When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

Zoe and Aric have been living together for a while now, and it has been five years since they left college. These past five years have been peaceful and they've been hiding out on the secluded piece of land that they found and the house Aric had built for them.

Both of them are still in love and going strong, but when Paris comes back into the picture things go from good to bad quickly. Paris brings trouble and betrayal with her and Aric and Zoe must figure it out before it is too late.

This book was a great start to this one. I enjoyed how different Aric and Zoe are but also the same. It was awesome. I also couldn't believe the things Paris did. I was so mad at her, but I really enjoyed this one a lot. I look forward to more now.

Can't get enough of Zoe

Great spin off series from Covenant College series. Read in order. Love Zoe and I'm thrilled to have more time with her. I will be reading the next one in this series.

I'd read and listened to the the anthology of the first five Covenant books and thoroughly enjoyed them so much so I bought the first three books in this series . Although I enjoyed the story line and most of the dialogue I did get bored with the continual declarations of love. Ok I get the love and dedication Aric has for Zoe but to be told time after time was annoying in the end. I got the picture. Even with that , which was my personal hang up, it was a good story and worth my money. Enjoy

Good Read.

The storyline in this book was good, not as good as the first ones but not bad.
The down side was the repetitive whinning about wanting an engagement ring that perfectly honestly made her sound like a spoilt brat and got on your nerves, that needs to be tamed down a bit.
The bad mouthing which on most people gets better in time on her gets worse and that is just as off putting.
The main thing that this has going for it are the other chracters and the story.

Paris and Zoe reunite..

Zoe and Aric have been living an isolated and peaceful life off the grid for 5 years. When suddenly Paris appears without any warning the usual mayhem starts all over again and Zoe has to dig out her magic to save everyone.

Paris has been lonely and hurt that Zoe and Aric cut everyone off after college, wanting to find her "Aric" she's joined a coven and let it's chief warlock into her life. When his niece finds a book, the Antimage, and gives it to Paris she sees an opportunity to increase her own powers without realising that there is a much bigger and more devious plan going on behind the scenes.

Will Zoe overcome Paris's betrayal? Can she stop the covens plans to rule the paranormal world? Who and what exactly is Bob? Will she be able to save her parents?

Again I find there's just something missing from the series.. I can't put my finger on it but it's just missing the mark by a smidgen.. the nearest I can come to an answer is that Zoe is like a first sketch rather than a completed portrait.. it doesn't stop me from enjoying the books but I prefer her other series especially Avery Shaw, Mystic Circus, Grim Reapers, Death Gate and Midwest Witches..

I honestly don't know how many words can express my feelings about these books and this author. I downloaded the first series of these 5 books on audiobook and when I saw it was 36 hours I was dubious about it. I started on 26 March 2021 and I can quite happily say that every night and every opportunity I have had, I have listened and got completely hooked on the books, the plots and the characters!!! As soon as I started to get engrossed in this, I started researching and found out there was this trilogy (25 hours) which continues when they leave college. That was downloaded as well. All in all there is over 61 hours of fantastic writing from an extremely talented author. I LOVED EVERY SINGLE PART OF IT. There were not any moments of the plot dragging, I didn't get bored once and that is astonishing when you think of 61 hours!!! Do not hesitate for one second to read/listen to these books. They deliver on every single level.

Please write more in this series!!!!

This was a cute book and one that I am so glad to have found existed after the 5 part series of College Covenant with the same main characters. Even Paris makes an appearance in this read. Zoe shows a bit more of her magical talents in this first in the trilogy “Living Covenant”.

If you like werewolves, this book doesn’t really have much in it, but that was perfectly ok with me after all the werewolfing in the college series books.

There is actually what I believe is a fairy in this one, named “Bob” that gives Zoe some sage advice about her past and future.

With her sharp tongue and quick wit, Amanda M. Lee has won my heart over in all books I’ve read by her, thus far.
I’m now starting the second story in this series (Dark Covenant) and I can’t wait to see what Zoe gets into next!

This is the continuation of the original five part Covenant College series. It's 5 years later. Aric and Zoe live together, almost off the grid and away from all of her friends. Controlling much? He says he's "protecting" her but she had to cut off all ties with her friends? That didn't sit right with me. Glad that worked itself out.

So, here's my only really issue with this book. It took, what, 3-4 days to make it to the compound but only 24 hours to get out? How did all the other people get to the compound? Would have been better if there was just a mention of maybe helicopters, or some other way for all of those people to get there and get away from there.

