This book provides very commonplace knowledge that is some of the first to populate when conducting a simple google search. Essentially, the book states that cultivating a positive mindset is enabled through meditation (to reset the mind from a negative cycle through focusing on breath), goal-setting, and mental triggers (realizing when a negative thought enters your mind— “catch it, challenge it, change it” CBT skill). That’s all. I think it was an underwhelming read that provided little to no insight. All of the “essential skills” the author claims to provide are accessible by typing in “how to gain a positive mindset” on the Internet. A waste of time reading. Not to mention, the book is poorly written (grammatical and punctuation errors) in addition to a very choppy and bland writing style.

Great ideas!

This book has a lot of great thoughts and suggestions. The author shares specific techniques to implement. I love these types of books!

Good advice and an actionable plan to increase positive thinking. Includes a two-pronged approach of cultivating a positive mindset along with multi-layered goal-setting. I will definitely try these techniques.
