A BBW recovering from a bad break-up + a sexy saber tooth tiger shifter + a sinister stalker and a deadly duel = one heart-pounding romance!
Curvy graphic designer Gwen Brooks is shocked when her boyfriend breaks up with her out of the blue. Sure, he'd never set her heart on fire, but she knows that sort of fairy-tale romance doesn't happen in real life. Gwen takes herself and her heartbreak to the sleepy Maine coastal town of Catseye Cove, to help fix up an old family home. But when she meets Jace, the sexy carpenter who's restoring the house, she realizes that some fairy-tales just might be true after all.
Saber tooth tiger shifter Jace Wyatt has spent his entire life in hiding, along with his clan. If anyone tracks them down to Catseye Cove, an ancient shifter blood feud could get them all killed. So Jace works as a carpenter and tries not to dream of anything more. But the moment he sees Gwen, Jace knows that she’s his mate. But can he trust he with the secret he's built his entire life around?
When old enemies resurface, Gwen and Jace have no choice but to confront their pasts-- and their desires. Will they survive the clash of the clans? Can they reconcile their differences and make a home for each other in the only place that matters… their hearts?
This is a sweet and sexy BBW saber tooth tiger shifter romance, first in the Catseye Cove series. Every one has a guaranteed HEA, with no cliffhangers!
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
I liked this story a lot. Jace was sweet and Gwen was trying to put herself together without a rebound. Edwin was a total loser. I would like to see if Cage and Delilah were a match.
Enjoyable but I think I expected just a bit more. A bit rushed, a bit too insta lust/love, especially by Gwen, who has just been dumped after a five year relationship. Obvious incidents and information are forgotten of ignored then everything wraps up fast with a tiny bit of tension. Extinct shifters sounded intriguing but Jace could have been any type of shifter. His saber tooth just didn’t stand out. I found the interaction with Jace’s father a bit strange. Did he dislike Gwen or not, he wasn’t very welcoming. Edwin was a pathetic coward and got off too lightly. I wanted and needed just that bit more definitive clarification from Edwin’s brother that the feud was not going to be perpetuated. Missing and misspelled words are annoying, this needed better editing. Read through Kindle Unlimited but I won’t remember this next week.
Amazing story about a saber tooth tiger shifter and his mate
Jace is the saber-tooth tiger shifter, a carpenter, and an alpha male heir. His family has remain secretive about being shifters because there in a blood feud with cougar shifters we're determined to end the saber-tooth tiger Clan for a couple hundred years.
Gwen is the artist who's family inherits a house in Cat- eyes, Maine. Jace realizes that Gwen is his mate, but they are both being targeted by her ex-boyfriend. Will they be safe?
The characters are unusual unique, relatable, and sexy. The plot is a fast-paced drama with a twist.
I like this story because it's a throwback Clan of tiger shifters which makes it unusual. This book is so fast paced I read it in the day. Highly recommended.
Jace and Gwen are beautiful characters, both sincerely caring about others. They are a wonderful couple. The blood feud adds just the right amount of action and excitement. I have to see if his brother gets a story. I hope he does, or gets his soon if it doesn't exist yet!
A fast pace, uplifting tone, character oriented storyline with some action at the end, vivid characters and some steamy scenes make this shifter romance a great, fun read. Try it yourself and see!
The Saber Tooth Tiger’s mate is a great read from the standalone books of Big Cats shifter stories . A walk on the side of danger when facing a blood feud. This is a good time for the Saber’s not to face mortal enemies alone and should be connected with others who want to help
Jace knew Gwen was his mate at first meeting. Her ex is his family's sworn enemy. Hatfields and McCoys all over again. Much different ending though. I felt sorry for the villain in the end.
Jace and Gwen's story is fun to read. There are twists and turns the reader will enjoy. The story has varied elements that will keep the reader interested. And it has possibilities for future stories. A fan can always hope..hint Hint. Enjoy!
The ability of authors to take words and create an entire world astounds me. When one author can take those words in a given genre and create several types of worlds, each unique and enticing is a simple gift. One that I intend to open as often as possible.
In Zoe Chant’s The Saber Tooth Tiger’s Mate we have such a world. Jace and his immediate family are Shifters – an extinct animal that no one would ever expect to run into in the surrounding forests – they are Saber Tooth Tiger Shifters, and their’s is a dying clan. Blood feuds have existed forever and the feud between these particular families has almost wiped out the Saber Tooth Shifters from the face of the earth. The Cougar clans have done everything in their power to eradicate the Saber Tooth Tigers, and as far as Jace knows, his family is the last surviving clan of Saber Tooth Tigers anywhere. They’ve settled in the quiet, little area known as Catseye Cove and while his family still lives on a small island, Jace has made his home on the mainland. He’s a carpenter by trade and a damned good one too. Quiet, he keeps to himself for the most part – waiting, for what he doesn’t know but some instinct is saying soon, just wait a bit longer.
