W tamtym roku miałam okazję przeczytać niezwykle mądrą i dobrze napisaną powieść ,,Historię pszczół". Powieść ta zrobiła na mnie bardzo wielkie wrażenie i dała do myślenia. Kiedy zobaczyłam, że wydawnictwo wydaje kolejny irygujący tytuł o pszczołach koniecznie chciałam przeczytać!

Książka już od razu wprawiła mnie w zachwyt, jest tak przecudownie wydana, że nacieszyć same oczy to mało. Oprawę ma jakby z materiału, co jest niezwykle fajne w dotyku, cudowne złote litery na grzbiecie, dzięki czemu będzie bajecznie wyglądać na półce. A w środku!? Kurczę, jeszcze piękniejsza. Mnóstwo pięknych zdjęć, które sprawiły, że bardzo zatęskniłam za latem. Tekst jest przyjemnie sformatowany i ubarwiony.

Naprawdę jest tak śliczna, że warto ją mieć choćby po to aby stała na półce i ładnie wyglądała.

Ale czy treść jest równie fascynująca, co oprawa?


I tutaj powiem Wam, że sama była bardzo zaskoczona. Jest to powiedziałabym bardziej typowo naukowo-przyrodnicza książka o pszczołach, więc mamy dużo informacji o tym, jak żyją pszczoły, jak się zachowują, jakie kwiaty potrzebują, jak założyć własną pasiekę itp. I nie mam pojęcia jak autor to zrobił! Ale treść była niezwykle ciekawa i chociaż nie interesują mnie wszystkie możliwe informacje o tych stworzeniach, to tutaj byłam naprawdę zafascynowana.



W treść mamy wplecionych trochę elementów z życia autora, który właśnie założył własną pasiekę i było to naprawdę fajne urozmaicenie.

Na końcu książki znajdziecie kilka ciekawych przepisów, które mogą Wam się spodobać.

Cieszę się, że miałam okazję przeczytać tę ,,Pszczoły" a także mieć ją na własność. Dobra i wartościowa lektura. Polecam. 🐝

Gdyby się ktoś zastanawiał jak funkcjonuje hierarchia ula, jak wyglada codzienna praca pszczół, co decyduje o tym że jedna wykluta larwa stanie się robotnicą, z kolei inna będzie królową, dlaczego np. robotnice słuchają królowej, mimo że tak naprawdę jest ona od nich zależna i równocześnie o wiele słabsza (po wyjściu z ula może latać tylko na odległość kilku metrów). Jest oczywiście opisane jak zbudować taki ul ;)) i jak się nim już później opiekować. Na sam koniec, książka inspiruje do zagłębiania się w tę tematykę- i do dalszych poszukiwań, gdyż jest napisana bardzo dobrze, również pod kątem biologicznym.

This book actually inspired me to go spend over $100 putting flowers and a “bee battery” on my balcony. Joachim Petterson is very real in his book. While Tanya Phillip’s “Beginning Beekeeping” was more like an encyclopedia, Petterson’s “Beekeeping” is like you’re sitting down with a beekeeper over a cup of coffee. While Petterson also covers the basics of bees and beehives, he also dives deeper into taking care of the bees and the art of collecting honey. You can tell he truly cares about empowering his readers to “save the bees” regardless of where they live - apartment buildings, urban housing, or more out in the country - and provides easy ways to “do your part” without actually being a beekeeper. While my current living situation may not allow me to reap the benefits of owning a beehive, I can provide a safe haven to solitary bees with a simple bundle of reeds and a few pots of flowers. I also want to point out that everything about this book makes me want to own it (I have added it on my Wishlist) - not only is the content something to keep around, but the weight, the binding, the texture, the font, the pictures - everything - is perfect and just holding this book makes me happy.

A decent introduction to beekeeping. The format was user friendly and the book itself was attractive and full of attractive pictures. The captions could have been more informative. It is definitely geared to true beginners. The information is basic and helpful. More experienced beekeepers will get less from it.

The translation to English could use a little more editing but otherwise this is a perfect book. Filled with beautiful photos and more information than I thought I'd ever need, this is defiantly worth the read for anyone curious about bees!

Polecam tę książkę każdemu. Tym, którzy kochają miód lub pszczoły i tym, którym jest to obojętne. Możecie dowiedzieć się sporo ciekawych rzeczy o tych małych owadach, poznać tajniki zawodu pszczelarza i pooglądać piękne zdjęcia. Nie wiem, czy potrzeba mówić coś jeszcze, żebyście sięgnęli po tę książkę i sami przekonali się, że Was zachwyci. Niestety, jestem kompletnym laikiem, więc nie mam pojęcia jak zareagowaliby na nią doświadczeni pszczelarze – obawiam się, że mogłaby być dla nich z kolei zbyt prosta. Ale przecież o to w niej chodzi.

Loved it. Incredibly informative with a clear lay out of year-round tasks and major chores. The recipes at the end were a nice touch.
