I enjoyed this book tremendously, however the author sneakiness leaves us in the lurch at the end. How did I get myself in this situation? This is not in paperback publication yet and now I have to wait for the next installment Emily meets a new coworker of her father at their leatherworking shop. She doesn't understand at first that he is nursing a new hurt as well as an ongoing grief. She has a tender heart and goes ahead to make him her friend. This was a very interesting insight into Amish courting practices I have read lots of Amish books but this taught me things I didn't know before. I would recommend also reading the prior books to fill in background information, I didn't going back to do it now. . I was provided an advance ecopy through NetGalley in return for an honest opinion
Heirloom Amish Novel series seems to be coming to a close. The Cherished Quilt is the final Fisher daughter to be married. Amy Clipston has written a beautiful novel about love and forgiveness and accepting blessings as God gives them to us.
Five Stars, Two Thumbs Up, and a lap quilt to keep you warm in your buggy.
Christopher has moved from Ohio to Bird In Hand, Pennsylvania, after the death of his brother. In his anger and grief, Christopher's father has blamed Gabriel's death on Chris. Chris is living with his Uncle Hank and Aunt Tillie and working in Uncle Hank's leather shop. Chris's father wanted Chris to love horse training and feels betrayed when Chris leaves home. In the leather shop, Chris finds his true talent and true vocation. When customers keep asking for horse and buggy key rings, wallets, and coin purses, Chris designs one to emboss into the leather. After setting them out, they sell like hotcakes.
Emily Fisher is the youngest daughter of Leroy and Mattie and the only one without a beau or husband. Her sister, Veronica, found her grandmother's recipe box; her sister, Rachel, got her grandmother's courtship basket; and now Emily wants to make a quilt and her mother gives her her grandmother's fabric scraps.
When Emily first meets Chris, he is so deep into his grief, he can't really connect to Emily. Emily keeps trying to be his friend, to allow him a safe haven. She believes that her gestures are being successful and she's making headway. Then Chris finds out that there's been a fire in his brother's house and suddenly goes back to Ohio to help out and finally confront his father.
The Cherished Quilt is an incredible novel with many lessons for the reader to consume. I have to be careful how much I add to the review, because I don't want to give it away. I am not the kind of person who is distressed by spoilers. I will deliberately look them up myself, I will flip to the back of a book to see how it ends, I will try to find out who wins the race, or the gold medal in some Olympic event. Then I sit and relax knowing the outcome of whatever I am involved in.
Many thanks to Zondervan for allowing me to read and review this book.
One of the things I love about this series is how the sisters in this Amish family help men who are hurting and vulnerable. And then fall in love with them, of course ;) There is great chemistry between Emily and Chris, and even though their friendship developed quickly, it seems they have known each other longer since they understand and support each other so well. Emily is a compassionate and service-minded person, and her natural instincts are to reach out and befriend Chris even when he is stand-offish. Her special care for him is balm to his wounded spirit and she gets him to open up when nobody else could, which helps start the healing process for him. I loved the strong sense of family and acceptance from the Fishers and how they envelop Chris in their circle and home. I was taken off guard by the conflict that comes between Emily and Chris, and their friendship and budding romance is put to the test as Chris must finally face important issues on his own to resolve them. I appreciated the theme that turning to God for relief from the trials we face blesses us with peace and the feeling that all will be well.
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
The Cherished Quilt is the third book in this series featuring the Fisher sisters, and their loving family, and this is Emily’s story. Christopher Hochstetler has had a devastating year and barely holding it together when he moves from Ohio to Pennsylvania and begins working for his uncle in his leather business. Thus the meeting of Em and Chris is about to happen, and with easy going Em and Chris fighting his demons, things do not run smoothly. When Em finds out why he has left his home and family, she is filled with compassion and is determined to help Chris. One of the things she decides to do is make him a quilt, and not an ordinary one, this one is stitched with love, and the fabric once belonged to Em’s grandmother. She decided to make a log cabin design to help connect to Chris, and in the end she has to mail the quilt to him By putting her heart in the care of Chris is Em heading towards having it broken? Will Chris ever heal and mend the rift with his Dad, even with his father blaming him for his brother? From beginning to end, I was so into this book that the pages flew and at the end, I wanted more! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Zondervan, and was not required to give a positive review
Emily has been the reliable, selfless sister throughout this series, and readers have been hoping to see her happiness unfold. Clipston is as reliable as her character, giving Emily a difficult and intense romance worthy of Emily’s ability to shine the light of Christ into the hearts of those she loves. Christopher’s guilt is devastatingly believable, and his acceptance of God’s love in spite of his insecurity is a reassuring leap of faith.
