A Dance for Him

Rate this book
How many rules would you break for the one person who makes you feel alive?

A long-term plan ...
Smart, feisty working-class student Paige Lytton is saving up for law school by stripping at a club once a week. She studies hard to maintain her perfect GPA, so her social life consists of steamy daydreams about her professor, Sebastian Morland.

She’d love to do more than fantasize about him, but that would ruin both their lives. Besides, Sebastian, a well-known writer and scion of a wealthy family, would never be interested in Paige.

Or so she thinks.

A short-term agreement ...
Sebastian hasn’t written a word in years. Paige, his favorite student, is a bright spot in a less-than-fulfilling life -- so when he finds out she’s working at a strip club, he’s horrified … even as the knowledge fuels his own forbidden appetites.

To keep Paige safe, he offers her a deal: dance privately for him … at his home. But Sebastian knows his motives aren’t as pure as he’d like to pretend.

Running out of time ...
Before long, Paige and Sebastian are forced to admit that their secret arrangement is more personal than business … that their dance springs from their deepest longings. Caught between guilt and desire, they surrender to the forbidden flame that burns between them.

But now the man who’s been stalking Paige has discovered the truth about their clandestine meetings. Will he bring their lives - and any chance at a future together - crashing down around them?

Love scenes are fully realized in this steamy romance, which is a standalone novel with no cheating and guaranteed HEA! ~59k words.

4 sexy stars****

Well this was one quick and sexy read. I read it in one sitting.
I never miss an opportunity to read about professor/student forbidden romance... or maybe it's not forbidden after all :) While reading I never got that feeling that I was reading something taboo.
This is always quite heavy subject matter, but here, author turned it into something altogether fun and raw.
So, we have Paige, twenty years old college student turned stripper and Sebastian, her professor.
I mean, I am not talking about some old professor dude, no, no, no... Sebastian is thirty, hot and very much alpha. And a dirty talker on top of that! Come on, what's not to like about him?
Chemistry between Sebastian and Paige is off the charts!

This story is so much more than a student-teacher romance. It is a intense and honest portrayal of two people immediately drawn to one another.
I think readers always appreciate seeing the affair from the both POV's and this is one of the things I really liked about this book.

I will definitely read more of Lara's books.
Great job Lara!

This was just ok. It's kind of ridiculous but I like ridiculous so I was ok with it. However, I did spend a lot of time rolling my eyes. Sometimes it was just a bit over the top but I finished it and would probably read the next book about Paige's friend.

So Paige is a college student trying to save money to become a lawyer by stripping.

She also has this huge crush on her teacher and loves to fantasize about him while she dances.

One night Sebastian walks into the strip club and saves Paige from having to do a lap dance with some creepy douche. He then realizes that he hates seeing the girl he wished was his stripping so he offers her a job. Dance only for him, at his house and he'll pay her expenses.

This turns into hot sex and a relationship and blackmail regarding the issues of will the Professor lose his job teaching because he's bonking his student?

DNF at 60%

The first 40% of this is a decent student teacher story with some good chemistry and dirty talk. From that point on it just went downhill for me.

The writing is where all my issues lay. It's repetitive which almost always guarantees a DNF from me. The sex language was not sexy (nether lips) and 'Oh, Dr Morlan' moans built up until I'd had enough. The whole thing came across as stiff. I even skimmed to the end to see when the conflict would kick in. Let's just say I'm not sorry I stopped where I did.

I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.

This is the first book that I read from this author, and I have to say that it was a steamy hot book. I love the book and the characters and love how the book turn out to be. But I do have to say that their was some part about the sex that I did not like at all. Don't get me wrong I love a book that has some BSDM into it, its just that their some part that I found discuss ting, but other than that I love the book, I am going to make this short since I don't want to give anything away.

The story begging with Paige she is a college girl who has big dream for herself, she is also a stripper once a week, what ever she makes on that night she use the money to pay her bills and put some money away to save up cause she want to go to law school. On Wednesday she has class with the teacher that she find that its hot and sexy, professor Sebastian she cant wait for that day of the week just to see him and fantasies about him, something that she always say he wont pay attention to her. But all that changes on one Saturday night when she on stage Sebastian is in a seat looking at her. He couldn't believe that his sweet innocent student was a stripper. but what they both would had never expected was for their life to change and turn up side down.

