to check out this author's writing. I think you will enjoy it and then you can check out the rest of the series.

This book is about Margo and Zeke. Margo is a new veterinarian starting her first job in the city she's always wanted to live in...San Francisco. But as a new college graduate, money is super tight and SF is not a cheap place to live. Through her godfather, Margo finds Zeke...a man 11 years her senior who worked with her godfather in the military but now handles the logistics for Riley's jean company.

Zeke lost the lower half of his leg on his last deployment in the military. At that point in time, his marriage was already over, but his ex-wife still was instrumental in helping his recovery. Zeke is a loner, but he finds himself quickly charmed by his new roommate.

This is a novella, so it's a quick read, but I didn't feel like it lacked depth in the story at all. Just the opposite...I fell in love with the two characters and was thoroughly entranced by their romance. They begin as friends and I do love a friends to lovers story.

Margo is a veterinarian so there are some great scenes with her job. By nature, she's a compassionate understanding person. She's the perfect fit for Zeke. He's spent most his life in the military. He's a very stoic, regimented guy. Margo eases his personality. He's more relaxed and definitely happier around him.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and HIGHLY recommend it. It's just a really, really good one.

What a fantastic book! I read it in one sitting!!
I give The Perfect Fit FIVE "Life is short. Let's eat dessert first." STARS

Full review on release day at The Book Reading Gals!!

4/6/16:
I just love when you find an author that you know, you just KNOW, that when you pick up a book from them you are in for a great story. A story that will help me escape for a bit, let me live vicariously through the characters, and give me the happily ever after that I LOVE! For me Jenna Sutton is that kind of author!

The Perfect Fit is a quick story that I read in one afternoon. I felt that the handling of the aftereffects of a soldier returning from active service were handled realistically. I was drawn in by Margo’s love for veterinary medicine and for quirky animals facts. And, oh man, the chemistry between Margo and Zeke was smoking off of my kindle!

This story is listed as a novella off of Jenna’s Riley O’Brien & Co. series but in my opinion this can definitely be read as a standalone. But be ready to buy the other 2 books that Jenna has out because her writing style is so spot on you will not be able to resist! Here is an example:

“At this point, he had only a few life goals. He wanted to sleep through the night without any nightmares. He wanted to run in marathons again. He wanted to end his three-year dry spell and f*ck a soft, sexy woman until he came so hard he passed out. But all of those things required him to do one thing: deal with the toxic emotions he had…”

I give The Perfect Fit – 5 “Life is short. Let’s eat dessert first.” STARS!!

Wow, what a refreshing and sexy novella! The Perfect Fit by new to me author Jenna Sutton, is a fast-paced story with two main characters that are instantly fascinating, likable, and have a ton of off the charts chemistry.

Margo Lange is a brand new veterinarian with a ton of student loans that have to be repaid. She accepts a promising position at a local clinic in San Francisco, a city where she has always dreamed about living in. Thanks to her uncle's military connections, she finds a safe and affordable apartment, complete with a gorgeous roommate, army veteran Zeke May. Zeke is a logistics guru, so after he was discharged from the army due to an injury, a prominent denim manufacturer offered him a job. San Francisco is an expensive city to work and live in, so Zeke is thankful that his old army buddy found him an always smiling roommate.

I loved this book and the storyline is both fun and entertaining. I instantly bonded with Margo and Zeke because they are extremely realistic and lively characters. Their sex scenes are hot and full of desire. Ms. Sutton writes with a lot of feeling, and as a result, I felt their emotional upheavals deep inside my heart. This is the fourth book in the Riley O'Brien & Co. series, and it can be truly enjoyed as a standalone.

A quick read from Jenna Sutton, The Perfect Fit was a heartwarming novella and fourth standalone in the series Riley O'Brien & Co.

This the story of Zeke and Margo, a former army veteran and a vet. For a short read, Jenna Sutton does a good job with character building and gives us the backstory of the leads.

I loved how the relationship developed between Zeke and Go-go (Margo, as he fondly calls her) and how they go from roommates to friends and then lovers.

I would have loved Zeke to have handled his ex-wife differently, but I understand how he feels and that their relationship was long and they were friends first.

I liked how Margo saw through the rough exterior of Zeke and noticed his subtle actions to help her from the start. A typical case of opposites attract - gruff Zeke and witty Margo, with off the charts chemistry. A cute and romantic novella, nailed by Jenna Sutton.

