Vincent Diaz's life was extraordinarily boring. He worked a boring job and went home to his boring life knowing he'd given up all of his dreams of being an artist and creating for a living. That was when Bryan Andersen barged into his life, smiling, laughing, and pulling him close, declaring him to be his new boyfriend— whether Vincent liked it or not.
Bryan had recently broken up with his girlfriend, Dana, who handled the breakup less than well, leading Bryan to come up with the ultimate excuse— that he had "realized he was gay" and that's why he couldn't see her anymore. She didn't buy it. He needed to find an alibi and quick! Together, Vincent and Bryan fake dating to throw Bryan's ex-girlfriend off his trail, but Dana doesn't give up easily, and Vincent and Bryan find their quick-forming friendship may be leading to a relationship that's not as fake as they had intended it to be....

Jerry Cole is a gay author who lives in California & enjoys writing love stories. Jerry has been writing fiction since he was a child. As a young adult, he worked as a freelance writer in the evenings & on weekends. Jerry started writing gay romance stories several years ago, but initially just for his own entertainment & occasionally sharing stories with his friends. In the summer of 2015 he published his first gay romance short story on Amazon. Overwhelmed by the positive response he decided to quit his “day job” & took up writing gay romance full time. When he’s not writing steamy M/M romance he enjoys globetrotting, watching movies with family and friends, working out, & being dragged down the road by his two Great Danes.
The author couldn't be halfarsed to write a decent plot, much less make the characters even remotely believable. And the story wasn't even that sexy! Lame all around.
Bryan and Vincent are likeable enough and cute together. All the other characters, especially Dana and Bryan's mother, are caricatures and too extreme to be believe.
The last 5% is just weird.
If you're looking for a low angst, easy read then this is ok-ish. If you want something with depth, character development and prefer your books to be even slightly believable then give this one a miss.
Another one I forgot to get back to and rate. Thank G-d for "read but haven't rated yet" shelves. This book ... this book was absolutely horrible. I mean, what the ever-loving-fuckery did I just read?!!? That's a whole lot of skimming I'll never be able to erase. My goodness ... just NO!! Book ... my name is ... NO. My sign is ... NO. My number is ... NO. I'm gonna let it go. I'm gonna let it go. Gonna let it go. Nah to the ah to the NO, NO, NO!!
Again with the straight to gay genre is FUCKING AMAZING. I just feel that when you fall in love with someone who isn't even in the same sexual orientation that you thought you were, really makes me feel their love even more. I dunno how to explain it, so that will just have to do. Anyway...I really loved both main characters, Vincent and Bryan. I loved Vincent because you got to see him grow out of his shell and really become an amazing man and boyfriend. I loved Bryan because he was so out there and alive and just crazy (in a good way) that you just couldn't not fall in love with him. The only thing that I didn't like was how many times both would say "im not gay", that just kind of got on my nerves. And then when either character would tell the other how he really felt and then the other would say, oh, I thought you were kidding. And both would do that to one another...I dunno....just weird. Anyway...would really love to read more of this author.
„Fake Boyfriend” is short story by Jerry Cole. I knew I was gonna like this book from the moment I saw its title. I love that theme! Vincent and Bryan’s first encounter was surprising and hilarious ;) Crazy, stalking ex-girlfriend is great reason to spend the day with stranger. Neither of them expected it to be such a good time. As the time goes by they keep their fake dating thing up, but soon they realize that ‚fake’ isn’t accurate anymore to feelings they have towards each other.
This book was amazing - funny, heart-warming, without unnecessary angst and dramas (well, except ex-girlfriend). Dialog was great written and main characters were really likable and sweet.
Best line: “You are my favorite stupid decision.”
Definitely worth reading! Highly recommended!

