Caught between a heart locked on revenge and seduction…

Silvia, the only child of the church undersecretary, vows to avenge her beloved father after he’s killed in a siege. She never expects to discover a pure heart buried beneath Konal’s barbaric exterior.

As Konal slowly rekindles a spark of life inside her, their fates become hopelessly entwined. Not only must they withstand the violence of the envious lust-mongers who threaten them, Konal and Silvia must choose what’s most important—tradition or love that cannot be denied.

LOVE'S FURY by Violetta Rand is a brilliantly written Medieval Viking Romance. # 1 in her new and highly anticipated "Viking's Fury" series. WOW! Absolutely, captivating!
Ms. Rand's Viking stories are truly amazingly bold, passionate, and emotional.
Meet, Konal the Red, the younger brother of a Danish Prince sent to invade Northumbria. And Silvia, the only child of the church undersecretary. After her village is attacked, and her beloved father was killed during the seige, she vows revenge. She becomes part of Konal's spoils of war. While, Silvia, is bent on revenge, an eye for an eye, from the barbaric invaders, Konal is bent on possessing her body and heart. Sparks fly. Passion deepens. Love blossoms. But can love survive or will they both lose, in this battle of lust, passion and love?
Fast paced, quick read, written with vivid imagery, that the reader can feel the hatred and contempt, the turmoil between the characters, their struggles between duty, lust, finding and holding on to their blossoming love, with respect and devotion.
To me, "Love's Fury" is a powerful, compelling, emotionally charged story, one the reader will not be able to put down.
Ms. Rand writes a masterful , passionate tale of Viking ancestry, that compels as well as entertains the reader. The characters are bold, engaging, full of energy with more than just lust, power, and dominaning the Saxon people.
Once again, Ms. Rand has written a superb Viking tale! A must read! Magnificent! I can't wait for the next installment. Fans of Medieval Romance, Historical Romance, lusty Vikings and feisty ladies, really should give Ms. Rand's "Love's Fury" a try. you will not regret your choice.

4 and 1/2 Stars - Powerful Norseman Claims a Saxon Slave

Set in 867, beginning in York, this is the story of Konal the Red, a Norseman drafted by the Danish prince to fight in Northumbria. Once his military contract expires, Konal intends to return to Norway and his family. But his conquests have earned him lands and he wants to see them first The prince has also given him one of the captives, an educated girl named Silvia, to be his slave.

Silvia, the educated daughter of the church undersecretary, vows to avenge her father’s death in the raid that lost her their home, however, she has little choice but to follow Konal as he leads her away from York.

Silvia constantly challenges Konal, all the while being weak to his kisses. Konal is a most unusual Northman, allowing her to do as she wants, believing he can woo her to his bed.

This is a well-written story in the true Viking romance tradition of a powerful Norseman taking an alluring Saxon to be his slave, never intending to keep her in such a position. Can Silvia leave her home forever? The two clash as they find romance.

This tale is raw, real, and in your face. Rand doesn’t sugar coat things, bringing everything to life in the most vivid of manners. Rand transports readers seamlessly back in time to experience, rather than simply read, this story. The plot tugged at my heart while also making me think. It was a brilliant mix.

I enjoyed the look at each character’s emotions and thoughts. Not only did this bring forward the different cultures and societies that clash here, but it also let me get to know the main characters well. The complex characters that we get to know throughout are fantastic. Silvia’s muted bravery combined with her sharp mind served to create a unique heroine who also stays well within societal bounds for the time period at hand. She is in direct opposition to Konal’s desires to do what is expected and to keep his honor. The banter between them was unforgettable.

Rand has once again created a seamless tale that both highlights the distant past while telling a tale that still resounds today. It was a fantastic read that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.

A SOLID 3.5 STARS!

THE ENDING WAS TOO ABRUPT, I WISHED THERE HAD BEEN AN EPILOGUE. IT LEFT ME HANGING. AND THE WAY THE TWO LOVERS FINALLY GOT TOGETHER WAS A BIT...

KONAL was a barbarian in every sense except he prided himself on cleanliness. No one can accuse him of being a gentleman. When he lost a bet with his brother, the Jarl, he agreed to serve Prince Ivarr, a Danish Prince and on his last day of battle, he caught himself a thrall - the beautiful Silvia. Despite her wildcat ways and barbs of her tongue, Konal's intrigued and mesmerized by her spirit. I swear the man was physically attacked several times and his honor questioned miserably but he refused to let her go. Konal was too stubborn for his own good. When Silvia finally relents and admitted her love, he still refused to admit his own or marry the woman until she confronted him at the end...WHEN he could have saved everyone the trouble, manned up and claimed her for himself. That was the only cowardly moment he had - giving excuses not to claim her yet he took her virginity.

SILVIA was a beautiful, innocent naiive daughter of a scholar who had the worst luck ever when the Danes invaded her village. Her father killed, she's desolate and refuses to live on yet the barbaric Viking would keep her as a thrall, never letting her go even if she fought him at every turn. It got a bit shrewish too but thankfully the author turned the tables around. Where Konal was always propositioning her into his bed, it was delicious to see Silvia pursuing him instead.

