A thrilling dark comedy about a group of middle-aged men who take their revenge upon a world that has passed them by.
Erin Mondragon grew up with everything. But when he goes to prison for a crime he didn’t commit, he seeks revenge on those who destroyed him.
To take vengeance against the U. S., Mondragon enlists John Taylor, along with a former soldier, an engineer whose father went bankrupt and committed suicide, and several other misfits whose lives have taken a bad turn.
Taylor Imports has been in John Taylor’s family for generations. Now his company has been taken over by a corporate raider, his wife has left him for a younger man, and his son spends his money while refusing to have anything to do with him.
When his old friend Erin strolls back into his life, John is glad to see him.
Erin talks John into getting involved in a local theatre group and learning to speak Russian.
As John stumbles through Chekhov, he has no idea that this is the first step in Erin’s masterplan for revenge.
On a fishing trip, he introduces John to Colonel Michael Method, a man with a violent streak and a violent past.
Although hesitant, John gets on board with Erin’s plans to regain their wealth, and make the government pay.
Together they plan the biggest act of domestic terrorism the world has ever seen.
Erin seems to have planned everything perfectly, but no one counted on a sharp eyed waitress in a roadside diner in Arizona, or a small town sheriff, Sheriff Bob Mathers, the only competent man in the nation, would become wise to their plot.
What will become of the men who seek revenge?
Will they be successful or vengeance catch up with them…?
Deadly Waters is a thriller and a dark comedy about a group of middle-aged men who take their revenge upon a world that has passed them by. It is an expertly plotted thriller filled with political intrigue and destruction that will leave you wondering if good guys really exist anymore.
Theodore Judson is the author Fitzpatrick's War, The Martian General's Daughter and Hell Can Wait.
This was dramatically, politically, sarcastically written. This novel is a great conspiracy fictional based worldwind adventure. It just goes to show Karma is a bitch, and justice is mine one way or the other say's the bible right? Well anyway if this story was true which truly it could be,because God knows alot of these disasters aren't that natural or that conspiratorial. Most terrorism is born and bred right here in the USA, and the people in the power of position and hierarchy to shove that shit under fake paperwork and old world laws and obligations will keep letting this shit happen as long as their economy can survive it. I enjoyed reading between the lines in this somewhat daunting yet funny drama of a tale! It's no secret the media rules popular everything!
I enjoyed this thriller which tells the tale of two embittered US businessmen who decided to take revenge on what they see as a world which has treated them very badly. Recruiting a former special services soldier, an engineer whose father committed suicide after becoming bankrupt and a team of misfits, a plan is set in motion for what turns out to be the worst terrorist attack and loss of life that the peacetime USA has suffered. Both a thriller and a very dark comedy, it is also the tale of one man's journey to revenge the death of a murdered friend. I can recommend this novel to anyone looking for something different to the usual run of the mill thriller.
A brilliantly plotted, blackly amusing, cynical satire on just about every aspect of U.S.A. today. The author takes intelligent, well-earned swipes at all levels of politics, law enforcement, social inequity, capitalism and the financial sector, in a fast-moving tale of deadly sabotage for private gain. The sole person to come out of the tale with his integrity intact is an ex sheriff’s deputy whose motivation to revenge the death of a friend. The book is very well written with a complex yet easily followed plot, brilliant observation and description of a vast array of characters, scenery and action. A tour de force. I want to read more of this writer’s work.
Surprisingly entertaining and even occasionally as funny as advertised. The plot is very elaborate and the laughs tend to be of a political satire nature with occasional slapstick and definitely on the dark side. If you're into that sort of thing, this is a fun read. One in need of an editor to notice things like premature use of technology or spelling errors, silly things, but not enough to distract from the story. The book reads relatively quickly for its page count and provides a perfectly decent amount of distraction.
A clever and interesting plot. A group of men who have suffered an injustice plot a way to get back what they see as rightfully theirs. The plan involves mass murder and destruction of some iconic American sites. They, in turn, are hunted down and brought to a similar fate themselves by a determined small town deputy sheriff.
Not my cup of tea. Writing was okay, but I guess I missed the "dark comedy" part of the book. I found the characters to be too cliché and downright stupid at times. In some cases the characters are so unbelievably stupid and inept that you can safely skip over the chapter and not really miss anything.
