Willow Creek #1-4

Willow Creek Series

Rate this book
ALL FOUR BOOKS IN THE SERIES IN ONE BOX SET! Last To Know He was just a boy. And I was just a girl. But if that’s all there was to the story it wouldn’t be very interesting, would it? Never Too Late I’d never met anyone quite like Mathias Wade. He was brooding and arrogant, but I loved him anyway. Together we were wild and uncontained—a hurricane raging. Then I had to leave, and words were exchanged that could never be undone. But now I was back, and Mathias better watch out, because this bitch wasn’t finished with him. Game. Set. Match. All is fair in love and war, right? In Your Heart I thought I had found love. I thought I had found my forever. I’d never been more wrong in all my life. Take A Chance I had life all figured out. Married with a baby on the way I stupidly believed that things were perfect. But then the good guy I fell in love with turned out to not be as good as I thought. I was left alone to pick up the pieces of my life and provide for my daughter. And then I met him. Hayes. The bad boy that just might not be so bad. Also includes 26,000 words of compiled rewritten scenes as well as brand new scenes that take place after the ending of the final book to give you even more of your favorite band.

Loved this series so much! Great New Adult Contemporary Romance about four rock stars-each book tells the tale of how one member of the band falls in love. These books are funny, sexy and sweet-everything you could want in a love story and more. Even if you've already read all four books, I highly recommend the Box Set. There is so much extra content in here that you do not want to miss. I was sad to see the series end, and those bonus scenes at the end gave me a chance to stay in the world of Willow Creek a little while longer. Great Romance Collection by Micalea Smeltzer!

This is a great series and now comes in one box set!

Last To Know ~ Book 1
This is a great read, that I had trouble putting down so I could go to bed. I love all the characters, yes even Mathias, and I can't wait to start reading his book!

Emma is a quirky girl. She doesn't really care what others think of her. She is different, but that's a great thing. She is a reader, plays the piano, and loves her mom and her best friend, Sadie.

Sadie takes Emma , almost against her will, to the fair so they can see the local group, Willow Creek, in concert. Emma has no clue who they are, or their music. She decides to just read while Sadie goes. She can't find Sadie after the concert is done. But who she does find, or rather, who finds her, changes everything for her.

Maddox is the person who finds Emma and helps keep her company, then takes her to her home after the concert. Oh and he is also the drummer for Willow Creek. He is an amazing guy, and not your typical 19 year old rockstar!

Watching these two characters fall in love is great. You know it's real love and not just "high school" love. I hope that makes sense to you. It's a slow, fun path these two take.

"Just so you know, I don't regret kissing you, and one day you're going to ask me to and I'm going to kiss you until you forget who you are."

These two tell each other about their lives and their pasts. But Emma still doesn't know he is the drummer.

When she finds out about his secret, I wasn't sure how the story would go. If Emma could forgive him or not. Her mom does give the best advice though.

"Love is never easy, Emmie. In fact, it can be impossible. But love is always worth fighting for - if it's the right kind of love."

Even though this book is about two people in their late teens, ti wasn't written that way. Both of these characters are wiser than their years. This is definitely a series I will read more of.

Never too Late ~Book 2

This is the second book in the Willow Creek series. They don't have to be read in order. But, I highly suggest that you do. You will have a better idea about how Mathias is if you read Last to Know first. This is a great series and I want the next book now. This book takes place a few years after the Last to Know.

Remy Parker is wild, or that's how she comes across. She dated Mathias in high school. They really did love each other in their own way. She had to move away with her family. Mathias broke her heart with what he told her that day in the parking lot.

She is now 23 and back in town. She knows she will run into him at some point. She wants revenge. She wants to break him, like he broke her.

For Mathias, Remy is the one that got away. And he regrets it everyday.

We see Mathias change so much in this book. We get to see a whole different side to him. I knew he wasn't the jerk he was in the first book. I knew there was more to him.

Remy's plan falls apart. She still loves him. And he still loves her.

"The thing about the heart is, once it's given itself completely to someone it's theirs forever, no matter the circumstances."

