My kids and I enjoyed reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? when they were little. This book Noah, Noah, What Do You See is written by the same author that penned Brown Bear, Brown Bear and is written in a similar fashion. It was fun to see my kids turn the pages and read the words on the page at a young age. Because of the books rhythm and the beautiful pictures, it was easy to memorize the story. As they got older they noticed all the sight words and gained confidence they could read words. It was a building block experience to them reading other books. I can’t wait to share this book with my grandchildren and watch them have just much fun as my kids did reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear.

What I love about this little board book is the fact that it introduces young readers to characters in the bible. It will make them ask who is Noah, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Daniel, Esther and several other bible characters this author introduces. This makes the book extra special for me as it helps me familiarize little ones with people of faith and their challenges and triumphs.

This board book will soon become a family favorite as you have fun sharing bible characters and their stories with little ones who will enjoy the pictures and rhythm of the book. I’m sure they will be reading it to you in no time. It’s a confidence builder!

Noah, Noah, What Do You See? By Bill Martin Jr. and Michael Sampson is my favorite board book of the year. It introduces well-known Bible stories and the christ-following believers in each to children of a young age. Similar to the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by the same author, this book will likely be taken to heart just as well.

The books catchy rhythmic phrases and repetitive words flow delightfully. We learn what is seen. For example, the first page reads " Adam, Adam what do you see?" He replies "I see creation all around me". Following Adam, many more example of what is seen by Noah, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Daniel, Esther, and many more.

Each person and their story are portrayed on a spread of two pages. On every page, there's the scripture reference of where the particular story can be found in the Bible. I like that the reference is included for children that may be interested in learning the whole story verse by verse.

The wording in the book is great as well as the illustrations. We see what the characters see. You can clearly determine what the story is about through the colorfully engaging imagery. My children all enjoyed looking at the pictures and were happy many of their favorite Bible stories were included.

I am reading this book almost daily to my nine-month-old. I am excited that she stays engaged while the book is read. There's no time better than when little ones are young to introduce and get them accustomed to stories of our God.

If you have kids, have taught kids, or have been around kids much, then you're probably pretty familiar with author Bill Martin.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom are two books likely to be found on every child's favorites list.

If you love the repetitive, rhyming style of those titles and are looking for a fun little board book based on biblical themes, then you'll want to read this.

Just like in Martin's other What Do You See books, each page follows the same repetitive pattern with the text while the final 2-page spread is a review of everyone who sees something throughout the book.

Children will learn what Adam, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Peter, Paul, Jesus and other popular Bible characters see, helping kids to learn a bit about the main idea of each story as they turn the pages.

Besides the repetitive, rhyming pattern of this book, I also love the colorful illustrations and inclusion of a relevant Bible verse to go along with each theme.

This book would be a perfect addition to your home library. It is one that children from birth through the elementary years would all enjoy.

I highly recommend this little book. You can order your own copy here and begin reading what will surely become a favorite in your house, too.

I received a free copy of this product in exchange for writing a review. All opinions are my own.

My Review:

This sweet little board especially created for ages 3-12. It is similar to the Chicka Chicka Boom books and has the same great flavor. But it is Biblically based so it is taken from the Bible to create the sweetest book. Perfect for a baby shower gift!

The authors basically fit all of the Bible stories we grew up with in this small, little book with the dramatic prose and rhythm that answer the question, what do you see? My sweet boys loved tested at the book for me. They thought it was a lot of fun.

As a teacher I have enjoyed Brown Bear, Brown Bear....book for many years. So when I saw this book the title caught my eye. I'd thought it would be the animals on the ark but was pleasantly surprised to find that each page is a different Bible hero...Adam, Noah, Jonah, Mary, Paul, and Zacchaeus to list a few!

I have already read it multiple times with my little boy (age 21 months) and he really likes it. I asked him what is this book and he told me "Onah Onah."

We like the pictures and the rhythmic text. I like that my little guy is being exposed to these Bible heroes with something related to what they did in the Bible. I'm sure it is to be a favorite at your house too.

This is the cutest little board book. I like how it takes each of the Bible stories and gives you just a little tidbit about them. The colors are nice and bright and the pictures are well done. The way they stories rhyme will help to hold your child's attention. This is a good book for your little one.

Noah, Noah, What Do You See? is a children’s book written by Bill Martin Jr. and Michael Sampson and illustrated by Melissa Iwai.

The verses use a simple rhyme scheme, so the book would be best for young children who would enjoy and benefit from repetition. The repetition also makes the book fun to read aloud.

The first page reads, “Adam, Adam, what do you see? I see creation all around me.” It also includes the reference verse of Genesis 2:4-25. Each page continues with this same theme (e.g. David, David, what do you see? I see a giant charging toward me) until the very end, when the authors nicely tie the book together with the lines, “Jesus, Jesus, what do You see? I see Adam, Noah, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Daniel, Esther, Jonah, Mary, Zacchaeus, Peter, Paul, and a little child – all seeking Me. That’s what I see!” The ending is clever, as it recaps all of the Biblical characters mentioned in the book, and reaffirms Jesus’ unyielding love for mankind.

Although the pages in the book allude to well-known Biblical stories rather than retell them, children who are familiar with Bible stories will easily be able to understand what is going on in each page.

This board book follows the classic structure from the Brown Bear, Brown Bear books. Each page spread highlights a often-covered storybook Bible story (like Noah, Joseph, Jonah, Paul, etc.). Each spread also lists the Scripture reference in the bottom right corner to allow families to go read those specific stories and accounts.

My kids and I especially love the illustrations with, thankfully, darker (more realistic) skin tones represented on many pages (though not on the cover). The style is bright and inviting for youngest readers. I also appreciate that the book includes a couple stories slightly less covered in storybooks, like Esther.

Some of the rhythms didn't quite read as smoothly as others when read aloud; the point of emphasis seemed to be shifted a little compared to other lines. But we enjoyed reading this one aloud and it would make a lovely accompaniment to board book libraries and to go along with storybook Bible reading.

Noah, Noah, What Do You See? By Bill Martin Jr. and Michael Sampson immediately reminded me of Chicka Chicka, 1, 2, 3 and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? as it had the same sort of writing style and cute pictures that are both well done and very child friendly. I found the book is a perfect Noah's Ark story for young children as it is both interesting and entertaining to them.