I love the way how Sebastian and Paige are with each other, love it how Sebastian blush in front of her when she does something, love it how he is not afraid to express his feelings, I love how Paige is so unexperienced but would love to learn everything with him, love it how open minded she is when it comes to sex.

I have to say that the Sex Scene are Hot, the only thing I did not like was that he only when down on her once, when she was always going down on him every time they had sex and it was always after they did it she suck him while he still had her juice on him make her taste her self I found that really nasty.

I really love and enjoy reading this book, now I am so curious about Ashely and Grant, Author Lara Richard THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this amazing book love it.

After reading a series of historical romance books and a post-apocalyptic book, I was in the mood for something quick and dirty. This was dirty, it just wasn't quick. What I thought was going to be a lightning fast read of a May-Dec romance ended up being quite lengthy and a little repetitive. The version I downloaded also ended at about the 60% point, with a bonus book by the author tacked on, which made it difficult to estimate how close to the end of the book I really was.

This is the story of 20-year-old Paige having a crush on her 35-year-old professor. The regard is returned and takes an interesting left turn when Professor Morland is attending a bachelor party at the local strip club and finds the girl everyone is drooling over is none other than his "A" student. As a dominant with a knight in shining armor complex, he can't let the lecher in the group have a private dance, so Professor Hottie "saves" her. Things escalate from there, but these two do truly have a giddy, falling-in-love sweetness about them, even with the D/s action that enters into the picture. She is inexperienced, he is more, but had left his clubbing days behind him after graduate school.

I think I kept reading because I expected something more dramatic to happen. Alas, not so much. Steamy, but without the depth I expected given the May-Dec theme and the suspense that could have been mined from a student-professor romance. Not awful, but not great either. 2.5 stars.

I don't think I can express how much I love this book!
The chemistry between Paige and Sebastian is off the charts.
I'm also a sucker for an alpha male who talks dirty. Especially when he makes his woman talk dirty to him =)

In class Paige may look like and innocent girl, but at night she's tempting men with her exotic dances once a week at a strip club. To feel the part all Paige needs to think about is her sexy professor Dr. Morland. But she never expected to see him outside the classroom, much less the club where she's dancing!

Sebastian knows giving into the temptation of Paige will lead to nothing but problems for the both of them. Teacher/student relationships are forbidden especially when the student is in his class. But Sebastian can't stand the thought of others looking at what he wants to be his and sets out to make a deal she can't resist.

**"darling, darling Paige. I've never met anyone quite like you. You're my obsession, my madness, you know that?"**

I was graciously given an ARC of this book and as always, very appreciative! I love getting to try out new authors and Author Lara Richard looks to have a promising future ahead of her!

I really loved both Paige and Sebastian. Their relationship was HOT from the get-go. I mean squirming in your seat, panty melting HOT! I just felt that I needed "more" from them as a couple. I wanted "more" from them as a couple because they had the connection but I needed it to be more "real" and "believable". It was all too fast but I think that was the point. The underlying premise was great, it just fell a tad bit short on the execution for me but the plot, oh yes and the older man/younger woman scenario.....LOVE it.

The story was quick, it was fairly free of drama and angst and the sex was great stuff!!! Don't get me wrong, I like me some hot n sexy sex but I also want more too. I realize this is an erotic read and it IS but it could also have been even more than that (I mean that as a compliment, too) with the right amount of tweaking on the characters (I felt they lacked a natural flow of dialogue, it felt robotic almost at times) and relationship-build (I like a bit more push and pull), add some drama and angst too, this would have been a 4.5-5 Star read for me! Characters needed more actual interaction and less inner dialogue for me! PS I am a complete lover of older man/younger woman romance, so this fit the bill!!!!!!!!

If you love a highly erotic, insta-lust, insta-love story then you will really enjoy this book! Congrats to you, Author Lara Richard on a pretty great start! I have a feeling you are only going up from here:)

**ARC provided by the author**

Now this book was without doubt hot but I can't give this more than 3 stars.

So, the story follows Paige, a student who works in a gentlemen's club, and Sebastian who's her professor.
I'm not a big fan of student/teacher romances as only one that I read was actually good, but this story seemed exciting to me.
However, I had a major problem with the author's writing style.

As much as I loved the story, I always had to cringe at their forced conversations and constant usage of the word ha!
Then all the repeating of other words and even events. In the begining I actually skipped some pages because of it.
But I kept on reading because I was still expecting something big to happen, you know. However, that didn't happen and by the time I finished it, I didn't even have mixed feelings about it. It was just a plain story, nothing deep or anything.