But Remy is keeping a huge secret. Once it comes out, only Hope can get them through it.

I love that both of these characters are flawed. I love them both and I am hooked on this series. I can't wait for more. Have a few tissues by you, because your eyes may leak a few times. I know mine did!

In Your Heart ~ Book 3
I absolutely love the boys of Willow Creek. I have loved each of their stories so far and this one is no different. I love the whole best friends to lovers’ storyline between these characters. This could be read as a standalone, but you will miss out on the back stories, so I highly recommend that you read them in order. You won’t be disappointed, I promise.

Sadie is best friends with Emma, and because of Emma’s relationship with Maddox, Ezra and Sadie became best friends also. Sadie has always had a crush on him, but never did anything about it. Sadie became engaged and backed away from Ezra. But once she lands in jail, it’s Ezra she calls.

Ezra is an awesome guy. He is the bassist for Willow Creek. He doesn’t talk a lot, but when he does, you better listen. He is the quiet type.

“For you, it was the right decision at the time. Life is a series of choices, that we make, some of them are good, and some of them are not, but everything always works out in the end. Things will be better now, you’ll see.”

I love how Sadie propositioned him. They both want each other but are too scared it will ruin their friendship. I can’t blame them for being scared.

This is a great read. I’m ready for Hayes’ story now!

Take A Chance ~ Book 4

I think this is the BEST Willow Creek book! I couldn’t put it down at all. I love all four of these guys, but Hayes is my favorite.

Hayes is the guitar player in Willow Creek. He was a player, but when he met Arden and Mia, it all changed for him. They were it for him. He just had to make Arden see it too. Which wasn’t easy, but he is persistent that’s for sure. He didn’t give up. Most guys would have.

Arden is a single mom of an amazing little girl, Mia. She has some major walls built up to protect both herself and Mia. I can’t blame her, I think anyone that went through what she did, would have those same walls.

Hayes crashed through all of them and knocked them completely down. He is amazing with little Mia.

“It’s crazy, really, what you’ve done to me. Before you I thought the way I was living my life was great. I thought I was happy, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I haven’t been in a committed relationship…ever – because two months in high school doesn’t count. Then I met you and suddenly I couldn’t stop thinking about you or wanting to be around you. I wanted to see you smile and hear you laugh and for the first time in my life it wasn’t about sex.”

I was so worried the last few chapters and a few tears of relief may have leaked from my eyes. I couldn’t imagine going through that. I had to go and give my little girl a huge hug!

What Hayes said to Mia in the epilogue may have had my eyes leaking some also.

This is an awesome series. You need to read it. I would love updates on all the couples. I’m sad this is the final book.

5 out of 5 Stars!!!

I read this series over the last 18 months or so and have loved these characters. The bonus scenes in this book made me realize how much more I’m going to miss them now that their series is complete, but it also helped shed some light on things that come about in the books as well as the spin off series with the kids of the band members.

I love all of the guys, but after reading all four books and the bonus materials, Maddox still holds an extra special place in my heart. I think it’s his kid-like attitude that I admire so much (since my whole life is about as opposite as that as it can get!) In the bonus materials, I read things that made me swoon and made me amazed. He is just the ultimate drummer boyfriend!

Without giving anything away that you don’t know from reading the books, this is my favorite quote from the bonus materials. This is Mathias talking to Remy before their baby boy is born:

“Just admit it, Rem, the baby’s first word will not be mom or dad. It’s going to be fuck, because I fucking love saying the word fuck.”

I am missing these guys and gals all over again and hope that someday soon I’ll have time to do a full re-read because they are great people!!

(Below is a brief synopsis of my reviews for each book individually)
Last To Know
4 out of 5 stars

When they meet, Maddox doesn’t tell Emma who he is and their relationship is full of adventures and life and really brings Emma out of her normal and into the world in a big way. She is so inexperienced that every time they do something, it’s her first time...even eating in certain restaurants and enjoying certain music.