Emily has always been helpful and predictable, but she feels guilty when she secretly envies her sisters’ happiness. When sad, quiet Christopher comes to Bird-in-Hand, she is eager to befriend him, but is upset when he pushes her away. Christopher carries a guilt of his own; he feels responsible for the recent death of his brother and has left his family in Ohio to try to build a new life with relatives in Pennsylvania. The two begin a sweet, supportive friendship while denying their romantic attraction, but Christopher’s fear that he is unworthy of God’s forgiveness threatens to deny them a future together.
THE CHERISHED QUILT is the third book in the Amish Heirloom series. Emily Fisher is the youngest daughter of Mattie and Leroy and the only one who doesn't have a husband or boyfriend. She always puts everyone else's needs before her own and that is why she has never had a serious relationship with anyone. When Chris comes from Ohio to Bird In Hand PA, he comes with lots of guilt. Emily tries her hardest to be a friend to Chris, but he keeps pushing her away. THE CHERISHED QUILT is filled with love, forgiveness, second chances, healing, and even some romance.
Chris left Ohio and came to his Uncles leather shop to try and move on with his life after the tragic death of his brother. Chris is filled with grief, anger, and guilt. Before he moved, his father told him it was his fault that his brother wasn't with them anymore. His father is racked with guilt as well and blames it all on Chris. THE CHERISHED QUILT finds Emily slowly but surely getting Chris to open up to her and it starts to help him. He finally is able to sleep with out all the nightmares that leave him sobbing and his insomnia starts to go away.
Amy Clipston has created a wonderful series filled with beautiful families and characters. Her descriptions of each setting had me feeling as if I were right there in the Fisher kitchen giggling with the three sisters. THE CHERISHED QUILT was a quick read for me because I had a hard time putting it down once I started. I found myself cheering for Emily and hoping she could get Chris' walls to come down. I love the way she never gave up on him no matter how hard he pushed her away. I'm excited to continue this series.
Amy continues to step up her game with each and every book in the Amish Heirloom series. The Cherished Quilt is no different. This is the third book in this series featuring the Fisher series, their family and this is Emily's story. Get ready to meet handsome, Christopher who is holding on by a thread, but is in the leather business and is a very talented young man. He and Emily start off on the wrong foot, but filled with compassion, Em eventually decides he has been through a lot and offers friendship in the form of a quilt. She begins to ask her mom for fabric, which leads to a conversation about her and Chris only being friends. Emily sees herself as helping Chris, but her mom knows that Em might be developing something beyond friendship. Filled with raw emotion, Emily puts her heart out on the line, but is Chris able to accept? Or are the demons from his past enough to keep him from unforgiveness, a life of unhappiness and a quilt that could change his life forever?
This book isn't just a fiction story, but one that has a deeper story written within it. It deals with grief, faith, forgiveness, courage, jealousy and so much more. Each of us can relate to Chris and Em in one or another as we have all experienced some of the human emotion they have. The pages flew during this read. I had to limit myself because I did not want the book to end. It was a page turner and I wished I had the 4th book in my hand ready to read. Don't miss out on this life-changing Amish Fiction novel. You will regret not picking up a copy.
I loved loved it! Once again, Amy has written quite the novel in love, friendship, romance, and most of all reconciliation (forgiveness ). I love Amy's writing style. She has the ability to draw you in from the beginning of her stories to the end. She also has the ability to make her characters real and I love to laugh and cry with them. There's something special about Amish books. I just can't seem to put my finger on it. I feel fully satisfied after I finish a novel like this one. I kept rooting for Emily Fisher because I knew there was something special about her that it made her feel like she was my sister too. I love how patiently she waited to have her story told. I say this because she has 2 older sisters before her.. So, this one's pretty special for me. There are a lot of us like Christopher that is at a crossroads in their lives. Sometimes bad things do happen. I think because of these things that it makes us a much better and stronger person than what we once were. There's another special person that can help us through the bad times along with our family and friends if we let Him. The author also shows us that God will help us,work things out in His timing if they're meant to be. I loved this book for many other reasons. I feel like these people are my special friends and I would love to have another book about them. Friendship is a pretty special thing to have. I love how Emily and Christopher made friends first. I can't wait to see what happens with them! A five star novel for sure! Thank you Amy for a wonderful story!
