Phantom Ending: An Alternative Ending to Phantom of the Opera

Rate this book
When Gaston Leroux wrote about 'The Phantom of the Opera,' he began with little stories in the newspaper which later became a book. Phantom Ending tells a story that contains information that Gaston Leroux never knew. Frederik and Arik Aubor were identical twins, whom at the age of eight, were thrown out of their family estate because of their physical deformaties. Gypsies picked them up, tortured them for profit until they escaped and through their job working on the opera house, built themselves a sanctuary to music, their home on the lake underneath the finished Opera House. Arik worked with dangerous chemicals in his endeavor to create genius art but most experiments left him even more deformed than what birth brought to him. His lips and then his very nose were burned away during those trying times until he grew so mad that he brought in a coffin to sleep in, insisting to his brother Frederik that if he was to look like a living skeleton, then he surely must sleep in what the dead do. Both brothers possessed brilliant skills in the arts equally and lived together in their underground play land. But where Arik went about sponsoring a young singer, Federik did not. But the brothers did play in what Arik called their 'Empire,' games so twisted, they resulted in many deaths in the opera house, all blamed on Arik, the Opera Ghost. Until one night, Arik went too far, and with his love interest gone, he sought to wall himself up and die while Frederik, in a fit of anger, smashed all their mirrors and left their shared home on the lake. He entered the tunnels he knew so well, and fled from his crazy brother, only to encounter a strange woman who claimed to not only be dead, but lost. This story includes Mila, a woman from 2016, who, while in a coma, hears the soundtrack to her favorite movie of the year 2004, "Phantom of the Opera" and follows the music to find herself standing directly in Frederik's path, back in the late 1800s. There are things to this story you have never heard before. And Mila is given a chance to earn her angel wings and be a true angel to Erik.