When I finished the book, I had tears rolling down my face. Happy tears from the story line and having been able to enjoy Maddox and Emma’s relationship. Sad tears knowing the story was over and I wouldn’t get to spend my evenings with them anymore. Maddox and Emma are some of my favorite fictional characters and I hope that many, many more people will have the chance to enjoy them as well.

Never Too Late
4 out of 5 stars

This novel was much more sexy than the first. The characters in this novel constantly had me wanting the best for everyone. The emotions were so far and wide that I found myself feeling something with every page.

Mathias is just plain swoon-worthy! I can’t help but get goosebumps when I read this quote:

“It’s a rare kind of love, and one that should be celebrated and embraced, so that’s what I did, because trying to pretend it didn’t exist was fucking impossible.”

I am really enjoying Ms. Smeltzer’s writing style and can’t wait to see what happens with the band next!

In Your Heart
4 ½ out of 5 stars

I love all of the Willow Creek guys, but Ezra really got to me. His heart was so big and so open that I just couldn’t help but fall in love with him, too.

I think these guys might have some of the best book boyfriend quotes I’ve read. At 9%, Ezra had me swooning with this simple quote when he was trying to comfort Sadie:

“tears aren’t a sign of weakness, but of strength of the heart. They show you care and caring is never a bad thing.”

However, at the same time, I loved this book because we really got to hang out and spend time with our other favorite Willow Creek couples. Knowing that Maddox and Emma were getting married was so much fun and to watch Sadie and Emma’s relationship get renewed was also good for the story. Knowing how protective Mathias is of Remy and his baby was comical and still exactly what I would have expected. I can’t wait to read Hayes’ story and find out just how great he can be, too.

Take A Chance
4 out of 5 stars

I am so sad that this series is what seems like over now. I have loved every one of the Willow Creek boys and Hayes was no exception. I did not always like Arden as much as some of the other Willow Creek girls, but she did finally grow on me and I found myself only wanting the very best for the couple.

I loved that Hayes was funny, cocky, protective and just such a swell guy. He was an amazing guy with Mia (Arden's daughter), but when he was being his usual goofy self, that's when I really loved him the most:

I smiled. "So...are you going to feed me on this date or let me starve?"
"Baby, I'm a feast for your eyes, isn't that enough?" He jested.

But then again, he could put the swoon on and totally have me melting before him:

"...you're all I want and what I feel for you is never going to go away. And maybe it's too soon to say I love you, but I know I do. I love you. I love you so damn much that it scares me more than anything else ever has."

Book #1: Last To Know

Hmm..well that was interesting. But It was amazing.

Maddox and Emma what a couple. I mean Emma is everything that is not a girly girl, she is indeed different but it is in a way that is endearing. Maddox is quite honestly a very open person, well one side of him.

This story had me going aww and that’s sweet in parts and it just kept building and building. The relationship that blossoms throughout this book is special and is relateable at times. A teenager meets a boy and slowly sees a side to him that she grows to like then eventually love. Emma is a special girl, can play piano and write, perfect match for Maddox. Maddox is the attentive boyfriend and possessive but not to possessive. He has a soft and sweet side that sticks out more than the other.

If you want a teen romance that has its great up moments and a big down moment then this is the book to read. Maddox and Emma are not easily forgotten and I cant wait to see what else lies ahead for them in the future because great things seem like they could come from these two once they put there heads together and make things happen.

Book #2: Never Too Late

Very very emotional.

This book throws you into soo many moods and emotions throughout that I almost never got bored with it.

Mathias Wade, the brooding singer of Willow Creek and twin brother to Maddox Wade the drummer for the group. Quiet and Lethal is how I would describe him in a few words. He is guarded and doesn’t open to many people in the world but that all changes when he sees her again.

Remy Parker, Fiesty and sassy, the woman that will bring mathias to his knees, again. She has endured so much over the course of seven years that it would be hard not to judge her or blame her for some of the actions that she takes in this book. Ultimately, once she sees Mathias again her plan almost works but then she changes course, is it for the better or will it end up worst for her in the long run?