Tragedy, friendship, love, forgiveness, and restoration are all very important topics covered in this third book in Amy Clipston’s Amish Heirloom series.
We once again find the Fisher family, including sisters, Veronica, Rachel and Emily in this book. Now that Emily’s sisters have found the “love of their lives”, she, too, longs to find the kind of happiness they have found.
Christopher Hochstetler comes to Bird-in-Hand, PA from his home in Sugarcreek, OH to work for his Uncle and Emily’s father in their leatherworking shop after tragedy has struck his family. He feels he is to blame for his brother’s death and that his dad also blames him and can’t continue to be around his family.
When he an Emily meet, he is very distant to her. She senses he needs a friend and does her best to be friendly to him. She decides to make him a quilt to show her friendship.
Will Christopher be able to forgive himself, renew a relationship with his father, and accept Emily’s friendship? Will Christopher accept God’s love and forgiveness?
This is a great book showing the reader all the wonderful aspects of God and how they can be applied to everyone’s life, if only they allow it to happen.
I would recommend this book to everyone and received a copy of it from Zondervan, for my honest opinion.

Every time I read a book by this talented author I think “she’s done it again!”! Another sweet couple & their story. Because, really, she does it wonderfully every time and “The Cherished Quilt” was no exception. I think this may even be my favorite Amish novel by her yet! Emily is such a sweetheart and I felt so connected to her. I just loved all the faith parts and goodness, that epilogue! I’m so excited for the May 2017 when “The Beloved Hope Chest”, the final book in this series (bittersweet!) comes out.
*BFCG may (Read the review to see) recommend this book by this author. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author. *I received this book for free from the author for this honest review.
I have enjoyed all of the books in the Amish Heirloom series, however The Cherished Quilt is definitely my favorite of the novels. The author was able to wrench so many emotions out of me with this book!
When Emily felt hurt or heartbroken, I could feel it, too. When Chris was dealing with overwhelming guilt, I could absolutely feel his struggle. When romance began to grow, I could feel it. And when the story ended I couldn’t believe it was over! I can not wait until book four comes out!
The Cherished Quilt had so many good characters in it and such intense emotion. If you haven’t read the earlier books in the series, you can probably still enjoy this novel. If you have read books one and two, you will enjoy seeing what is going on in the lives of Emily’s sisters, who were the main characters in the other books. I enjoyed this novel so much and this series has been a really great one.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Oh My Goodness I was already a huge fan of the Amish Heirloom Series by Amy Clipston but this story has sealed the deal. Our story follows the heart of Emily Fisher and Christopher Hochstetler as they learn their path in life. Their journey begins as friends who help each other fight their personal demons and as friendship go there always rough spots. Emily begins to cherish the time and talks with Chris and deep down Chris feels the same but his demons have a hold on his head and his heart. As their friendship grows so does the "forbidden" feelings they share since Chris has no become a member of the church and he has some hard decisions to make. This journey leads our young couple to have a beautiful strong relationship with God and their Faith. Rarely do I cry when I read a story but I can tell you this story is so beautifully written that Amy Clipston had me in tears several time. Do yourself a favor, grab your favorite quilt and a copy of this book and make some new friends in Bird in Hand, you will love every minute.
If you have been following the Fisher family and their love for each other and the Lord ..... you will most likely do what I did and fall right into this book that captures Emily's story and not be able to put it down !! I love how the characters interact with each other and yet have their own distinct personalities. =) I always feel like the proverbial fly on the wall in all their comings and goings. I would dearly love to have had a big family with sisters. Instead of have sisters-by-choice. =)
The only problem with Amy's books is that they are so darn good that you keep reading and then .... the book is done ..... it leaves you with that dratted cliffhanger ...... and so the waiting begins again for the conclusion of the story and what is hidden, but continually hinted at in all the books .... which will be found in The Beloved Hope Chest in 2017. Thank you, Amy, for using your God-given creative talents in such a wonderful way. Write on .......... <3
This was a lovely story of forgiveness and healing. I loved seeing Emily and Chris's friendship blossom and then was heartbroken when He pulled away because he still hadn't cleared up his issues with his family and himself. This is the third book in a series but you don't need to have read the other two to understand or enjoy this one. Some of the back stories of the other characters would have been nice to know but not necessary to understanding this story.
I love amish stories. Their slower pace is relaxing.