I thought Perfect Fit was simply perfect.
I loved the story for Margo and Zeke. This couple had chemistry from the beginning and lasted throughout the book.

Zeke is our wounded hero who has started a new life outside the military. While his struggling to accept the loss of his leg, he finds a roommate whose fresh faced and has a sunny disposition.

Margo is staring over in a new city. She finds the perfect room along with the perfect roommate. She's smitten with Zeke from the first sight. Zeke just needs to get on board with it.

The couple build a friendship before becoming more. It was was easy to see why this couple need with a HEA

This is my first book by this author. I will be reading the others in this series. While this book is part of a series, you do not have to read the others first.

I loved Zeke and Margo. Zeke is ex-military, a little stiff, but with a big heart. Margo is a veterinarian, easy going and quick with a laugh. They start out as friends. What I really liked was the emotional connection between the two that came before the sex.

When I finished the book, I was left smiling and knowing this was a book that I would be reading again. You will be glad you bought this book.

3.5 stars.

The style was a bit too wordy for my tastes. I don't need to know what the characters are wearing or eating in great detail, but I know that works for some.

Overall pretty cute with a few cheesy bits and a quick ex-drama. Fun story for dog lovers.

Zeke is a 36-year-old former army Major who had a lower leg blown off by an IED. He now works in the supply chain for Riley O'Brien and CO (repeatedly mentioned by FULL name). He lives in a nice 2-bedroom apartment and needs a roommate to help cover the expensive rent. He has nightmares and feels obligated to stay in communication with his ex-wife because she nursed him back to health after his injury. He is so cranky before his morning coffee that Margo names him Crankenstein. He is protective, neat, orderly and a pretty good guy.

Margo is a 25-year-old veterinarian starting her 1st job since graduating. Her uncle served with Zeke and connects them. She is all light and sunshine, smiles and laughter. Zeke nicknames her Go-go.

They both find the other attractive but are able to keep it pretty platonic for the 1st while. When Zeke rescues Margo's panties from her dog Roby, he starts to think of her in a different light. He has a bit of a problem with the age difference - she doesn't. He has not been with anyone except the ex and that ended 3 years ago. She has only had a couple relationships and casual dating due to being busy with school.

They do eventually give in and then have to figure out if they can make it work.

Quotes:

“I’m pretty sure you were humming ‘Can’t Feel My Face,’” Justin added. Zeke definitely could feel his face, and it was growing hot with embarrassment. This was all Margo’s fault. Justin smirked.
“I didn’t know you liked The Weeknd.”
“I don’t,” Zeke muttered. He’d never even heard of The Weeknd until Margo had moved in two months ago, and he wasn’t a fan. Zeke didn’t understand why she loved the singer so much. Even if you could endure the guy’s annoying falsetto, his hair looked like a pineapple sprouting from his head, and his name was just plain stupid. Zeke had grown up listening to Soundgarden, Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Metallica. That was real music.

“You haven’t been your typical grumpy self lately,” Justin continued. “Did you finally get laid?” Zeke glared at him. When he’d been Major May, he hadn’t had to deal with smartass remarks from his subordinates. It was times like these when he really missed the Army.
“I am your boss,” he pointed out. “Maybe you should show me some respect.”
Justin, the little shit, just laughed. “I respect you, Z. That’s why I suffered through an hour of your humming before I said anything.” His expression turned thoughtful. “Seriously, you seem a lot happier lately. What’s the deal?”

Tears burned the backs of her eyes. Zeke had suffered a tremendous loss, yet he had somehow found the courage to start over in a new city with a new job. She had respected and admired him before she’d known about his leg. But now, those feelings were amplified. His determination and strength awed her. She doubted she would have the resilience he’d demonstrated.

She had never felt this strongly about a man. And her feelings for Zeke were growing stronger by the day. She was falling for him.

“I wasn’t worried.” He sighed tiredly. “I was scared to death. I thought something had happened to you.” Stunned by his comments, she turned her head to look at him. He did the same, and she stared into his dark eyes for a long moment.
“I’m sorry,” she apologized, her voice almost a whisper.
“I have never been so scared in my life, Margo.”
“Never?”
“Never.” Zeke had deployed to two of the most dangerous places on earth, and he’d lost a leg. But the thought of something happening to her had scared him more than combat and amputation.