This book is very very feelsy, and I by that I mean you can relate to how each of them is feeling at different times in the book. I loved this book and these two and you even get to see more of Emma and Maddox throughout not to mention Ezra and Hayes as well, oh yeah and cant forget Sadie. Now that’s a story I need to get into.

Book #3: In Your Heart

Yes! I have found my favorite Willow Creek boy, Ezra Collins!

Ezra Collins, brother of Maddox and Mathias, well kind of. I wont even go into that story there, you need to read the first 3 books for that one. Ezra is the quiet one, unlike Mathias he is almost open but still guarded and quiet and doesn’t speak his mind as much as everyone.

Sadie Westbrook, best friend to Emma and a best friend that anyone would be lucky to have on there side. Forced to uproot her life because of a certain douche canoe, BTW braden you suck!, Sadie moves in with her best friend, insert Ezra. To be completely honest I seen this coming since book 1 and I was hoping with fingers crossed for this book and these two. I was disappointed in Never To Late when I found out about her but I am soo happy with the outcome here! This series is definitely turning into a favorite of mine that’s for sure.

Book #4: Take A Chance

Joshua Hayes..enough said! i picked entirely too soon before!

There may be a tie for my first favorite in this series, ah hell who am I kidding, Hayes is it! He is my one!
I ultimately loved this book. Hayes and Arden are just everything and wittle Mia, she just makes your heart want to burst out of your chest.

Joshua Hayes, ultimate player from Willow Creek gone soft and the committed type after one night with a normal woman with a normal life, insert Arden. These two are amazing and I can admit that this story is my favorite out of the bunch. The family dynamic that comes from this story oozes real life and it couldn’t have been more real at times.

Coming into a family as an outsider is a tough thing but Hayes took It in strides and he did it so amazingly and I fell even more for him at that point. This story is raw and real. If you want to fall in love with the characters and swoon over them and hang on for an emotional ride then this is the one for you. I am glad that I read this series and it ended the way it did, do I want more from this group? Hell yes! But too much would make it boring and I don’t want that. Love stories can only go on for so long before its drowned out. These ended at the right time for everyone. Through and through very enjoyable reads.

I want to be part of the Willow Creek family!! This series is definitely going into my top ten of 2016. I could not put the books down, and I am sad it's over because I want more. Be prepared for a massive book hangover with this series. I have read the Second Chance series by Micalea Smeltzer, but did not realize this was the same author. What did I learn, I am one-clicking the rest of her books, Micalea Smeltzer knows how to give you the escape your most desperately are looking for, along with some of the best book boyfriends you long for.

Last to Know- Here we meet Maddox and Emma, the youngest of the love duet this series give us as this is a teenage love. Maddox is a hoot, he's the cocky boy that you cannot help but love. Emma is a hippie book loving girl who has no experience with boys. Maddox is beyond sweet, and goes out of his way to give Emma the summer to remember. He has a secret though, and Emma is the last to now. Does the secret tear them apart? You have to read to find out.

Never Too Late- Mathias and Remy. This story is set 7 years later from book 1. There is a lot of heat in this book. Mathias is Maddox twin brother, but other than looks, they have nothing in common. Mathias is an arrogant sulking man still trying to recover from his past. Remy is his high school sweetheart that comes home to help family. They reconnect, but it's not all butterflies and rainbows. They are the most explosive couple, but the love is so thick you can feel it in the pages of the book.

In Your Heart-Ezra and Sadie.. The author had me laughing out loud with the first page of this book. Sadie is Emma’s best friend but she is a spitfire who has no worries to let you know how she feels. Hilarious is an understatement. Ezra is the quiet one who spends a lot of time internalizing his life. Sadie finds herself in a bind and calls the one friend she knows will come through for her, Ezra. They are friends, but there is more. Is it love or lust? That is what they need to find out.