The Cherish Quilt is book 3 in the Amish Heirloom Series. If you follow my reviews you know Amy Clipston is one of my favorites Authors and she didn't disappoint me. I enjoyed this book so much. I always feel as if I know the characters in her books personally. Emily was one of my favorites in book one. So being able to read her story was great for me.
I thought this was a cute story between Emily and Christopher. Their feelings were will written and I felt for them both as the story progressed.
I LOVE THIS BOOK! It has to be my favourite book in this series. It's full of laughter, tears, joy, hope, healing, and warmth. AAAH AHHH! It's just so good.
The Cherished Quilt is the third book in the Amish Heirloom series by Amy Clipston. I don’t know why I love troubled characters so much. Maybe it’s because they’re easier to relate to than perfect people. Christopher is haunted by memories of his brother’s death. Emily wants nothing more than to help ease his pain and be his friend.
Amy is really hitting her stride as an author. Her character development just shines in her recent novels and this one is no exception. I think that this book may be my favorite addition to the Amish Heirloom collection.
There were only two things that I didn’t like about this book. 1: Christopher was able to work through his PTSD because he fell in love with Emily. I would have liked to have seen the normalization of seeking professional help. It is nothing to be ashamed of but I feel like people are afraid to talk about it.
2: The, “She didn’t know how beautiful she was” cliché was dropped once in this book. It’s a personal dislike of mine as it is so overused. This is truly the only reason this book is a 4 star instead of a 5 for me.
Aside from these two issues, this book was a lovely read. The characters are well-developed and easy to relate to. Overall, I think this is one of Amy’s best and I really can’t wait to read the next installment. Although, it is bittersweet that The Beloved Hope Chest will be the last of this series.
A complimentary copy of this book was provided by Amy Clipston, the author. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. All opinions are my own.
. This book was set in a small Amish community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The plot was well developed and the characters were likable. On the other hand, the heroine's determination to hang on to something/someone that was gone from her life, instead of embracing what was actually available to her was often very annoying. However, I have observed similar reactions in real life.
I listened to the audible book through Hoopla through our local library, with the narrator, C. S. E Cooney. I was not impressed with the delivery. For one thing, there was no distinction made between male and female voices and another thing was that the pronunciation seemed off at times. I was distracted by the wording, too, which has more to do with the author.
I appreciate the clean and wholesome family life that the Amish books present. This family was very supportive, which is not always the case in Amish stories. The ties to the past that help shape the future was a nice touch in the first book, and then followed in the second and third books. Each book seems to have the same theme as the usage of something from the past to help with their futures.
I agreed totally with another viewer in that stated: "I gave this novel only an average rating because I felt there were some aspects of Amish culture (use of phones being one thing and dialect for another) that didn't seem to ring true. I also felt that some of the usages of Amish German was awkward and unnecessary. " Also, the conflict between H/H was too drawn out.
This book was able to stand on its own, it was a clean romance, and there was definitely a long sought after H.E.A.
The Cherished Quilt ( Amish Heirloom Book #3 ) By: Amy Clipston
I loved it. This book , The Cherished Quilt is just as wonderful as the other two in this series. Amy Clipston writes of love, forgiveness, healing, romance , and Blessings from God. The author will draw you in right at the start and not let go till the end. Christopher blames himself for the death of his brother, and his father blames him too. Chris picks up and moves to Bird in Hand , Pennsylvania after the death of his brother hoping to start a new life. He will go to work for his uncle at his leather shop.He is going through a lot of guilt. Emily is the youngest Fisher daughter and still not married. She would love to have what her sisters have. She meets Chris at the shop and she thinks she will go over and become friends with him. Well Chris is not to friendly. She cannot understand him. Friendship is a big thing with Emily and she want give up on Chris. There is a beautiful quilt that has been quilted in this story and since I am a quilter myself I, would have love to see it. Someone will be very lucky. Will she ever get Chris to be her friend? Will he ever get over with his quilt for his brother’s death? Can Emily help Chris get his life back together? Will she ever find the right person for herself ? I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All options are my own.
This book is as wonderful as the other two books before it. The story started out in the Forgotten Recipe then the Courtship Basket and now the Cherished Quilt. This book ( The Cherished Quilt) is a story about Emily and Chris. Emily struggles seeing her other sisters married and wondering when it will be her turn. Chris struggles the death of his brother and the blame his father puts on him for it. He blames himself and has nightmares about it. He leaves his home and tries to start a new life with his Aunti and Onkel. He meets Emily and the story blossoms. Can not wait to read the next book in the story. This is my honest review on a book I was given privilege to read.
