Loved this book! Mary not only brings hope and encouragement to those in need of personal healing but also to those who struggle with doubt and unbelief. She offers up beautiful prayers to overcome obstacles, surrender our fears, and increase our intimacy with Jehovah- Rapha, the God who still heals today. As a prayer minister with a heart to pray for healing, I will definitely use this book in my ministry to others.

Encouraging, inspiring, uplifting...that's what I thought of this book. For anyone that is looking for blessed reassurance that healing is possible for them, this is the book they need to read. The combination of biblical accounts of healings by Jesus and His disciples, current day stories of healing and the prayers, Mary has created the perfect devotional tool. This book reminds us that with God, there is always hope, even through the most difficult battles.

I LOVED this book, which goes through biblical and current instances of healing. It was really comforting and interesting to read through. I also loved that it didn’t just focus on physical healing, but also how our emotional, mental and spiritual position, can affect our health and healing journey. Jesus makes us whole: mind, body & spirit, whether on earth or in heaven.

AMAZING

Without a doubt, Jehovah-Rapha is amazing! From the depths of despair, through the suffering and healing stories of others, I was drew closer to God and my trust in Him increased. Though I am ill, through Jehovah-Rapha my focus changed from my ailment and the struggles I am facing, to Him. Today, though I have not yet been healed, I have all I need because I walk with God, who I know for sure loves and cherishes me. God will truly bless all who read Jehovah-Rapha. I pray God blesses you with a copy today.

It’s obvious in Mary’s writing that the words on these pages have not come by study alone, but from abiding in His presence, learning of His ways and His nature. As you read the many prayers offered in these stories, you come away with the understanding that these are not written as a way to pose spirituality. Rather, they come from the reality of wrestling through each encounter and situation; circumstance clashing with truth which produces a cry of the heart! Mary doesn’t mask the realities of life in this book. By not hiding what many of us face, she deals with how those realities can challenge our faith, our perseverance, our will to press on until…and that until isn’t always known. Jehovah-Rapha is a book you can read from start to finish or in small doses. Either way it stirs one’s heart to pursue the One who is The God Who Heals. Not just for what His name implies, but rather His very nature…in Him we live and move and have our being!

Does God heal today? Whether you are seeking healing for yourself or want the encouragement, Biblical insights and prayers to minister effectively and expectantly to others, this amazing book delivers a resounding "Yes." Mary Nelson, herself a cancer survivor, brings Jesus' healings to life as well as numerous true stories of which she has been a part of in her ministry. Her poignant prayers that close each story are where "the rubber meets the road" and call forth God's Scriptural promises and desire to heal us, our friends and our loved ones. A must read ... and read again.

I really enjoyed Jehovah Rapha; deeply meaningful and moving.

I know Mary Nelson personally. I have served with her in Sozo sessions and am a member of Prayer Team 3. Mary is the real deal. She walks the talk. She lives what she writes.

I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with God, in need of any type of healing and to learn more about Jehovah Rapha. You will not be disappointed. Since the chapters are short, it is almost like a devotional. Easy to read a chapter or two and then, do not forget, to pray the prayers at the end of each chapter. You will be blessed.

I have been reading several books about prayer because of a desire to learn more about it. This book boldly delves into prayer for healing. It left me feeling completely convinced that healing is something that is possible in this day and age. The author, Mary J. Nelson, uses Bible stories, personal stories and testimonies to encourage the reader to believe. The book is broken down into 72 parts each ending with a prayer.

I loved this book, and I highly recommend using this book as a devotional. If used that way, it would give the reader encouragement and help to build faith.

Mary Nelson writes inspiring and encouraging words to all who long for healing in her newest book Jehovah-Rapha: The God Who Heals. I love the way Mary intertwines the human story with God’s story. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Mary’s words are both gentle and strong. These words bring hope, restoration and strength to those who are tired or afraid and need a healing touch from the very hand of God.

"Jehova Rapha: The God Who Heals" reminds us of God’s mission to heal even today! I enjoyed how Mary blended scripture with biblical context to remind us of God’s promise of healing then, and how it continues now with her present day accounts of God’s healing power. Whether your needs are spiritual, mental or physical, this books is a wonderful guide in bringing Jesus into your healing.

From the very first page, this book captivates you! Mary writes the truth of God's Promises and blends the scripture of Jesus' accounts of healing with current everyday miracles. I would strongly recommend this book!! It's set in a format which is easy to read (short chapters) yet the powerful impact it brings will change one's life. What a book of hope, strength and encouragement!

I won this book through GoodReads First Read program.

This is a book of 72 daily devotions that focus on healing and the healing power of Christ. Each day consisted of either a Bible story retold in depth or a modern day situation of a person being healed by Christ. After each 2-3 page story there would be a prayer which I prayed. This is really geared towards someone who is suffering a disease or physical injury.

