The Earthen Chronicles
Tara Abbott’s first volume in her ‘Twaren Prophecies’ series, ‘The Earthen Chronicles’ focuses on a troubled young man named Ben, who desires revenge against a mysterious beast that destroyed his village and killed his parents. While on his quest to avenge them, he meets an old magician named Theo and learns about an ancient prophecy.
This ancient prophecy foretells of a young man wielding a sword and cutting off a dragon’s head. The dragon is symbolic of the perverse and twisted sorcerer, Zarban. A being that no one in the kingdom has ever seen, yet everyone lives in fear of his name.
Throughout his journey, Ben discovers more about himself and what it takes to be a hero. Besides Theo’s wisdom guiding him, Ben meets many allies who wish to help him fulfill the prophecy, such as Kayla, an intelligent and feisty elf maiden, and Toto, a dragon that is as sly as he is fierce. Together, their friendship and bravery will be put to the test.

I was pleasantly surprised that I could visualize the characters in this book as the descriptions were Fabulous! A Book read that has so much action that there is never a dull moment! Characters that meet by chance and yet are drawn to each other to save the land of Twaren! Evil and Mystery takes you on a roller coaster ride and you find yourself "cheering" them on to Victory! A Must Read for Young Adults....can't wait for the Sequel! Such an Interesting Journey/Adventure I want to read More!