So I can't say I didn't like it, I just didn't love it.
It wasn't bad so... 3 stars.

I was kindly provided with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very good albeit fairly short read. Once I picked the book up, I simply couldn't put it down!

I am looking forward to seeing what work this author does in the future.

This book is about Paige, who is a fairly innocent college student by day and stripper by night. The other main character is Sebastian, Paige's professor. The book is from dual POV. The two main characters have been extremely attracted to each other from the outset but due to the student/teacher boundaries had not acted upon it. When they do connect lets just say there are fireworks of epic proportions!!!

This book was fun, sexy and that left me feeling good!!

A Dance for Him is a beautifully raw and intensely passionate journey of discovering and fighting for an exquisitely wondrous once-in-a-lifetime love. I was absolutely blown away by the purity and the plausibility of the storyline and the characters. This is a story that will slice into your heart and find the truth amid the lies and indecision. We should never fear who we are and what we want. Sometimes unconventional is exactly what we need, and we can’t settle for anything less than following our heart.

Paige lives a comfortable life. She has carved out an existence that she is mostly happy with. She is almost finished with her degree and managing her life just fine. She feels like she is missing something, but she can’t put her finger on it until her life literally collides with Sebastian. He is everything she has longed for and never realized it until he is quite literally in her face. What she has chalked up to a school girl crush is coming to life in a very real way. She isn’t ready to be thrown into the deep end of the pool, but she doesn’t want out either. She just needs time and more information, and then everything will make sense, right? Or will she waste precious time and risk losing out on something utterly fantastic that she will never have again?

I truly can’t say in words how much I adored Sebastian and Paige! They were intensely drawn to each other by attraction, but that eventually developed into so much more than either expected. The push and pull was almost too much at times, but it was incredibly realistic. It was only when they let things take their natural course that they discovered something wonderful to be cherished and delicately nurtured. Even with their unconventional beginning, they still had so much promise as long as they listened to their hearts and not to other people. They were so amazingly good together, and I loved seeing them find each other and fight for what they both wanted.

Lara Richard has taken my heart by storm, and I don’t care if never gives it back. Her characters were strong and stunning, and they transformed this astounding story into something truly magnificent. I plan to keep an eye on her in the future, and I recommend that you do as well. I have a feeling that we will not be disappointed.

Paige is a stripper. Twenty, and in college.

Ops ops wait, don’t think ahead!

You should at least meet her and get to know her.

There’s moreeeeeeeeeeeee to her. And you’ll see it. Or rather, read it.

Then, Sebastian…

The good-and-amazing-all-in-all professor of Paige.

Paige is in lust with him..

But then it was a surprise when there's someone familiar at the crowd. Staring at her... Sebastian Morland. Yes. The one and only.

He's so gallant, so correct, so elegant and lofty of manner... It would be completely unlike him.

It is so shocking to Paige, to everyone to see the Professor at a strip club.

So interesting...

Sebastian defines Paige as his best student.

He also knows that Paige has a 'little crush' on him.

Paige is not discreet huh..

(Ohhhh.. Can I tell you how I like the endearments Sebastian gives on Paige? Yes, really.. Okay hahaha)

The deal..

How the things fell into places..

And yes, they actually became closer than ever..

(Hotness overload)

(Really… If you like erotic romance get it a try)

I think there will be more.

I kinda like how Sebastian gets jealous intensely. Hahaha can't he think that for Paige he is 'it' for her.

Oh well, let's see.

But then this Caleb guy don't want some happy endings for Paige and Sebastian.

Really, Caleb? You need to hdkshdn off dude!!

But, I must say that great love overcomes all.

Aren't you excited to meet the person who will be your 'one'? Hahaha!!

A Dance for Him by Lara Richard was gifted to me in an ARC in exchanged for a honest review. This book was such a beautiful story about a college girl who has a crush on her older Professor who is not only smart and sexy as hell, but who is also a very proper successful man. She thinks she doesn't have a chance with him because his older and his her Professor, but that's not the only reason she also thinks his to good for because she works in a strip club and because she younger. But what Paige doesn't know is that she couldn't be more wrong. See what she doesn't know is that she is the perfect woman for Sebastian. See her nice respectable Professor has certain taste that no woman has been able to fill well that's until little virgin Paige comes along, but of course once Paige becomes Sebastian he lets her know that she will no longer be working at the club. Of course he makes it sound innocent that he just wants her to dance for him privately at his house. And what woman would turn down that offer of course once she in his home things start to get more heated, and after the second time she goes to his house she makes it very clear to him how she feels about him and what she wants from him. Yes Paige and Sebastian get there happy ending but that doesn't happen until there feelings for each other are tested. I loved reading this sweet hot sexy story. If you have not had the pleasure of reading this book yet you should really check it out, and find out for yourself how hot this book is.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a review.
I really enjoyed this story. Yes, it has hot, steamy, scenes, but it's also romantic with a really good story line! I enjoyed how both characters are written and I enjoyed reading the story from both of their perspectives.