So many things in this book just rubbed me the wrong way. The number of times both MCs said "I'm not gay" was annoying. Then there was a straight female coworker of one MC who was worried if she could still call him a bitch. Why? Because according to her, “Well, you know, because one of you is the girl, right?” ...and you know, she didn't want to offend the one who's "a girl" by calling him a bitch... *smh* Like what even?? Pretty sure they're both guys... Ohh and this same chick invites the MCs to a party and tells them not to worry, “You both should come. You won't be the only queers there, I promise.” Umm ok how very generous of you for being so inclusive by pointing that out...*smh* Anyway, this is just another book with an unbelievable "gay for you" storyline that completely overlooks the existence of bisexual individuals. Feel free to skip it.
Sweet and swift read. Very likable MCs, on a journey of self-discovery as the become friends, and then more than friends. Double GFY/OFY, and I liked the way it was presented. Although there were some intimate and steamy interactions, the story was more about emotional growth. Focused on finding that special someone to stand by you as you set new goals and attempt to recapture dreams that have nearly passed you by. (Had anticipated a bit of PWP, but that wasn't the case. There was depth to the story, and I enjoyed the dynamic between the protagonists as they fell in love with one another.)
I see a bunch of not so great reviews for this book but not sure why. I really enjoyed this book. How the 2 meet is pretty funny. With a lot of first time gay books they aren't really believable, I could actually see how 2 people needing someone to love them for who they are, believing in them and finding it some where they would never look, in a same sex relationship. I loved it for that fact alone. It had a good storyline too. If you are into these kind of books, I say go for it, it's worth it!
Another sweet story from Jerry Cole! This is the second book I've read from Jerry Cole and I love it!! I'm also ridiculously happy there's an epilogue. Lol...
✔ Letto! Per me è ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ . . LINK KU AMAZON: (Letto in lingua)
This was a quick finding yourself kind of romance. It has a gay for you theme which I don't care for much but fake relationships are a favorite theme of mine and this one was fun.
I enjoyed the aspect of the story where both Bryan and Vincent grew as people and found the courage to go after what they wanted to have richer fuller lives.
The stalker element was a bit over the top just in that while Bryan eventually did go to the police, there could have been much more discussed about domestic abuse and stalking of men by women.
They both could have come to a deeper understanding of their sexuality as well.
But it was a quick enjoyable read with some really good parts but shallow and a lack of realism in places and details of location made it not as good as it could have been.
1.5* Vicent is in a coffee shop when suddenly a guy come to him and start acting es he was his boyfriend and asks him to follow the story so this girl that is stalking him could think he is gay and give up.
The story between the two main characters is cute BUT I cringe every time one of them say "I´m not gay" and believe me they say that A LOT.
ALso I CAN'T understand why Bryan didn't want to report Dana (his ex girlfirnd aka new stalker) because is pretty obvious that she's mental. But must say that makeup a fake relationship is not very usual too...
Cute, fun, quick read. It's nice to see the author progress and grow his skills. I liked both the main characters quite a bit, but the straight "friends" were a bit annoying and unrealistic. Also, Bryan has this attitude that even though his ex is a stalker who frequently demonstrates violent tendencies and eventually hospitalizes him, she "doesn't deserve to have legal repercussions". It's a demeaning and harmful mindset that minimizes the seriousness of stalking that sends a poor message to readers. Damn, I think I just talked myself down from three stars to two.

I'm going to repeat what I saw in another review "It's not that good. But I liked it." That's a pretty spot on statement about this. I enjoyed it, it was pretty cute! :) It's just not that good.
It wasn't totally clear to me going into it that neither of these guys have ever been attracted to a man before, as far as we know. I was surprised by that. If you're not into GFY, you should probably skip this one! If you believe most people are bisexual, then go for it! :)
2.5 stars but only because this made me smile a few times and I liked the ending. This was just too surreal and really unbelievable. I've only just finished this and I can't even remember the names of the mcs. That says it all!!
This was a pretty good read. Bryan Andersen broke up with his ex-girlfriend Dana who wouldn't take no for answer, so he told her he was gay and now he needs a fake boyfriend because she didn't buy it. Vincent Diaz's life was extraordinarily boring. He worked a boring job and went home to his boring life knowing he'd given up all of his dreams of being an artist and creating for a living. Vincent and Bryan come up with a plan to fake date only Dana is not giving up she was crazy. Both of the guys are straight but as they begin hanging out getting to know each other they both begin to question their sexuality. I really liked both of these guys. This was my first time reading this author but not my last. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
I really did love this book except for that whole consent problem that apparently people in general don’t consider. I appreciate the apology, but not having a consent issue would have been better. And I know I’m one of few readers who would have even read it that way, but that’s a societal problem that really needs addressing ASAP.
I can’t tell you enough how much I loved this book.
Also, if you need a good sex scene to enjoy a romance, this is not your book. The romance was awesome, the sex scene was meh.
MM. Totally fun and super cute. Vincent is tired of his boring life, until Bryan introduces himself as his boyfriend. Vincent and Bryan develop a great friendship as they get to know one another while 'fake boyfriends.' They encourage and challenge one another to be better. This is about who you love. That they love you and want you to be the best you. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This was the first book I’ve read by this author. And I loved it. It had me laughing out loud from the beginning. For me that’s always the sign of a good book. If I want to laugh or cry or yell out loud then the book has engaged me in the story and the characters. Definitely won’t be the last book for me with this author
A very nice story with two people finding a special friendship that grows, the gender of the couple really doesn't matter. Don't we all hope to find true love? I am hoping others novel of Jerry Cole's make me smile just as much.

I loved it!! The way the story flowed was perfect. You can relate to the characters' view on their life and work. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest unbiased review.
