Mae is stuck working a thankless job with no real prospect of a better life until she decides to change her fortune as a mail order bride.
Harvey is a widowed rancher trying to raise mischievous twins all by himself in Arizona.
Suzy and Alex, the twins, aren’t content to let their pa stay single and unhappy so they take actions into their own hands. When the twins mix their unsuspecting father with a bride expecting something completely different, nothing is certain except that a lot needs to happen to form a happy family.
This book is a sweet, clean, western, historical, romance short story. It is a complete story, but it is also part of the Two is Better Than One series. Be sure to read them all - in any order!
Emily Woods has been an avid reader her whole life and a lover of western movies.
A few years ago, Emily started writing her own stories. She started writing Western Romance and Mail Order Bride stories because she absolutely love writing about the women that helped settle the Wild West.
This is the 16th book I read by Emily Woods. I loved ❤ this book's storyline. I loved ❤ the Christian theme in this story. I loved ❤ Mae's character. I loved ❤ Harvey's character. I loved ❤ Alex & Susan. I loved ❤ the ending. Awesome job Ms. Woods.
Mail-order bride stories are among some of my most favorite to read. I can't imagine the courage it must have taken for both parties to engage in such a deal. A sweet story about a mail-order bride, this novel shares how much the Good Lord wants to give us good things in our lives.
I am rally beginning to enjoy Emily Woods books. She finds a way that make a simple story into a short but complete read. This small story of the journey of a Mail Order Bride will make you smile.
I enjoyed the authors story and the characters she created to aid her in telling it. The brave young woman headed west to meet and marry a man she had never seen before.
Great story fallen down depressed girl trying to figure out how to make it in a tough world. Female character takes a chance, steps out into the unknown. Troubles follow but the man in the story comes out of his insecurities and finally sees how to help her.
I would have given this novella three stars, but for the historical research problems as noted in my comments. but because of those historical research mistakes I can only give it one star.
5 star's for Emily Woods story. The time to be a mail order bride is stalled and the bride and groom take time to figure out the issues they are sharing. Of course it all works out well. Enjoy the story I did!!!!!
I really enjoyed this one. The twins have such personality and the relationship between Mae and Harvey is really sweet. It was well done. But it wasn't completely edited. I also very much dislike the cover picture.