Zoe Lake has moved on from college

Zoe and Aric have moved on from college life, and moved to a secluded home in the woods of Michigan. Life is good for them, until Paris shows up at their door bringing drama. Zoe hasn't seen Paris in 3 years and it's a welcomed surprise until they are attacked by wolves. Zoe thinks they are there for her but realized they are in fact there for Paris. Paris has a book that is supposed to be very powerful and can destroy mages, and the people after her want it so they can take Zoe's powers. Paris brought this mess to Zoe and Aric but it gets worse before it gets better.

When I started reading this book I was really annoyed at Aric gone was the supportive boyfriend and in his place was this controlling man who had isolated Zoe from the world. Happily as the book progressed Aric began to realise that isolating Zoe had been the wrong way to “protect her” and he worked his way back to being the supportive loving boyfriend again.
Zoe for her part finally started to believe in herself and her powers again and began to trust herself.
This ended up being a really good and enjoyable story and Zoe’s snarkyness had much more Sass to it than B’chyness to it unlike her younger self.
I’m looking forward to reading the next instalment of this trilogy.

I couldn't figure out why the characters Zoe Lane and Aric Winters were so familiar to me. Until I realize they were the same as Aisling Grimlock and Griffin Taylor in another series by this author. This is a story of betrayals, lies, deceit and obtaining power. A powerful book in the possession of Paris, leads to the kidnapping of Zoe's parents. Its up to Zoe and Aric to get to the people holding them and bringing them home. As Zoe's powers increase, more people are out to get her and its time Zoe learns who to trust and who to let go of.

Wow!

As amazing as Covenent College was, I think that so far this is my favorite book! Absolutely awesome!!!!
I was scared at first thinking that Zoe and Paris' friendship was doomed. Like really scared. Thank the Lord that worked out! Then I was as all, "WOOHOO!" Zoe is full on scary powerful chick! I mean she was before but it was all her and her bad a$$edness in this book! Freaking awesome!!!!! Oh, then it was all "bestill my heart" sweetness and a FINALLY!
This book had more cool action and magic than the others and I think that's why it's my favorite one yet.

Another great adventure

I cannot fathom how Zoe and Aric's lives can turn me into a bubble of emotions. You can not read this book, or any of Amanda's titles, and not feel the love and loyalty. It is so hard to put any of her books down and I get torn when I finish one, but excited when I start the next adventure...

I wasn’t sure at 46%

Ok so I wasn’t sure when I got to 46% there were so many holes in the story it was bugging crap out of me. I should have had more faith in Amanda M. Lee. She never disappoints. She plugged up all those holes quick and easy. So worth reading through YA to get to this point.

Reunions, betrayals, and lessons...

Five years have passed, and Zoe is as snarky and sassy as ever. Zoe and Aric may have grown up a little, but they’re same: crazy in love.

Another evil entity discovers that you don’t mess with either Zoe or those she loves. A great continuation in Zoe’s story.

I was disappointed with this one. I always thought that Zoe was a selfish mean character, but there was enough comedy to keep me reading. This one opens with them having spent years being selfish and alone, and I don't feel that it fits Zoe's character that she would have let Aric isolate her to that extent. I kept reading, but their whole relationship was frustrating to me.

5 years later

Aric and Zoe live together but they have cut ties with friends and are pretty recluse in the home Aric built.

Trouble comes in the form of Paris, Zoe's college and best friend.

A book, werewolves, a kidnapping, a weird encounter and a few bad guys added gives the story flow and adventure.

An excellent continuation.

Looking forward to the next instalment.

almost there.

The actions in this book encompass most about what I’ve already learned about the future from reading books from the other series. I can’t believe how many spoilers there are in the other series of books. Even though I know the beard details, the author has a clever way of getting there and keeping the reader engaged

Good read

Book 1 of this series is really a continuation of another series. It has loads not humor, magic, mystery, action, betrayal, reuniting of friends, and love. I read this series quite awhile ago, but forgot the titles, and thus checked it out again and decided to read it again because it is highly entertaining.

Grammar police needed

I absolutely love your books. I read one in two days and relax from the tensions of the day. This book and the last “Witches “ book both need a copy editor. Some mistakes are glaring and irritating while reading.

Once again Amanda Lee has produced an amazing story that the reader can't put down until the last page. The characters are passionate and action packed. Got to start the next book in the trilogy.

Snark, love and power

Love the snarky comments and the sarcastic attitude. The storyline is completely engaging, leaving no time to hardly eat, drink or go to the bathroom before finishing it. I'd definitely pass this title on to my friends to read!

Great book

Great start to another series, or a continuation of the college years: post-graduation Zoe. At a loss as to what to do after college, she still manages to find herself, a life with Aric, a career, and reunite with an old friend. What could go wrong?
