EXCELLENT SERIES!

I read with pleasure this fantasy novel about a mixed race young woman whose life is completely changed when she meets a world full of elves, shifters, witches, ogres...
It was surprisingly funny, and the right amount of sexy, for me.
I liked:
- The Assassin and Lilly's humour, it was refreshing.
- The fantasy plot was good and not obvious( the love plot is, but I didn't mind), I think there will be a lot surprises.
I disliked:
- The way the two soon-to-be lovers met. She was six, and he looked after her like a father... Not cool.
- The views on abortion.
I'll recommend it and I'm on my way to book 2.

I am intrigued!
Like where this is going so far. Books of this genre have been getting more of my interest and this author has the knack for keeping you interested from the first page to the last. Glad I have all of this series cause I am about to devour them.

Spectacular
I fell in love with Lilly. A funny, Innocent 6 year old. Lilly is beautiful inside and out. A biracial child in a small town in NC, raised by a single mother and her Favorite uncle Buddy. While growing up life was hard for Lilly. She was picked on, teased and bullied by the small minded people in her life. But despite all that Lilly has an amazing deposition and despite all the hardship in her young life she manages to save a guy who turns out to be Assassin from another Realm. If not for him helping her in a situation in her life, the events that follow will dramatically propels her into another realm of chaos,war,bigotry...but not until she turns 20...and gets knocked up by an Ass of a Prince from the other realm who think's he has a right to Lilly, but the Assassin tells him otherwise. Love the storyline between The Assassin and Lilly. Hope to see more of then together in book 2.

All Hail Lilly!!!
In this great opening to this series we are introduced to some very interesting cast of characters. We get to see how Lilly first meets the Assassin as a child and as an adult. I got to say Lilly as a child was very hilarious, with her point of view on things. Lilly may not have seen herself as having any importance in the human realm but she's definitely a sought after commodity in the realm of the Locke, where all the mystical creatures and Immortals reside. Lilly is learning to be very cautious and weary of anyone who's not the Assassin. Now that she's carrying the next future Kings of the Locke she'll have to be extra cautious and protective towards her unborn son's. Let's hope Assassin can help keep her safe. Highly recommend this book, looking forward to book two!!!

I read many different genres and have found this book to be one of the best in the fantasy genre. I could not help but to empathize with Lilly and Assassin. Can't wait to read the series.

I give it 3.5 stars. I’m not usually into this type of fantasy book, but I LOVED the storyline! However, the grammar, punctuation, word choice, and sentence structure left a LOT to be desired. I will continue with the series, though. I want to see how the story unfolds. I read this through KU.

When Lilly was a little girl she encountered a person who was wounded but she gave them hope. Her Hope" aka the Assassin" was not supposed to change anything in the life of anyone from the worlds he visited. However, the little sweetheart he encountered changed something in him. Lilly grew and became a beautiful young lady. Another chance encounter with another beautiful young man changed her life forever.
Next her life was threatened when an old lady came to her place of employment. Her "Hope" was there to save her and so begins her new life as the "Chosen" in the Locke..

A fantastic fantasy story, which has captured me...
I loved this story from the first page, the Assassin is just sexy as hell, the Locke I can envisage as a fairy tale place like in the Lord of the Rings.
Lily is delightful and innocent, I just hope she realises what the Assassin is to her before it's too late! Very excited to read the rest of this series, excellent imagination from the author.

Good read
This was a good fanasty read. Lily is a sweet girl who has a white mother and and a Black father. She is growing up in the south so she is mistreated by those around here. One night she stumbles upon a "dog" attacking a man with funny ears. Her saving him changes the course of her life. This wasn't a short book but it was a quick read because it flowed so well. I can't wait to read the next book in thr series

So I love this author and was desperate for another book of hers so tried this. It is Fantasy type. I really don't have the attention span for this long a series and it wasn't for me. Very predictable from what I got through. Check her other books if you are into romance novels. Truly exceptional. This wasn't it for me.

Literally no words to describe how amazing this book is. Rayne is truly a gifted writer. I was trying my damndest to stay awake and read this book but finally fell asleep only to wake up a couple hours later and complete it. The story is so enthralling that I just couldn't stop. Immediately reading the next book.

Elf Assassin is trying to do his job one day when a small child comes to his rescue. She thinks she is saving him from a big dog. But he is fighting a large werewolf from his rhiem. They talk and from that moment on she owns his heart.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. It was entertaining and the story didn't drag. I will say they Ms. Rayane should pay attention to the adjectives uses to describe characters because they aren't always equivalent from one appearance to the next.

Very Good Read
I gave 5 stars because once I started reading I did not want to stop. My first read from this author and WOW....impressed. Little Lilly made fun of, abused, has no idea of her destiny. The Assassin was also unknowing of his own. Very excited to start reading BOOK 2
