College football’s most infamous wide receiver wants to show her that everything’s bigger in the pros.

If I know what's good for me, I'll stay as far away from Drake Rollins as I can...

I have loved football since I was a kid, and now I cover a team professionally.

So it’s just my luck that I get stuck following Drake Rollins around as he tries to make my favorite team.

We knew each other in college, and though I can't stop thinking about him, I know I have to stay away.

He's radioactive, in danger of throwing his life away, and it looks like I'm one of the only people on Earth who sees any potential in him.

How long can I resist this gorgeous and sexy man?

Tackled is book 1 of the Alpha Ballers trilogy, but can be read standalone. It is 62,000 words long and contains an HEA with no cliffhanger. Books 2-3 in the series will follow characters introduced in book 1 as teammates try to win at love and on the field.

*This is not a football heavy story, but unlike other football romances, there is an attempt to get the facts correct, so if you're not into sports, don't worry! It's medium on the sports and heavy on the steam!*

I couldn't finish it. I didn't like it. I didn't hate it either, I even think it has potential. But unfortunately, that's all it has.

I really didn't like the male character, no clue how old he was but he acted like a 13 year old. No, scratch that, I know 13 year olds who are so much better than him! Sorry, maybe he has a good reason... But I wasn't curious enough to find out.

It might be my fault for not liking this book, not the other way around. But ah well, you'll just have to find out for yourself I guess.

Oh how the mighty do fall!

He was full of himself and his sexual romps were notorious. His high-flying lifestyle has finally caught up to him moments before the NFL draft. Off the field, Drake Rollins was a boobs and booze kinda guy and broke all the rules. Expected to be the #1 draft pick, he ended up with nothing. His only chance now was free-agent status.

Lily Pearson was a good girl and a recent graduate of Cal University. She has just been hired as a Boston Globe sports reporter -- her dream job. Too bad that her job depends on the arrogant, A-hole Drake Rollins successfully making it onto the only team that gave the bad boy a shot at an NFL career. It didn’t help that they shared some on-campus history and that Lily still held onto her crush.

I was not impressed. For me, this was another one of those slow-goes that just didn’t quite reach the mark. It had some raw potential and could have been much better. I found the characters very unlikable, the dialogue a bit ho hum with no spontaneity. Even the sexual content was meaningless, repetitive, and less than appealing. This is the second “Tackled I’ve read this month – but Drake and Lily didn’t come close to matching that other one starring Colton and Cassie!

I'll be reading this baby tonight.

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not change my opinion of the book.

I hate to say this but I was disappointed with this. I had fairly high expectations. I was so excited to pick this up last night that I read this in one sitting. But! Yes, there's a but. The main characters were SO hard to like especially Drake. I've never read a character like him. The plot was interesting, it had a potential. But the potential, in my opinion, relied greatly on the hero. Will he change? Will he prove the club wrong and make the team? I felt like I was waiting the whole time for him to develop, to grow up. Man, it sucks to give a rating so low but I had no choice.

I got an ARC courtesy of the author for an honest review. I felt very disconnected to this story and the characters. It was hard to pull yourself into the book and I read a lot of football romance stories but this not I felt it wasn't captured in the right light. Their relationship was instant, going to training camp and then sleeping with her?!?! The characters seemed underdeveloped and no sexual build up nor chemistry to make you have goosebumps.

I was looking forward this book but it wasn't for me. I read another book from this author and I loved it!! This one have editing mistakes as well but the climax was missing in this book.

The concept was good of how athletes was caught in the limelight and it affects them. Where Drake and Lily connected but was only the upside I saw in this.

I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand I liked the storyline, on the other.. I hated the characters.

The premise of the story is a college football player starting out in the NFL. Drake Rollins is a fantastic football player. The problem is what he does off the field. He drinks, sleeps around and gets caught a lot, Not exactly what a professional team wants in a player. Lily is a new reporter who gets to follow Drake around for his first year and report on how he's handling the NFL. They know each other from college and they have a connection and fall in love.

Okay that sounds like a freaking good story right? Bad boy player turns his life around? Sweet! Only I hated Drake. Like so, so much. He was a selfish prick. Even after he's "turned his life around". I feel bad for Lily. I would never want to be stuck with him. Hot guy or not if you're selfish, I don't want you. Lily isn't really that fantastic either. She acts like a child for the entire book.

I wanted to love it because I loved the storyline. But I didn't. It was still enjoyable and I will still read on in the series but this one just wasn't 100% awesome for me.

*** Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review ***
I had the great pleasure of reading this author other books and was astonished at her writing style which is fantastic and noticeable that the author is very talented. The book was very well written, moved along smoothly and the ambiance of the book was truly enjoyed. This is the story of Lily and Drake. Drake is a football player with a magnificent history on as well as off the field. His last encounter was a 19 year old that causes him serious trouble on draft day. It could've been me but I didn't particular like Adam Snyder(the agent). Lily is a journalist with the Boston Globe and kept a low-key profile but remember Drake from college( Cal) and his damaging lifestyle then... The plot twists and ever developing story line just rolls through the pages because they needed and encouraged each other at a time that truly matters. This is an amazing emotional book and I highly  recommend it. KUDOS to the author, you truly tackled this one :)

I was sent an ARC of this book by the author (for which I am very grateful). Tackled is a sexy football player falls for the sports journalist.
Drake is the best football receiver to come out of college. He's also smart and a major player. Too bad his smartness doesn't help him in making smart life choices. Bad choices, partying, & sleeping with the wrong people almost cost Drake his dream of becoming a pro football player. He's hoping for a miracle and a chance to prove himself worthy.......
Lily is a sports journalist in Boston. She's living her dream & excited to help cover the NFL Draft. While there, she witnesses and films a bit of an uproar that in turn lands her shadowing Drake in his hopes of becoming a Patriot.
What happens when the sexy football player and journalist get to know each other??? Well, you'll just have to read this series opener to find out!
I gave this book 4 touchdown scoring stars! And, I can't wait for the sequel! .