Take a Chance- Hayes and Arden. Hayes is so funny. A child at heart, but a man in every other way. Arden finds her way into his heart, but she is scared because he is the rebellious of the 4 friends, and she not only has to worry about her heart, but the heart of her daughters as well. Hayes does not give up and fights to show Arden he is ready to settle down from his party nights and one night stands. This book has the most suspense as Arden’s past comes back haunt her, but Hayes proves to be the man he is as he does not leave her side.

What I liked most about this series is the family dynamics between the 4 friends as well as the woman they bring into their life. I also loved how the pacing of each booked flowed with every couple. Each book might be about a specific couple, but you get everyone in every book. If you loved Maddox and Emma like I did, you don't have to say goodbye with book 1, because you get plenty more in books 2-4. Trust me when I say you won't be disappointed with the series. The best part of a box set, you don't have to wait, the next book is waiting for you.

LAST TO KNOW:

Maddox is a very likable boy, "you definitely were. It's okay. You can look, but no touching below the belt...yet." I gaped at him. He did not just say that. He laughed, continuing to play with me. "I like to know girls a little better before I unleash the beast. It might scare them." He's an upfront boy, and likes to speak his mind, "that, my dear Emma, would require a sex change," he pointed a finger at me, "and I'm quite happy with my member. It's impressive, I assure you." The other band members were quite entertaining you have the mysterious Hayes, the moody bad-boy Mathias and then the over-dramatic but highly entertaining Ezra who can sometimes overreact over things, "oh, God! Did I break her nose?" Ezra Exclaimed, echoing my question." I'm really looking forward to the other boys having books.

NEVER TOO LATE:
You would think the stars of the book would be Remy and Mathias but in actuality it was gramma, "I wanted some cookies,” she called back, “so I’m making some God darn cookies and no one can stop me." I bet you a hundred dollars that Mathias was the kid in school that hated to share because the boy still hates to share, "I want you to be mine,” he growled lowly, “and only mine." He tries to accommodate his woman, "Would you like me to give you my credit card so you can go to Pier-Effing-One and make the place all feminine and prissy?” He waved a hand wildly through the air." Gramma likes to make sure Mathias is right for her granddaughter so she had to check out everything about him, "have you been working out?” My grandma asked him, reaching up to grasp his bicep through the material of his shirt." When asked about how she likes Mathias's house Remy of course has to be honest, "I haven’t seen much, you know, besides your c***. But it was pretty nice. I quite like it actually." I loved this book it was dirtier and grittier than Maddox's and I loved that.

IN YOUR HEART:

Ezra knows how to compliment his woman, "really, because I feel like a winner from where I’m standing! You have a nice a**!” He yelled back." Ezra knows what to do in a dire situation and gets company unexpectedly, "I laughed, biting my lip. “Uh, Ezra…you might want to hide that?” I pointed to his hard-on tenting his shorts. He cursed again and headed for the bathroom. “Are you seriously going to jerk-off?” I hissed under my breath." Sometimes he just goes right in for the kill, "he grinned. “You’ve been prancing around in that tiny excuse for a bikini teasing me all effing day. Do you have any idea how difficult this has been to hide?” He pointed to his ***k." Ezra was the one band member I couldn't wait to get a book for he's funny, good looking and I loved him, a tad bit sad that his story has now been told but I'm sure we'll see him in Hayes's book.

TAKE A CHANCE:
Hayes is like a big kid, he was so lovable. Mia stole the show that little girl was freakin' adorable, sweet and funny, and at her tender young age of three she knows what works for her, “duh, but dresses make me pwettier.” Hayes really understands that Mia will always come first in Arden's life, “don’t apologize.” He rubbed his hands up and down my arms. “Go. It’s okay.” He smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll just be over here taking a cold shower and jacking myself off.” This was a bittersweet read sweet because it was Hayes and we all knew his story was going to be good, but bitter because this is the end of the series. I really loved these boys and who knows maybe they'll be some novellas featuring them

This series revolves around the 4 band members of Willow Creek, and the love and obstacles that they endure together and apart. This is one of those great series where each book is better than the last and you get to watch the characters grow and develop into people you never want to let go of.

