This world is made up of all kinds. Most go about their days like any other, while some possess a superior strength, talent, intelligence or even a desirability that is far beyond others. A select few however, realize that they own an even greater set of qualities. Qualities that no mere human could match. One of them is, Ithan Nova, who is merely a teenager when he begins to truly understand his abilities. It all begins when his life takes a troubling turn. Questions arise within him. Can anyone understand what he is going through? Can anyone else feel another presence without actually seeing them? Does anyone else know what it is like to be drawn to a place you have never been to? More importantly, does anyone else have the ability to see their own anger, power, swirl to a deadly end?
Only a select few can, a devilish few and that few is about to find him. Ithan Nova is not simply a troubled teenager, he is The Devil Forgotten.
For every one she gets wrong, she gets the next one right! I love the change in format as this story was told entirely from Ithan's POV.
I was kept guessing who his father was because the last novel left Ryan's jaw on the floor and it wasn't revealed until the end in this installment. I won't give it away but it was a shocker to me. I contribute it to the fact that years has passed between me reading the first and second set of novel in these series. A continued reader might have put it together sooner.
This novel was light, funny and interesting until the paranormal couldn't stay away. Once again, I believe this series is at its full potential when it is just guns and drugs being traded.
I loved Ithan's group of friends and even Bappa until he became an old tool! Ithan was just the right amount of anything needed within a moment. He carried the story beautifully and it was just as interesting to watch him as a teenager as it was seeing him making adult moves to provide for his friends and Aria.
I like Aria. She is a different brand of female than the ones we have been introduced to before. She is her own brand of interesting but I just didn't connect with them as a couple and even the foreplay was bland in this one. Though I relate it to them being teenagers having underaged sex.
This story is a blast into the past that intersects with the present and a small push to the future. Don't expect to see the characters you have grown to love as it focuses entirely on Ithan's life with an Elijah update.
Still, it was a welcome break and a good background and build up to the war ahead. I can't wait for the Jayzon final stand. I can imagine that it will be epic!