OVERALL it was a quick Viking romance. Sadly we don't get to see Konal's birth home or meet his family which is a shame. I think pitching Silvia to meet Eira (Konal's ex lover) would have spiced things up, and Silvia meeting the Viking family would certainly add more depth & meaning into their relationship....because it would mean acceptance and a place for her to belong after being ripped from her home after the Danish invasion.

As a modern day Valkyrie, born in Norway, you can trust my “Viking Verified Stamp of Raiding Romance Approval.” You’ll find in the first book of the Viking’s Fury series, Rand’s story captivates with characters who will jump off the page and into your life.

Not all Vikings are unlovable and Rand will prove it through the story’s hero, Konal the Red, a Norseman who fights with honor for a Saxon woman who at first seems determined to push him to end her life, so he can get on with his. When this highly-educated beauty becomes his slave property, she not only incites passion in Konal, but compassion too.

Ripped from the only life she’s ever-known, coddled by her scholarly father and his religious community, Silvia see’s death as the only answer to avoid the cruel existence she has imaged as a trophy of war serving a ruthless Viking.

Can enemies of warring nations coexist even one night without killing each other? Both are armed and dangerous. You’ll have to read Rand’s Nordic tale to see if hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, in Love’s Fury.

Author Violetta Rand captures the reader's undivided attention in Love's Fury. An intense Viking romance with descriptive historical details of a Norseman's life, filled with passion, feisty banter, and Rand's strong willed characters. Prepare to board a longship and be swept away. I enjoyed this story immensely and ended up reading it twice. I highly recommend this book. I cannot wait until book two in this Viking series is released. Authentic and a true Viking story teller, Violetta Rand delivers one of her very best in Love's Fury.

Mixed feelings

I truly enjoyed reading this book....I guess the independent woman in me causes me to shake my head and wonder how a woman whose father was murdered before her could fall for the enemy in such a short time. But then again, this is fiction romance story....so, of course, it had to happen. The writing is good...story is short. I would recommend to another romantic slob, like myself, though.

I really enjoyed this and not my usual type but it was well written, the main characters were well described and personalities built on throughout the story. Rand did not have the "rosie coloured lenses" on she described the violence, cultural differences, customs and socio differences which greatly enhanced the story with historic realism. I didn't like how it ended as it was rushed and to abrupt but guessing it will be picked up in the next book.

The beginning of the book was the hooker and then the pace and detail in the book just carried it and kept the reader interested and set the scene to how the characters personalities developed and grew especially towards each other on a more deeper level as they spent more time with each other with Rand portraying both there weaknesses and vulnerabilities as well as there independence and strengths. There was also a mystery involved as to whom was behind trying to kill them and why. I also like the way she used Danish language in the book it was interesting and didn't distract but enriched the read.

A fantastic, quick read (I read in one sitting) that keeps you engaged in the story. If you like Vikings, history and a love story or liked the series VIKINGS then this is a read for you!

From Hate to Love to Partial HEA

Love's Fury by Violetta Rand is a truly intense character driven read.

Although the story held my attention, the lead male character was difficult to like. The female lead was courageous, but helpless to fight her captor either physically or emotionally.

By the end of this emotion read, I'm just glad this oddly matched couple finds their implied HEA, but the rest of their story is in the next book.

Content 411: This book contains secular and religious swearing, including nine “f” vulgarities. It also contains violence, passionate kissing and one open door sex scene.

I enjoyed this book and I think anyone who likes historical romances will too, once they convince themselves to ignore the fact that women did not act like Silvia did back in the year 867, or that Vikings would tolerate her behavior and mouthiness. I don’t understand why the bad guy (whose identity was a total shocker to me) didn’t take advantage of his situation the first time he struck. Seemed like a wasted opportunity. Anyway, I think the book ended quite abruptly and I found myself wanting to know more of their story.

Adult romance, violent and focuses on sex,,. Frustrating book, did not really end as would of been nice to find out what happened when he returned home. Also could have made so much pan more of the story based on what was written in the scrolls and the ring,,, lots of mention that she was like a vallkyre… I would of liked her to of been a stolen princess from his homeland which the scrolls revealed, really disappointing, If the writer had a good plot though she could be a good writer it was the story not the writing style that let this down.

A young girl blames a viking at site of her father's death, for his murder. The Viking, catches and detains the girl, with the intention of keeping her as a thrall.
However, a battle of wits occurs and each having to credit the other for their ability to adapt and conquer with words.
Attraction happens, but the girl is not willing to give up her virtue, unless it is under her conditions.
It has a few dramatic episodes and a HEA.

This was a cool read! I wouldn't call this one of my top shelf reads but it was good enough to keep me interested. Konal was a total Neanderthal when he was first introduced but as the story progressed, he wasn't so bad. Kinda the same thing for Sylvia, except I feel she was a brat throughout most of the book. I'm happy there was no cliffhanger here and it actually made me wanna pick up book 2. We shall see how things turn out for Konal once he returns home with the enemy.

Wow!

This book should be longer. It was a complete story, but I want more of Konal and Silvia. This book was a quick read that held my attention from the first page. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Slightly abrupt and rushed ending - would have liked to have seen a little more or at least an Epilogue, but this couple is featured in the next book, so you do get a glimpse of their continued story there.
But overall a good, fast pace Viking romance.
