Hawk Hunter returns in his eleventh Wingman adventure, leading his friends and allies to stamp out evil overlords in Asia. Having finally freed the continental U.S. (again) in book ten, he forms the First American Expeditionary Air Fleet to face off against the diabolical Asian Mercenary Cult. The array of weaponry and aircraft is delightfully over-the-top, as it always is in this long-running series of men's adventure novels. The series is definitely not for everyone, but I never get tired of it.

Mack Maloney’s Wingman books are fun and enjoyable reads. This adventure was no exception. Hawks ability to defeat even the greatest odds and overwhelming numbers with his quick wits and supernatural awareness is taken to the Jungles of what was once Viet Nam. It is split into three epic parts, each taking place in an arena where there is no way Hawk and his American forces can prevail, only to win in the end.
I have enjoyed all of the Wingman books and this one keeps that streak alive. It introduces us to a new struggle for the Americans to champion and shows us a glimpse of the lingering influence of Viktor. How will Hawk defeat his demons, can he possible prevail, of course he can. The fun isn’t in if he can win but in how amazing the circumstances will be. We are able to see him take up the controls of his F-16XL again and show what a true hero is made of.
Can’t wait to dip into the next one.

Yet another installment in the Wingman series. Hawk Hunter is still flying vintage warbirds and shooting up the bad guys.