Jake and Cal were silent, their eyes steady on him. He could tell he had surprised them. Hell, he had surprised himself. He wasn’t the kind of guy who spilled his guts. “I understand what you’re saying.” Cal took off his baseball cap and shoved it in his back pocket. “But hearing how you described her … you’re in love with this woman, Zeke. You’re just too stupid to realize it.”
He rubbed his hand over his sweat-dampened hair. “Instead of thinking about all the reasons you and Margo don’t make sense, you should start thinking about all the reasons the two of you do make sense.”

A half-naked woman was in bed with him—a woman he wanted desperately. Before he’d met her, he hadn’t known what it was like to feel this way. She knew about his leg. She knew about his nightmares. And she still wanted to have sex with him. He wasn’t going to waste any more time talking. He could think of a lot of other things he’d rather do with his mouth.

“Andrea divorced me because she wanted to be loved passionately. I didn’t love her like that. I couldn’t love her like that even if I tried.” He tucked a loose strand of Margo’s hair behind her ear. “But that’s how I love you, Go-go.”
She was afraid she’d heard him wrong … afraid that she was imagining this whole conversation. “You love me?”
“Yeah, I do.” His deep voice softened. “Passionately. Endlessly. Without reason. Without limits.” Cupping her cheek in his palm, he rubbed his thumb over her lower lip. “You light up all the dark places inside me. You brighten my world. When I’m with you, I feel alive and hopeful and excited. You make me happy.”
Her emotions overwhelmed her, and tears welled in her eyes. “You make me happy, too.”
“I kept telling myself that we didn’t make sense.” He caught one of her tears on his fingertip. “But we do.”
She nodded. “Yes, we do.” “I kept telling myself that I wasn’t the right man for you—”
“You are,” she insisted. “You’re the right man for me because I love you.”
“Why don’t you say that last part again,” he suggested. “I love you, Zeke.” “I love you, too.”

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

The Perfect Fit was a perfect way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon. It also proved to me that my love of this series is not just because I love the O’Brien family, but because I enjoy Sutton’s writing. Unlike the previous installment in the series, neither of the main characters in this novella are a member of the O’Brien family. Well, not the genetic O’Brien family, that is, because Zeke is an employee at Riley O'Brien & Co., making him a member of the corporate family. I’ll be honest, even though I’ve read the previous books (and loved them) I don’t think that we’ve met Zeke before, but if we have, I apologize profusely for not remembering such a scrumptious male character – lucky Margo.

When Margo makes the move to San Francisco, she quickly discovers that she will need a roommate in order to avoid living in a hovel in a dangerous neighborhood. Luckily for her, her uncle has an old military buddy in the Bay area who is in need of a roommate. While the old military buddy, Zeke, isn’t nearly as old as Margo was expecting, the eleven-year age difference is irrelevant as neither of them are interested in a relationship for various reasons, so they agree to become roommates. Now, as would be expected in any romance novel where a man and a woman are sharing an apartment and aren’t looking for love, it’s not surprising that Zeke and Margo develop feelings for one another. But Zeke’s age, PTSD, and amputee-status leave him feeling as though Margo deserves more than he can give her and he does a bang up job of leading her to believe he has no interest in her. Even when Margo discovers that Zeke is attracted to her and cares about her, his behavior toward her continues to suggest that their relationship will never be more than platonic. And then one night, everything changes when Zeke realizes that Margo not only accepts him as he is, she wants him just as he is. Now even though this is a novella, Sutton still manages to throw a wrench into the mix to cause just the right amount of drama that means Margo and Zeke have to work for a future together.

Having read the previous books, I really wasn’t surprised that I enjoyed The Perfect Fit. What I was surprised about was Zeke’s reaction to learning that Margo already knew his secrets. I was flabbergasted and ultimately pleased with the way it played out – it was rather refreshing. The chemistry between the two is pretty heated and when they finally succumb to it, it gets really hot because Zeke is a man making up for lost time and enjoying the fact that Margo’s tastes are decidedly different than those of his ex-wife. I also liked how the author gave us glimpses of both characters in their own lives, outside of the apartment – Margo at the veterinary practice and Zeke at the company softball games. This was an added dimension of character development that doesn’t always occur in novellas, so I appreciated that the author gave me a chance to get to know the characters better as individuals. The subtle jumps in time prevented the romance from having that insta-love feel and Roby was a delightful addition to the book. I really hope that we get to catch up with Zeke and Margo in future installments in the series and I’m looking forward to reading Hanging by a Thread soon.

