He dropped his hand and walked forward, the door to the cooler wobbling slightly before it slammed shut to her dismay. “No, no” she cried as she pushed past him, pressing her palms against the door to force it back open.
“What’s wrong?” he asked behind her, his voice echoing in the small space. “You, that’s what”, she said angrily, slapping her palms against the door before turning around.
“You just locked us in, dumbass”.
The first of two tales involving the cocky and incredibly rich Grier Brothers: In this story, Lindsey Jenkins has taken over her father’s bar in a small town due to his failing health. She spends her days fighting off the locals and dreaming of what she could and she be doing with her life. Things get a little more exciting when one of the Grier brothers walk into the bar.
Jacob Grier is the second out of the three Grier brothers. In his attempt to find a replacement bartender for his brother’s (Eric) engagement party, he finds Lindsey behind the bar of the local pub. Cash in hand, attitude and convincing smile…check. Jacob is cocky confident that he can get whatever he wants with a little flash and some cash.
In all the back and forth Jacob continues to devilishly pursue Lindsey to get what he wants. They find themselves literally locked in close quarters with no way of escape except rescue. What will happen inside and will they make it out? And if so, will the tenacious Grier get what he’s after?
