When a mysterious spaceship appears above Cambria, Zoe remains skeptical that it’s anything but an elaborate hoax. By the time the first spaceship is joined by two others, Zoe reluctantly admits that Earth has been invaded, even though it’s a pretty lame invasion: the aliens look remarkably human and keep to themselves. From what reporters are able to learn about them, they seem incredibly arrogant and boring anyway.
After meeting Peyton, one of Earth’s newest residents, Zoe feels an immediate attraction although she is reluctant to become involved with someone who isn’t even human. But she soon discovers that these aliens are far more dangerous than they’ve led everyone to believe, and the secrets they are hiding may signal the destruction of her entire planet.
Written from Zoes POV, not a bad story. Some bits of the story needed more depth but on the whole it was ok. The characters are likeable and you can feel Zoe's emotions although Im not sure how she reasons things out in her head when she decides to do certain things. Peyton leads her on all the way throughout the book and hurts her with his on/off feelings, emotions and lies. I was so glad at the end of the book she saw some sense and kind of moved on with Adrian as much as she could . Realising Peyton may have lost her to Adrian he now wants her. Thankfully she got a backbone and told him no. I dont really like Peyton as a male lead. Based on alien/human interactions and adventure. Some sexual content.
This book was well written and definitely had me turning pages.
However, the entire time I was both enjoying getting to know the MCs and being completely frustrated by them at the same time.
And even more frustrating is the cliffhanger ending - and no apparent way to resolve it since I can’t seem to locate the rest of the books of this trilogy currently available for sale on any sites.
So overall intriguing story but left me feeling a bit incomplete.
Wonderful book. Interesting story that captures the imagination, and holds it until the end. Great use of words and language. It will be a pleasure to continue reading the rest of the series to see the relationship between Zoe and Peyton work out.
I wanted to read this because the book blurb was so interesting. I like the storyline, but there is yet to be a character that I like. I want to know what the aliens are, so I might read the next and hopefully the characters become more likeable for me.

Summary:
Received in exchange for an honest review.
Stories about aliens arriving at Earth range from benevolent beings wanting to help to races intent on destroying humanity entirely. This story took a different direction entirely. At first, no one knew why had arrived, but even the varied speculation was vastly different when the truth. Zoe refused to accept their story about their star dying even when everyone around her was fawning over the visitors. The funniest thing was it her doubt was what earned Peyton's, a visitor, interest. While the visitors mostly human appearance allowed them to seemingly fit it, there was more to their motives then anyone, even Zoe, thought. The secrets they kept could endanger not only them, but everyone on Earth. It will take a strong woman to stand for what she believes in even in the face of situations unknown to the inhabitants on Earth.
From start to finish this book held me spellbound and I for one look forward to reading the next book in the Cambria Code series.
Omg this book was amazing. I loved the science. I loved Peyton and Zoe. I loved everything about it. I'd give this book 10 stars if I could.
Peyton's Myth begins with an invasion by a race of aliens known as the Cambrians (so named for the town they landed in). The Cambrians are human-like and, at first, state that they mean no harm to the humans. The military decides to let them stay on Earth and holes them up in a hotel. The main character, Zoe, has a run in with Peyton, the head of security for the aliens. At first, she hates him and what he represents (hello! Alien invader) but eventually he wears her down and sparks begin to fly. When he asks her to return to his home planet aboard his ship, she says yes. What happens next? In a word, everything. Love, lies, and a certain drink that I wouldn't mind getting my hands on. Peyton's myth (referring to a lie he tells) is interesting, light hearted, and fun read. It'll make you laugh, it'll break your heart, and it'll make you think (you'll eat the muscles of the cow, but drinking the milk freaks you out?) The characters are relatable and engaging. It barrelled me to the end, and I was so wrapped up I immediately went to download part 2. Excellent book.
I'll be honest wasn't sure what to expect. The aliens have come to earth. Zoe thought it was a hoax and takes some time to come to terms with it. When she meets the head of security Peyton it's purely accidental. Their relationship is stormy to say the least, he appears all closed up. What is beneath is far from it. She is sassy and smart mouthed but, still a woman who has a heart and he finds ways to break it continually. Will she or can she forgive him?
The story is good and the characters were good, although I thought Zoe was written as a shallow person. I don't know if she was supposed to come across that way but to me she did. Maybe her character will change in the next book having read the sypnosis it is possible. Peyton came across very secretive which makes you want to keep reading to find out what happens. The story does not end on a cliffhanger as such but you are left at a reasonable place at the end of the book, but the story of Zoe and Peyton is not at an end. Still it is a good read.