Paige is innocent, but with a desire to explore her much "dirtier" side. Sebastian has that dirty side down pat, but we are also given a chance to see his sweet, romantic, and sometimes vulnerable side. The relationship between the two is "taboo" as student and teacher, but the relationship is developed in a way where it never feels "wrong" and I found myself really hoping that nothing would prevent them from being together.

And like I said their are hot, steamy scenes - and those were written very well! Like "take a cold shower after reading" well! Sebastian ranks right up there with my favorite dominant male characters! And Paige might lean towards being a "sub" in the bedroom, but she is not a pushover, and still has her own opinions and is free to make her own decisions. I've really gotten annoyed in other books when the female is with an alpha male and she allows him to totally dominate every aspect of her life and she just becomes annoyingly weak. Paige's character was much more realistic and easy to identify with for me.

I recommend this book if you like romance with a side of well written sex scenes!

Paige is a beautiful and incredibly smart college student who is working her way through college by supplementing her income stripping once a week at the local club. Her courage comes from imagining her ever so hot and established professor as the only man in the room. Her fantasies in class and daydreams of him at the club come head-to-head when Sebastian walks into the club one night for a bachelors party! When he sees his star student writhing on the pole, he is stunned, her beauty always captivated him in class, but seeing her now dancing pulls a strong desire to protect her from the other men in the club. Knowing he shouldn't want her for himself, but finding it hard to hide his desire and selfishness. He offers Paige a deal, to dance for him and not at the club and make more money doing so. But they will be testing their wills keeping business and school-life separate. And it's intense and beautiful to watch. When you find the one you want to protect, you will do everything you can to make it happen. Even if it costs you your job, but winds up igniting a passion for your career all over. With some light bdsm and off the charts chemistry, this erotic tale is one not to be missed. Class is in session, so take your seat and open your book for this sinfully hot read!! #oneclick #mustread

I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Sebastian is an author who now teaches at the college Paige attends. He's tall, handsome, and sexy but he's her professor so Paige has to settle for seeing him in her thoughts and dreams. Paige is trying to get through school by being a dancer once a week at a local strip club. While it isn't the best way to earn money she can't pass up the pay she receives. One night when Sebastian shows up at the club with a bachelor party things get steamy between professor and student. Sebastian is just as infatuated with Paige and she is with him and he's determined to take care of her no matter the cost.

I absolutely loved this book!! It's the right amount of sweetness mixed with taboo erotic pleasure. I could have easily read this in a day or two had my schedule not been so crazy. I fell in love with Sebastian almost immediately. He's a bit of Christian Grey mixed with the heart of Jonas Faraday. Lara is excellent at giving at lot of detail and leaving nothing out. She builds stories and characters that while a little on the extreme side (hello, it's a romance novel) you could see happening in real life.

I can't wait to read more from Lara!

This story was a good read. Once I picked the book up, I couldn't put it down. I am excited to see what else this author does in the future.

This book is about our heroine, Paige, who is a college student by day and stripper by night and Sebastian, Paige's professor who attends a bachelor party and is shocked by what he finds. The two have been attracted to each other from the beginning but when they allow themselves to act on that attraction, the sparks fly. It is just plain HOT!!!!! The interaction between the two is well-written and the sex scenes are smoking.

Here is my disclaimer on this book. If you want a book with a lot of emotional depth, character development and complex story line, this is not the book for you. Everything remains fairly shallow and there isn't a whole heck of a lot of character development or character growth. For me this book was exactly was I needed....a fun, sexy read that left me feeling happy.

