I took a break from reading for a really long time, I was just invested in my college textbooks. My mom picked up this book for me, and even had it signed! This book reeled me back into the world of fantasy that I'd been missing out on for a while. I'm so excited for the release of the next book 💕
If you need a little magic in your life, look no further! Where to begin with the crazy adventure?! Well the characters were all extremely unique... not just their appearence, attitudes, motivations, and secrets .... even the way they liked to eat pancakes was unique! My favorite character was Amarth because he had all the best traits of an evil guy! The character development was outstanding. As well as just about everything else. SPOILER WARNING The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is because I felt like everyone's initial reactions when they discovered a portal in the backyard, or Nicole being magic, or another dimension/realm existing, it didnt seem real enough. They all took it in stride really quickly and made it seem like it wasn't a huge deal. But other than that I applaud and thank you CC Rae for such an awesome story. Keep up the good work! I just hope someday I can write a book half as good as you. I can't wait for book two!
It pains me to put 4 stars.... truly. More like 4.5 but Goodreads is dumb and doesn't have half star ratings.
I just finished reading this book about 5 minutes ago and I am already eagerly awaiting the sequel! C.C. Rae is a fantastic author that knows exactly how to keep your interest. The character development was great, it makes you really feel for them. It is not predictable as a lot of fantasy novels are. I loved all of the twists that were hidden within this book. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new read :)
Every story has own secrets... I could say a million of words about this book but I will say only one: epic. The story is really interesting so you're reading it quickly and you're pleased with every page, every next chapter. In my opinion that's really good. Characters are another reason to say "yes" to this book. Trust me, this book has everything what you need is you like fantasy.
I loved this book! It's very well written, and the plot is very intriguing. At first it seemed a little odd how everyone just accepted the appearance of magic and portals and (spoiler) dragons so easily, with barely a raised eyebrow, but hey - everyone reacts to things differently. At the end of the day, it didn't end up detracting from the story for me.
I really enjoyed getting to know these characters, and I'm looking forward to getting to know them more in the next book. Especially Gordon...I won't give anything away but I REALLY loved the small bit we saw of this character and am really hoping to see a lot more of him in Lost Prophecy! *squeals*
When I want to escape reality, I choose books, but mainly books like this that get me through everything while transporting me into their world on the pages. Bonus points for strong independent MC befriending a dragon. Double bonus for a healthy relationship between family members and as I recall, there's going to be an ace character and I finally get my representative in amazing magic trilogy. Writing reviews isn't my strong feature, but I really wanted to say something. Now, onto the next adventure!
I just finished reading this book and it was probably one of the best books I haver ever read. I really enjoyed it from beginning to end and it did not dissapoint. I recommend this book to anybody looking for a good and enjoyable read and I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out.
It moves way too fast. Doesn't develop character or present situation thoroughly when there's a new situation thrusted upon you. That was my only issue; it was a massive info overload. Other than that, I really did like it :)
This book is very interesting it must continue. The little splash of magic it dazzled in my life was wonderful. I’d definitely read it again, super unique characters it’s definitely didn’t from any book I’ve read. Very refreshing I recommend it without a doubt, take your time you’ll enjoy it!!
This book is an interesting rendition of a common YA Fantasy trend. The plot is the strongest aspect of the book. I think readers of YA will enjoy this book most, but it doesn't quite transcend the genre like some other books in the genre do. It's a fast read with some pretty cool moments.