The Cherished Quilt is the third installment from the Amish Heirloom series. I enjoyed the sweet and clean story. I have not read anything by Amy Clipston before and I definitely need to change that in the near future . Recommended 4 stars
The third book in the Amish heirloom series, The Cherished Quilt is just as cute and sweet as the two preceding novels.
Like the first two, this is very bittersweet as it deals with the grieving process and estrangement, but also that love can heal all wounds.
Emily is such a positive person and I admired her tenacity. She never gives up. I felt bad for Chris and it was so sweet the way that Emily wanted to cheer him up.
I have really enjoyed this series so far - now I just need to see how the series concludes in The Beloved Hope Chest.
What is there to say about this book but WOW!!!! This book may just be my all-time favorite by Amy Clipston. She has created characters you care about and a story that is so engrossing you can't pull yourself away from it. This book was a quick and easy read for me.
I just love Emily Fisher. She is my favorite of the three Fisher girls and I instantly felt a connection to her. She was easy to like and comes off the page as genuine and real. Chris (Christopher) was easy to feel a connection with as well. It was easy to sympathize with him and have empathy for him, too. I thought his dad was a real jerk and immediately disliked him. When Emily and Chris met and started to form an awkward relationship I felt their chemistry and wanted only happiness for these two. These are my two favorite characters Amy has created since Ellie and Lloyd from her novella Love Birds, part of An Amish Market collection. I enjoyed reading about Emily and Chris and liked how their friendship started off rocky but progressed naturally and seemed authentic. Amy has a way of creating characters that you connect with and care about. The Fisher family along with Onkel Hank and Aentie Tillie are a group I want to be a part of.
Amy has done a wonderful job of describing the setting of the book. With her descriptions it was easy to imagine being in the kitchen at the Fisher house, sitting out on the porch, playing a game of baseball, or working in the harness shop. This all adds to the story and makes it seem that much more genuine. Oh, and at the end of this book, I discovered that Amy can leave readers with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger. I'm now anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.
Amy is my favorite Amish fiction author and that's because her books reflect the Amish lifestyle in a way that readers want to see. Amy's books aren't full of flashy storylines or awkwardly unreal situations but are full of down-to-earth, everyday situations of life in the Amish community. Her characters are complex and the stories are believable and from the heart. Amy's books are works of art and treasures that should be proudly displayed on every reader's keeper shelf.
This book is a must-read for fans of the genre or a great way to introduce someone to Amish fiction and Amy Clipston. Set aside time to read this wonderful story. Once you get started you won't want to put the book down until the end.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. I was in no way required to write a positive review and all opinions are mine.
The Cherished Quilt is Emily and Christopher’s story, a story of tragedy, friendship and love. Christopher Hochstetler leaves Ohio to come to Pennsylvania to work at his uncles shop, Bird-in-Hand. Emily Fisher is excited to meet the new employee at her father’s shop. Little did she now, Christopher isn’t ready to make friends but Emily isn’t going to give up on him.
All Christopher is looking for is a fresh start, his heart has been severely wounded and its not until Emily is kind to him that he begins to open up to her. He shares with her the reasons why he left Ohio. Upon hearing this, Emily decides she is going to make him a quilt. Emily finds her self falling love with Christopher but a family emergency takes him back to Ohio. She finishes the quilt and gives it to him. What will happen with the budding relationship? Will Christopher return to Pennsylvania?
The Cherished Quilt is book three in An Amish Heirloom Series written by Amy Clipston. This has been one of those “I can’t put it down until I finish books.” You will savor every moment of Emily and Christopher's budding relationship and shed a tear or two. Ms. Clipston has outdone herself with this one, with her amazing writing skills, her outstanding research, her books are ones you will re-read for years to come.
I highly recommend this book for all Amish Fiction lovers, even though it is book three in the series, it still can be read as a stand-alone however, I suggest starting with book one: The Forgotten Recipe and book two: The Courtship Basket. Be looking for book four: The Beloved Hope Chest releasing in May of 2017. I promise you will not be disappointed and will love this series!
I received this book for free. A favorable review was not required!! All opinions expressed here are my own.
"The Cherished Quilt" by Amy Clipston is the third book in the Amish Heirloom series; about the three Fisher sisters, who are of age to marry and the situations leading up to finding the right Amish young man in their back yard of Lancaster County, PA.
