I really, REALLY adore the turn the story is taking. More than in other volumes before it, it not only gives us unbelievably dynamic and strategic fight scenes, but also some really good character development. How each characters react and feel about Tigrex (who is extremely menacing and scary in this manga btw - exactly how he should be!) is done in a very clever manner. Having direct, emotional stakes in this fight makes this so much better.
Having them build a plan on the fly, not knowing if it'll work funnily enough reminded me about my personal first encounter with Tigrex. In the game, I was severely underprepared and was so scared of him that I always screamed every time he angrily waddled to my Player Character. The more the fight progressed, I felt more and more anxious, and with only 10 minutes remaining, I just used every trick in my playbook and finally defeated him with the last items I had. The manga perfectly portrays the feeling of encountering an obstacle you first think you're not advanced enough for to defeat.
This video game adaption does something very few achieve, and that is just being a plain good and emotional story with great characters AND staying really close to the source material. I really like how the manga transforms all of the elements of the game to something very unique. Also, and I think I need to state this in every volume, but holy shit is the art amazing!!

I don't think I'm going to finish this series getting really bored of them fighting monsters every two seconds isn't really any time for much story :/

Raiga, Torche and Keres are battling the Tigrex while other hunters are trying to protect the village from other monsters. The Tigrex is a formidable foe that really pushes the hunters to the their limits.
A full on battle ensues and if you enjoy a tough fight this is the one to pick up. Beware of the cliffhanger at the end which will leave you wanting the next volume to find out what happens next.

A complete battle volume. Still fighting the monsters from the last volume, switching back and forth between two teams fighting different monsters. Some more background on Keres' father and a lot of talk about what it means to be a monster hunter. Some have selfish reasons, others noble.