In Last to Know, we meet Emma and Maddox. Their story is undeniably sweet and filled with firsts. First love, and breathless and heartwarming moments. The adventure and journey that these two take is adorable and so fun to read. Even for a cynic like myself, the sweetness of this story is irresistible. This is also where we get to meet everyone, and we get acquainted with the band.

In Never Too Late, we get to know Matias better. He's no longer just the angry twin brother and instead takes on the role of a man on a mission of redemption. The story of Remy and Matias is heart achingly real. They are swimming in dangerous waters and seem to be one another's only shot at salvation. This is an amazing second chance story, and a great addition to the Willow Creek collection.

In Your Heart is possibly one of my favorites of the set. It's a classic friends to lovers story, and starts off with a confused and down on her luck Sadie. She's made a lot of mistakes, but Ezra has always been there when she needed him most. This time is no different, suddenly living in close quarters these two start to explore the depths of their friendship and have to decide if there are some lines that are worth crossing.

Take a Chance is just... amazing. I might be biased because Josh Hayes was always my favorite, but this story did not disappoint. Arden is determined and independent, and the spark between her and Hayes is undeniable. Sure, they have loads of issues to work out (and quite a few of obstacles in their way) but the path that they end up on is utterly wonderful. Anyone who loves the goofy, handsome, tall, talented, dedicated and passionate type will undeniably fall for Josh. He may not have the best track record when it comes to relationships, but he makes up for it with his sheer will to win over this woman who is still healing.

4 books, 4 love stories, all available now in one fantastic box-set. Micalea shows her talent and passion through these phenomenal characters, and she pays tribute to her fans by adding loads of extra content into the set. Be sure to pick up the collection today and get ready to fall hard for all the Willow Creek boys!

Note: This ARC was provided by Give Me Books Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

The thing I love most about complete boxed sets--meaning the series is officially finished and all the books, full-length novels and novellas alike, are included in the set--is that there isn't any waiting involved. You get all of the stories offered up neatly in one package, and what earns this particular boxed set extra points is the additional, bonus material that can only be found within its pages. It's the exclusive stuff that entices those who have already bought all the books as they were being released in the past to go ahead and purchase the boxed set. The Willow Creek stories on their own were already enjoyable, giving readers sweet love stories and are enticing for fans of rock star romances. It's difficult to choose which one among the four was my favorite, though I am feeling torn between the second and third books. Each of the stories is different enough to assure you that you're not getting a recycled story line. The Willow Creek series was my introduction to Micalea Smeltzer's writing and I wasn't disappointed at all. Four stars for the full set. ♥

Willow Creek Series Boxed Set by Micalea Smeltzer Is a quick and steamy read. I would have to say I am a big fan of this whole series from the minute I picked up the 1st book LAST TO KNOW. The whole series drew my attention in right away that I could not put each book down. The character development is great, with an amazing cast of secondaries. An addicting, original, and well written storyline flows smoothly. Simmering chemistry and explodes into smokin' sexy scene goodness, and the well placed humor had me rolling. Micalea Smeltzer talented writing style captivated me instantly, and kept me on the edge of my seat, and brought real issues to each story and that just made it more, more than just a love story.

It made me cry in the best possible way. I know their stories will have a lasting impact on me and I will never think about hedgehogs, car stickers, knitting, the name Hope, red lipstick, and the bad boy's that just one someone to truly love, without thinking of this series. I know it will have a lasting impact because it has been weeks since I have read the box set and I have thought about their stories, earlier a child named Hope was mentioned on tv and my heart broke a little. Thank you so much for writing, never stop.

Another great read. I have fallen in love with the willow creek boys and all there extended family's, would highly recommend this series. Four novels in one book that are all linked together so it's basically one big book. I laughed so much and cried and felt broken for the characters at points.

Totally worth buying!

If you want some really good new adult rockstar romance box set that follows the four members of the Willow Creek as they fall in love. The set has all four romances and the extra content that helps to fill in some of the bits and pieces of the stories. Totally worth buying the set because you get all the stories in order.