Title: The Perfect Fit

Series: Riley O'Brien & Co. novella

Author: Jenna Sutton

My Thoughts:

I just love when you find an author that you know, you just KNOW, that when you pick up a book from them you are in for a great story. A story that will help me escape for a bit, let me live vicariously through the characters, and give me the happily ever after that I LOVE! For me Jenna Sutton is that kind of author!

The Perfect Fit is a quick story that I read in one afternoon. I felt that the handling of the aftereffects of a soldier returning from active service were handled realistically. I was drawn in by Margo's love for veterinary medicine and for quirky animals facts. And, oh man, the chemistry between Margo and Zeke was smoking off of my kindle!

This story is listed as a novella off of Jenna's Riley O'Brien & Co. series but in my opinion this can definitely be read as a standalone. But be ready to buy the other 2 books that Jenna has out because her writing style is so spot on you will not be able to resist! Here is an example:

"At this point, he had only a few life goals. He wanted to sleep through the night without any nightmares. He wanted to run in marathons again. He wanted to end his three-year dry spell and f*ck a soft, sexy woman until he came so hard he passed out. But all of those things required him to do one thing: deal with the toxic emotions he had..."

I give The Perfect Fit - 5 "Life is short. Let's eat dessert first." STARS!!

This is one of those stories that just makes you happy the entire time you are reading it! The Perfect Fit is such an endearing and sweet read! The story flowed so well that before I knew it, it was over! It takes place in the Riley O'Brien & Co. series, but I read this as a standalone and loved it!

Margo is a vivacious girl who loves animals. She's a vet and loves her job every single day-even when they don't go as good as she would like. She's so real that everybody just adores her. I did! We all need to have a cup-is-half-full kinda friend, and Margo is it! Zeke learns this first hand when Margo comes to San Francisco to start her vet career and needs to find an apartment she can afford with her student loans. Lucky for her, her uncle's Army buddy, Zeke, is looking for a roommate.

Zeke is eleven years older than Margo. He's served in the military, traveled the world, and seen some things no one should. He had no intention of leaving the military until he suffered a debilitating injury and was discharged. Now he's learning to live life from another perspective. He's struggles and you feel for him. He's been getting through life, but living in a black and white existence, until Margo moves in. She makes him see things with goodness and brightness that he just wasn't experiencing before. He has a few hang ups, but Margo has brought color to his life and he can not ignore her!

From the get-go these two clicked and I loved the progression from friends to lovers. They have issues. That's what makes them relatable and definitely likeable. Both are people I would love to call my friends. Margo wore her heart on her sleeve. She truly loves what she does! It was impossible not to be pulled under her spell! And Zeke? Zeke didn't stand a chance!! Yes he had issues from being in the military, but Margo accepted him as is. They were genuine with each other and Jenna Sutton did a wonderful job of making us feel that. Together, they were just a fascinating couple!

First, I need to say one thing: WOW!!! I LOVED this book. The first thing that drew me to this book was the cover. When I saw it the first time, I had to read the blurb. Now the blurb made me want to read it all the more. I love a good book about the heroes of this country, whether they be military, fire, police, they are all HEROES in my book. I fell in love with Zeke, the hero in this book. He is a hero that served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, losing part of his leg in an IED during his last tour of duty. Since leaving the military, he has become a somber man, suffering from PTSD. In walks Margo, niece of one of his old army buddies. She has just moved to San Francisco for a new job as a veterinarian and is looking for a place to live. Her uncle puts her in touch with Zeke. When she first meets Zeke, she is surprised how young he is, and definitely HOT!! Down girl, he is going to be your roommate. Zeke and Margo instantly hit it off, he realizes he is telling Margo things that he has never told anyone else. But, he is to old and jaded for her. Or so he thinks…
This is a wonderful story of friendship developing into caring, and then into love. Margo proves Zeke wrong on so many of his beliefs. I love how this story is told. It shows some of the things that our heroes return with mentally and physically. Ms. Sutton did a phenomenal job writing this wonderful book. I had not previously read any of her book. I fully intend to change that in the future. I have definitely found another author to love.
Now, I want to thank NetGalley for listing this book on their site and introducing me to this stupendous author. I especially want to thank Patchwork Press – Cooperative for approving my request to read and review this wonderful book. Most importantly, I need to thank Jenna Sutton for writing this magnificent book and giving my index finger more of a trigger finger, when it starts hitting One-Click button again.
You really need to exercise your index finger on this book as well. Do it now while you are thinking about it.
Thank you for reading my review.