Loved it, loved it.

I'm a huge football fan, and love the Patriots. Loved that this football romance actually had some serious, well written football in it. All the draft, training camp....kept me glued. The characters are also very well written. Superb storyline. Read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.

I've received an ARC by this author for a honest review. I liked the storyline and the beginning of this story was fun.Seeing a kick ass football player falling at his arrogant ass.But I've missed the connection between H and h somehow. They know each other from their past and I wished the author had give us more about their time in school together.Because the hot hero kissed the heroine once then and she couldn't forget him since.Tell us more about this kiss!!! Or she was tutoring him back then and that's only short mentioned nothing more. Her feelings for him were on display from the beginning she was all over him but from the hero came almost nothing. At some point I thought it was a bit too much talk about football, the Draft, practice, coaching ....and less about the real topic you see,the romance and beginning of relationship of the two. What I really loved about this story is,there were no annoying characters, cruel or needless drama. Both characters were sweethearts but I wished there were more about them and not the football.I will definitely read more from this author.

This was the first book i've had the chance to read and i totally loved it!!!
Lily starts her new job at the Boston Globe. With a bumpy start, she gets informed that she has to follow Drake as he works to try and get picked for the Patriots football team. She had a crush on him in school, and now that crush has grown...
Drake is trouble, getting arrested, drunk and sleeping with lots of different girls... He is told to settle down or loose his chance on the field!!! With the beautiful Lily following his every move, will he make the team? Or is his ego to big to settle?
The journey is not easy but the energy between the two is amazing and the story follows his progress and their growing relationship! It's a wonderful light story that can be read in one sitting and again, i throughly enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to what Lucy comes up with for her next book as after reading this one, i'm definately a fan forever!!!

ARC for honest review.
This story is awesome. If you love football you will love this story. Drake is chasing his dream of pro football when his off the field activities come back to haunt him. Lily is a die hard football fan and a reporter who just got her 1st assignment. Follow Drake through pre season camp. Together they find that sometimes you just need that 1 person in your corner and everything in life is possible. Can not wait to read more from Lucy Snow and hopefully hear more from Drake and Lily

Drake was supposed to be the next big thing in football, until choices he made changed that. Lily is a journalist with the Boston Globe and a lucky shot at the draft leaves her with the job of covering Drake as he goes through training camp with the Patriots. While working together they give the other the courage they need to keep going. I enjoyed this book a lot. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review

This is by far my favorite Lucy Snow book! From the very beginning she pulls you into the story. Her character development is right on point. She makes you root for them, both as individuals facing their new careers, and them as a couple. Most of all, the story is engaging and sweet and the sex is hot! This is absolutely worth the read!! I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lily is a sports journalist and Drake is a college football player trying to get into the pros. Their story is sweet with hot sex. This book has the perfect balance between their careers and personal lifes. I can't wait to read the rest of Lily and Drake's story. I highly recommend this book.

ARC - My first book from this author.

It was an easy read with minimal drama (a welcome change) and it was definitely different to what I was expecting.

The pace of the story was fast - maybe a touch too fast in parts as a little more detail to certain aspects would have been good. Overall I enjoyed it and now
am going to give the authors other books a read!

A heart melting and refreshing story. Behind any great man stand a fantastic woman. She forced him to confront things about himself that he didn’t like, and because of her he was a much better man.

Don't miss this one. A must read book

I nearly about gave up on this book cause I just felt like it was too easy. Their connection, their chemistry at first was okay but I felt it was too rushed. Lily gave in too easily and yet her character was pretty awesome and as for Drake yes your typical college playboy but sweet.

Drake thinks he is God's gift to football and everyone should just overlook his life off the field and focus on what he can do with a football. Unfortunately, the draft committee does not agree and disinvites him from the draft on the day of. He is crushed, but is also pissed. Lily tutored Drake at Cal and knew he was trouble, but had a big heart. When she sees him not be allowed into the draft, she follows him. What happens in the next days and weeks is something neither saw coming.

No cliffhanger
Standalone though part of a larger series
Told from both POVs
Editing issues throughout

I really tried to love this book. I really did. I love football romances but something about this book just didn't do it for me.

Drake was a total d-bag at the beginning of the book. He thought his poop didn't stink and then out of no where he has a heart of gold. It just didn't ring true. Lily while into sports seemed to worship him in an unhealthy way. She didn't even care he was a total jerk to her and everyone else cause he was just so darn dreamy. Yuck!

I will say the book got better towards the end but it could never quite recover from the lackluster beginning.

I will think about giving this author another shot in the future but for now I won't be buying the second book.