Sexy, sensual and thrilling!!!
Oh my, Dr. Morland is utterly delicious! I absolutely loved his dirty mouth, his dominance, and his sensual side!!!
Dr. Sebastian Morland - professor, well-known author, and trust fund recipient. He's beautiful inside and out and he has his sights set on his student, Paige Lytton, even if there is nothing he can do about it until..........
Paige Lytton is brilliantly smart, beautiful, and secretly fantasizes about her professor! She is working part-time at a strip club to save for law school. Besides the stalker creep she has to deal with, things are going well at the club until he walks in...... Dr. Sebastian Morland! Now, he's offering her the deal of a lifetime - to dance for him privately so she doesn't have to go back to the club! The lines get blurred fast as their undeniable chemistry (both intellectual & sexual) is too much to resist and it is one delicious ride! However, the shadows in the dark are right around the corner. Will they be able to conquer what lies ahead or are they doomed from the beginning?

Well ok! Professor and student....seriously what's not to love! Forbidden love. We all have a fetish for it, lol.

Paige has been wanting Sebastian from the moment she laid her eyes on him. Unbeknownst to her, HE felt the same for her. Neither knew how to deal with it. Enter the strip club that Paige aka Tiffany worked out here is professor Morland. What better place to act out your fantasy??
Now that all cards on the table where does this leave our couple? There is a creep that can't seem to get his life in order and the rest of the world to keep in the dark while they want to shine.

The only reason i gave it 4 stars and not 5 the beginning was just a bit slow for me. It just took a while for the story to pick up but you could feel the potential. I am soooooooo glad that i did because it sure did pick up and with a BANG.

Also OMG what's the deal with Ashley and Grant??

I would recommend this book.

This was an exciting fast paced book that's readable in 4ish hours. The plot was similar to books I've read in the past but it didn't feel like I was reading material I've read before. It did have moments of feeling rushed like the ending and I can't say I got a real feel for the characters as the descriptions of them were slightly vague, but they were good people, except for the creep of course. The intimate scenes were well described with just the right amount of detail and thank god the words "he touched me THERE" weren't uttered once, cos that got old real fast (I'm sure you know which book I mean). This is the first time I've read Lara Richards material but I enjoyed it and would recommend her to others and will be mentioning it on my book blog. I'm looking forward to Ashley n Grants story as I think I know where that might be going

This story takes you on a journey of a young college student who like most girls has a crush on her professor. She also has to work in order to pay her bills. By day a she is a college student by night an exotic dancer. One night both her worlds collide. Paige is working one night when she see's her crush Sebastian. He is there for a bachelor party and when he takes one look at Paige he knows he will do anything to save her from this. He makes her a proposition she can't refuse... dance for him privately. This leads to many new discoveries that neither were prepared to deal with. Then add in the creepy stalker and blackmail this made for an interesting read.
I liked the characters and how well they interacted with one another. The story was definitely a hit for me.

I was given this book for an honest review I loved the book. Paige a college student by day an exotic dancer by night who has been crushing on her professor, who happens to be crushing on her as well. Sebastian thinks she is to innocent and a student doesn't and that doesn't mix well for him. A bachelor party at Paige's club changes everything. There is hot sex and some unexpected drama that won't let you put the book down. It's the ending that really got me and I hope there is another book telling me why Paige's friend/co worker Ashley won't get near Sebastian cousin Grant. Basically an excellent read and I highly recommend it.

Authors need to stop with the virgin stripper heroines already, or just the virgin heroines in general... it’s old. They make the h a virgin, and have her act like she’s so much better than girls who have sex, but then they have her drop her panties and act like a dog in heat the minute she meets the hero. It’s annoying!

3.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

Ok, I do love these types of forbidden reads. I enjoyed reading Sebastian and Paige's story. It was a quick, hot read. However, I did feel like the interaction between Paige and Sebastian was a little stiff at times. Always so formal and it felt a bit forced. I
That being said, I did love the other characters, Ashely and Grant. I want to read their story. They intrigued me. I'm hoping that they do get a story.
Their appearance, along with drama that Caleb brought was what kept me swiping pages. Caleb had me wanting to jump into my kindle to throat punch him.
This was my first Lara Richard read and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

I received a copy from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

Actual Rating: 2.5

This was an okay read. I just think it was not the book for me. For me, the story dragged, and that made me lose interest in what was happening. I thought the story had promise in the beginning, but then it just got confusing. Therefore, I thought the story was pretty dull.

The characters were okay. I do not think I was able to make a connection with the main character through most of the story, so I think that made me a bit annoyed. However, I think the major problem I had with this book was the ending. The ending was so abrupt and I did not like that. Overall, a decent read.