Zeke May is a Veteran who has recently moved to San Francisco to take a job at Riley O'Brien & Co. as part of a Veterans to work program. To help meet expenses, he offers to share his apartment with the niece of an army buddy. But, he doesn't expect Margo to share the space in his head and heart as easily as she occupies a room in his apartment.

Margo and Zeke are terrific characters that are really well developed for a brief novella. Margo is a veterinarian with a huge heart. She bring out the best in Zeke and he adores and protects her. This is really the story of two lonely souls who find one another and become stronger together than they are apart. Though Margo and Zeke are on the periphery of the Riley Co. gang, we do see glimpses of the other characters in this series. And, it just makes me anxious for the next book, which will be releasing in early June. This novella adds to depth and quality of the entire series.

The Perfect Fit is a standalone novella in the Riley O'Brien & Co. Series. You do not have to read any of the other books in the series to enjoy The Perfect Fit. But, why would you not? The Perfect Fit is a sweet and heartwarming romance. I have really grown to love this series and Jenna Sutton's writing. I think you'll love it too!

Jenna Sutton's The Perfect Fit was a sweet romance between two characters that found each other at just the right time. Wanting to fulfill her dream, Margo finds herself in a new city with a sexy new roommate. A wounded Army Vet, Zeke is left with painful memories and nightmares. As their attraction towards each other grows, they react to it in different ways. Margo wants to pursue her feelings toward Zeke, while he believes that she deserves someone better. While I really enjoyed the time I spent reading this little novella, I wished it was longer I loved the characters and I felt that they had a much bigger story to tell. I wanted to know more about Margo and Zeke, to watch them more as they grew closer. I loved Jenna's writing style. I love how she explored and detailed Zeke's past. I loved how Margo quietly allowed Zeke to come to terms with his feelings without rushing him. Although The Perfect Fit is not the first novella in the Riley O'Brien & Co. series, to me it felt like the perfect introduction to the author's writing. I got a sample of her writing, got to meet a couple of her characters, and as a result, I added the first book to my TBR. Overall, I liked this little novella. It made me giggle at a couple spots and tear up a bit during others. And, of course, it made me want to read more from the author.

Zeke and Margo were slow in drawing me into their world. Once they did however, there was no turning back. The Perfect Fit by Jenna Sutton brings together two wounded, insecure people with nothing in common yet for some strange reason they find comfort and shelter in each other. I received an ARC of The Perfect Fit in exchange for an honest review. I would love to say that I was hooked from page one but that wouldn't be true. The awkwardness of the first meeting was uncomfortable but Ms. Sutton does a beautiful job of allowing the reader to get to know each individual little by little and as I learned more my heart began to thaw. Zeke doesn't know how to be anything but strong. His military training makes him gruff, moody and rough around the edges. Yet it's the small glimpses of doubt, shame and sadness that make him a complex character. On the surface Margo comes across fragile but underneath her outer layer lies a woman who is determined to give her all to becoming a better and stronger person. These characters are perfect for each other because there is no pretense between them. As they start to connect, it becomes obvious that they are good for each other. They strengthen each others weaknesses. Zeke and Margo ultimately ended up teaching me something: "The follow through makes everything worth it."

I was graciously given an arc by NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. This is my first Jenna Sutton book and of course Riley O'Brien & Co. Book but it will definitely not be my last the first two books are on my TBR and the new book coming out also. Margo has finally graduated from Vet school and is starting her dream of living in San Francisco. But with mountains of school debt the only places she can afford are dumps. And she needs saftey after having her apartment broken into while living in Ithica. She has her trusty Doberman Pitcher Roby but still need security. Which come from her Uncle Dave's old army buddy Zeke May. She goingto sharing an apartment with him but she didnt figurs he would beso much younger then her uncle or hot. Zeke finally getting his life back on trackafter losing his leg in Afghanistan. But even working at Riley O'Brien & co. he still needs a roomate. Zeke's been through alot a divorce, losing his leg, and nightmares. But Margo might just be what he needs but he doesn't think he deserves her with half a leg and being 11 years oldef. Margo falls head of heels for Zeke and then form a serious friendship right from the start. Now all they gotto do is figure out there the perfect fit for each other. I loved there chemistry with eachother and both there back story was very emotional and sadand that honestly made them perfect for eachother.