Amy Clipston opens up with Christopher Hochstetler attending and reliving a horrific tragedy back on his father's farm in Ohio. When the opportunity comes up for Christopher to stay with his aunt and uncle in Lancaster County, PA, he is more than ready for a change.
In "The Cherished Quilt" we read the youngest Fisher sister's story, Emily. Emily is just like me, putting others especially family member first before myself. Something else Emily and I have in common was, not liking to see someone blue, the need to make someone smile again.
Can Emily make a positive impact on Christopher about his future? Will Christopher found healing?
I look forward to reading the last book in this series, "The Beloved Hope Chest". Along with any other books Amy Clipston writes in the future.
I received a free copy from NetGalley with the only request to write an honest review about the book. No money was exchanged. This is my review written in my own words.
BACK OF THE BOOK BLURB Emily Fisher is eager to meet the new employee at her father's shop in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. But when Christopher Hostettler arrives, his cold demeanor freezes her attempts at building a friendship.
Longing for a fresh start, Christopher travels from Ohio to Bird-in-Hand. Christopher's heart is still wounded from memories of home, and making new friends is the last thing on his mind--he knows the pain that comes with losing those you love. When Emily is kind to him, he tries to remain distant, but he soon finds himself stealing glances at her throughout the day.
When Christopher shares his tragic reasons for leaving home, Emily decides to make a quilt for him as a gesture of their friendship. The two are quickly falling in love when a family emergency calls Christopher back to Ohio without warning.
Emily finishes the quilt, in spite of her pain. But when Christopher receives it, will he have the courage to follow his heart?
MY REVIEW Yes! I really enjoyed this book and Amy did not fail to bring a few tears to my eyes. This is yet another wonderful story and I don't know how I'm going to wait till May for the next book in this series. I can easily recommend this book, this series, and very good reads for the Amish booklover.

This novel had such heart throughout and I throughly enjoyed it. The characters were real, full of doubts, grief, family issues, love and friendship. A family tragedy brings Chris to his uncles house in Bird in Hand. His dad has hurt him terribly and he feels he is not wanted at his house. He learns a new trade at the hands of his uncle and his uncles partner and next door neighbor. The neighbor has a beautiful daughter, Emily, who realizes Chris is unhappy and has lots of things bothering him. She sets her goal to befriend him and try to break through his hard exterior. I loved the character Emily. She was so giving, always thinking of others over herself. She goes out of her way to help and serve not only her family but Chris. She even plans early in their friendship to make him a quilt. As their relationship grows, things are hidden that could cause heartbreak. Does Chris ever resolve his issues with his dad, or do his nightmares continue to eat him up? As Emily helps her middle sister plan her wedding, she begins to believe a special someone will never be sent into her life by God. You may need a box or two of tissues to get through this book, but it will be well worth it. FYI: Don't read the epilogue if you have no intentions of reading the fourth and final book in this series, but why wouldn't you I ask? If it's even half as good as this one it will be worth every minute of your time. I received a copy of this book from the publisher through The Fiction Guild and was not require to write a review, positive or otherwise.
It just keeps tying the love of the old with the love of the new. The Cherished Quilt by Amy Clipston continues to tug at my heart at the right moments, having me fall in love with Emily and Christopher's budding romance, and then allow me to feel their heartache as well. Grief is a strong element in The Cherished Quilt, the pain, the guilt and how to deal with it. The author presented a story that binds you with it. It sets in motion the hours you spend on it will compel you to finish the story, and then consider the Fisher family and their community in Lancaster a friend.
A story of love, of hope, of community, of chance and of new beginnings. As we start off this new year, I love that this story speaks of that as well. Perfect in timing, and in deliverance. When life is unexpected, and when you are stuck at the crossroad, sometimes the answer's right there. Listen, and see, let God reveal it to you.
The Cherished Quilt continues the charm of the earlier An Amish Heirloom series, and I just can't wait for the magic of The Beloved Hope Chest to be revealed!
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.
THE CHERISHED QUILT by Amy Clipston. Is a definite winner again for Amy and her books on the Amish, and how to deal with a trouble soul. Emily's father is part owner of a harness shop, and they have a new employe, He is not of there church and very cold with his attitude, having lost someone he loved. Emily as a gesture of friendship makes him a quilt. Will Christopher accept, and start to heal. Another delightful book, of helping others.Given book by Thomas Nelson, for my voluntary review and my honest opinion I have given.
