Saint Patrick: A Short Biography

Rate this book
Saint Patrick was not from Ireland, he did not use a shamrock to explain the Trinity, and he did not rid Ireland of its snakes. While much of his life is shrouded in mystery, historians have been able to piece together bits of information to reveal his story. This short, well-written biography of the fifth century's greatest missionary reveals the true man behind the myths.

"Maewyn Succat" (Saint Patrick) was a British-born, Irish slave who escaped his captivity only to return to his captors as a missionary. As you read this true account you will be inspired and encouraged by the unrelenting love of God that worked so powerfully in the life of Patrick. Your mind will be enlarged and your passion for the gospel will burn even brighter.

I like this book!!!!

Bibliography at end of good source material on Patrick's life.

This book points out that Patrick was not Catholic but was a true believer in Christ and a missionary to the Irish people who kidnapped him as a teenager from Britain. He was indifferent to his father's Christian teachings until he became a slave in Ireland. He had a kind master.

Some good info on Patrick, researched well and including factual info that is hard to find and to separate from the many myths surrounding Patrick's life. I like that the book is short and easy to digest and capture the main points, and yet that the Bibliography lists larger works referenced in this smaller work, so that the reader can delve more deeply with these cited resources.
