Gilbert and Sullivan created innovations in their productions which influenced musical theater throughout the 20th Century. Producer Richard D’Oyly Carte brought them together and built  the Savoy Theatre in London in 1881 to stage their shows which became known as the Savoy Operas. He also formed the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company which performed and promoted their shows for over 100 years. Including images and librettos of many of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most famous works. Also included are four superb productions of The Mikado Pirates of Penzance Trial by Jury the Yeoman of the Guard.