Gwen is leaving Boston and an abusive, whiny, childish scumbag of an ex that she wasted five years on. Her family has come into an inheritance, one badly in need of repair home in the small community of Catseye Cove. She is going to be house-sitting and getting the house ready for the tourist season – surely someone would love to stay here in this quiet beauty. Gwen isn’t looking for anything more than peace and quiet, hard work – and the determination to reboot her life now that she’s cut the maniac loose. She never, ever expected to find the man who would change her life forever, or the one who would love her so completely.
There she is, finally she’s here – that’s all Jace could think of as he took in the sight of this beauty standing in front of him. His mate. But… she was human, and in trouble it seems. Can he really believe that she’ll protect his world, his family’s secrets? He doesn’t know yet, but he’s not letting Gwen out of his sight now that he’s found her.
The Saber Tooth Tiger’s Mate is softer, has a more laid back feel to it than many Shifter Romance stories. Yes, there is a very real and very present danger to Gwen and Jace – madmen always bring destruction. And the action is gripping and intense as Gwen and Jace fight not only for their own lives but the survival of Jace’s clan. There is also an unfolding love, one that is strong and worthy of the fight to survive one man’s madness for the gift of that life spent with the perfect for you mate.
I completely enjoyed The Saber Tooth Tiger’s Mate and would not hesitate to recommend it to any lover of Shifter Romance. While this story is a standalone, I can see possibilities within the storyline for future visits to Catseye Cove. Jace has a brother and a sister plus his partner/friend. Gwen has a very special best friend – plus there is an outside force as well. Yes, I can see where there are possibilities that I sincerely hope will be fulfilled one day.
It has become the norm of BBW shifter romance novels to be closer to erotica where the author practically beats reader over the head with BBW descriptions that do nothing for those of us who have a little more padding we are not proud of. I am happy to inform readers this is NOT one of those novels. The plot is well developed, no grammatical errors, the characters are not shallow, and the ending is neither flat or a copout.
Gwen came to Catseye Cove to oversee the renovations of her distant uncle's home. The hired carpenter is a Saber Tooth with an eye on his newly found mate, but an old enemy shows up to threaten not only their lives but their relationship (it's all in the priorities).
3 1/2 Stars - Gwen and Jace, their story was a little different than most shifter stories I have read. Have is a shifter, a saber tooth tiger, who is also a carpenter. His clan is almost extinct. There have been wars with another clan that is always threatening in the background.
Have meets his mate in a human woman named Gwen. She has moved to his area after a 5 year relationship with a guy who just broke up with her.
This story was just O.K. for me. It was slow in some parts.
This was a quick read. I really liked the characters and most of the storyline. I was a little put off by the cougars exterminating saber tooth tigers part. In my mind there's no contest. Saber tooth cats were huge on their own right. Being killed off by a cougar is laughable. I also would have liked to know what started the feud. Other than that it was great.
Jace was hired by Gwen's parents to restore the front porch of the house their late uncle left them. Gwen was 'house sitting' and when Jace saw Gwen, he knew she was his mate. She thought Jace was attractive but didn't want to start a new relationship as a rebound. Her ex of five years was a snob and a piece of scrum. Her ex was a shifter, unknown to her, and came to kill Jace's clan. To find out what happens, you'll need to read this book. Enjoy!
Action packed and romantic! Gwen has come to Catseye Cove to renovate her late Uncle's house. Jace is a saber tooth tiger shifter who's clan has been hiding for centuries from their rivals, cougar shifters. When Jace meets Gwen he realizes she's his mate, but her coming to town brings danger to them all.
Gwen and Jace's story was amazing. But you can't leave us hanging like this. Geoff needs a mate for those cubs of his and do Delilah and Chase get together? See more stories from just this one. A must read if you haven't already. Thank you Zoe Chant for all your great stories.
I have loved all of Zoe's books and this one was no different. The fact that she made it about an extinct animal just made it that much more special. The story line of feuding clans was interesting and enjoyable.
The book was well written and the storyline was well throughout. It had enough conflict to make it interesting. It was hard to put down I fell asleep reading it last night.
I liked the idea of a sabre toothed tiger shifter which could have been scary but Jace is so protective and caring towards Gwen. Gwen is perfect for Jace. Zoe thought up another great story. Keep up the great work.
The usual story had nice twist at the end of this one, I was pleased to to see that the girl was only interested in her ex being put in prison though best end was getting mate though
I knew her ex was unhinged, he was slowing descending into madness. Glad he got caught before he could do anymore damage and am glad they are safe again.
Great job! Loved the background story, didn't over do it, over and over again! Made me want to read, until the sun came up! Also feels like there should be a book two.... the beginning of a great series?