I found this devotional very applicable to my situation. Although I have no physical malady that I am aware of my wife does and I turned the prayers at the end of the devotional into prayers for her healing. I am also facing an additional non-health related issue that has been hovering like a disease over me for the last couple of years. I used the prayers to pray for my "healing" too.

Highly recommended for anyone facing a major obstacle in their lives.

I bought this book as a way to cope with a chronic condition that began early 2017. I believe in modern day miracles, having experienced an extraordinary one in my 20's, and was hoping the prayers and stories would feed my faith and produce healing. While I am not healed of the condition, the daily encouragement and reminder of the sovereignty of God actually helped me cope with the condition better. The book is made up of short chapters (only 2-4 pages) that include biblical accounts of healing and the lessons we can learn from them or real-life stories of healing followed by a short prayer. Each prayer was beautiful and communicated things I wouldn't be able to put together myself. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it for anyone dealing with an issue for which they need healing. I will be reading it again and again for the prayers.

This is a beautifully written encouraging book. The stories are from biblical accounts and modern-day accounts. The author adds a powerful order at the end of each chapter.
I read some of this book during a terrible episode with Covid19 during the summer of 2021. I was hospitalized and the recovery at home was long and slow. The stories were easy to read in small increments as I felt trapped in the bed or loveseat. The prayers were helpful during days of weakness, massive headaches, and body pain, along with shaking, and wheezing. I was blessed to have found this book at the right time.
Yes, read it.

Good examples of prayer

Please note these chapters are “story-based”, to me, that does not detract from the book, but just a heads up (Jesus used story-based parables to teach, so I have no issue with the method.) I loved the prayers. For those needing help to audibly “name it and claim it” this is a great book. To live a life triumphant despite the circumstances, I would advocate for this too.

I read this book to help intercede for others. I found it worthwhile and appreciate the many scripture references.

The key is to meditate

I don’t like devotionals as those are superficial and those don’t tend to produce a lasting impact on people. Yet, Mary was able to kickstart an interesting train of thought along the book. It made me think about it day and night, changing the way to experience faith, and improving my relationship with God. I still don’t like devotionals, but I’ve learned that the key is to meditate a lot on this topics to make a real difference on our life. I will be posting a review soon enough about my journey reading this book.

Loved this book! I took my time with this one reading a bit here and there each day. It would sit with me while I pondered and prayed! Healing occurs on so many different levels and in layers. This was a friend in the morning, before the rest of my family got up, that helped me to see that miracles and healing really DO exist. Not cheesy, not preachy. I appreciated the tone of this book. Highly recommend!

God still heals

I recommend this book to all those facing illness or going through troubled waters. Also helpful to read if you want to come along side someone who is ill. You can be an encouragement and blessing to them. This book is filled with Scripture verses to help and use in your prayers. Overall a great book reminding us often of how great God is. He is Jehovah-Raphael, the one who heals!

Good Devotional

I loved most of this book and would have given it five stars except for the stories that depicted Scripture. Not that there’s anything wrong with them, but I just don’t think they fit well with the other parts of the book. That’s just my opinion and a matter of taste. Otherwise I found the book to be excellent and very helpful and inspirational. I highlighted a lot and took notes in my prayer journal. I recommend this book for anyone dealing with illness.

I will likely read this again as a daily devotional but I read through quickly this time because I didn't want to wait. I loved the prayers and the testimonies enclosed. I would recommend to any believer in Jesus. I think this is especially important for anyone going through a rough patch in their faith.

What a great little devotional book! I really enjoyed the way Mary narrates Bible stories and includes very helpful prayers at the end of each devotional. Good lessons about praying for restoration of body, soul, and mind. Useful for anyone who wants to draw near to God’s presence and learn more about what the name Jehovah Rapha means!

Inspiring and hopeful

This great book uses both the Old and New Testament scriptures, pass and contemporary stories to tell all of us that God loves us and wants to heal us of any disease or affliction. All we have to do is ask, have faith, be patient and know healing is coming. This book is helping me with my current illness...believe and receive the healing from Jehovah-Rapha

JEHOVAH-RAPHA means "the God Who heals," and this book is a collection of stories illustrating His healing Power. Some are incidents recounted in the Gospels and the Book of Acts; others are contemporary accounts.

But whether they happened today or two thousand years ago, these healings were only possible through the Power of God.

** VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED **

A refreshingly challenging collection of stories inspired by healings recorded in the Bible and healings both experienced and waited for today. Each entry is varied in style, uplifting and positively demanding, all presented in an easy-to-read format.

Excellent book. This taught me that we don't need to pray for healing, IF IT BE GOD'S WILL. Because it is His will for us to be well.
