With people are camping outside the churches in the city, waiting for their own miracles, trying to keep a low profile has been an easy task. Michael has had her under house arrest and with the cherubim gone and the remaining angels too busy (or lazy) to help, Angel has been too distracted to worry about the fact there are two Princes’ of Darkness in New Orleans. Until Ty – the Nephilim she doesn’t know if she should trust – comes to her with information that could lead to the end of Asmodeus.

When tragedy strikes, Angel has her hands full trying not to let the convent descend into chaos. The list of things Angel must accomplish keeps getting longer, and as each item grows more important, so too does the urgency at which it must be completed. With her list of allies constantly changing, can Angel remove the evil from New Orleans and keep Joshua safe?

Cheryl works in an office by day. By night she leads a (not-so) secret life DJing, and throughout it all, is constantly scribbling away as the plot bunnies demand constant attention.

Her first novel was written when she should have been revising for her exams. While it is unlikely to ever see the light of day, it was the start of long relationship with the evil plot bunnies of doom.

A need to do more than just one subject led her to the University of Hull, where she graduated with an honours degree in American Studies. For the third year of the four year degree, she was able to call Baton Rouge home. Since then, Louisiana has claimed a large chunk of her heart, and remains a place she will always consider home.

LSU was where she discovered FanFiction and currently writes (mainly) CSI:NY stories and a Rescue: Special Ops story.

When not transcribing the stories of the angels and archangels, working, or DJing, she is at the beck and call of three cats – all of whom rank higher in the household than she does.

Absolutely brilliant!

Well, except the WHOLE LOTTA BAD that’s happening to the characters... but “it’s always darkest just before dawn”, right? So things are bound to get worse before they get better—and I’m counting on that!

In spite of VERY intense situations where it looks like evil is on the rise, I saw characters rise to the forefront, no longer just lumped together in the background. For Angel, even, she’s seizing the moment to take charge and MAKE things happen, instead of the things happening TO her while she tailspin’s out of control.
The plot was well-balanced and paced enough not to be overly boring, there’s plenty of laughs and moments of grief—well done!

The third instalment in the Louisiangel series, Angel Tormented continues the story of Angel, a red haired ex-human current Angel, in her struggle to sort out her new angel life, to figure out her feelings and relationship with Joshua (her charge to protect) and to stop Lucifer and his minions from ending the world. Just as Angel is getting the hang of this angel thing, she is exposed to the world as angel, which is a HUGE no no. Now in trouble for that, she watches as the cherubim go their own way from the covenant and as Michael tries to balance things without them with the virtues breathing down his back because of Angel's mishap.
A little boring, Angel Tormented continues the story, picking up where book two ended. Angel is still a very sassy and witty character, but she seemed less well formed in this novel. It also seemed like there plot jumped around. It opened up a lot of avenues of plot but then really didn't satisfyingly conclude any of them by the end of the novel. I see that this was done to with hopes to lead into a fourth novel, but for the book to be good itself it need to have some form of major plot development. It just did not meet that requirement. That aside, it was still moderately interesting to read, which is why I give Angel Tormented the rating of FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS!

A great continuation on the series with Angel the angel. Noticing more romance driven narratives in this one or maybe I was more caught up on previous novels. A great series to get into and satiate your angelic/demonic fix.

Today is the day guys! Angel Tormented is out!!!

I have been really lucky to have been given an advance copy by Cheryl. Ever since the first book Angel in Training, I have been addicted. If you ask me why? I could not tell you for sure, but for some reason I got really attached to the characters and the books and we can safely say the rest is history!

I mean all you have to do is go through my old blog posts to know it's true.

But back to what is going on, let me think.... Angel Tormented takes off a short while after the ending of Angel Eclipsed, where tabloid news is all over how there are angels on earth!

The cherubs are still gone!

And the doozie, we are still not 100% if Lucifer has risen or not! I mean we have been going over this once since the end of Angel in Training and that is why the cherubs got pissed and left and yet after so much speculation, well I still do not know 100% sure.

But, after much thought I am going with Angel and the cherubs on this one and say HELL YES!!!!

Lucifer has risen and now we need to find him!! I am being full of spoilers today, well more about the previous books really than this one, remember we uncovered that we had 2 of Lucifer's top ranking Prince of Darkness in new Orleans as well and one is Joshua's boss in the person of Asmodeus.

The one spoiler for this book I am going to give you is that Luke Goddard the sing from Eclipsed, is our number one suspect as in him being Lucifer. To be fair, it is speculation and yet again we have no proof. But, I do like the idea very much.

So I have given you the setting and bearing in mind this is book 3 out of 5. We are halfway through the story and pretty much at the height of it all.

Guys, something happened!

Something really bad happened and it broke my heart and I cried and cried and cried from that page till the end! It was as bad as me crying over A Thousand Boy Kisses.

I do not want to overshare and ruin it for you, because if someone had done it to me, I would be royally pissed, so as I always say you guys gotta read the book!

I am going to take a side note and say that the cover is amazing! I think all the covers from the series are absolutely wonderful little pieces of artwork. So this one is for you dear cover artist! Come to think of it, I would not mind at the end of the series, having all 5 on my wall cause they are really well done.

In terms of the writing, Cheryl is getting better and better every book! I have enjoyed watching the evolution of the writing and the books are we are adding volumes to the series. I think by book 5 it is going to be out of this world.

In terms of the characters, there are not much in terms of new additions of any major changes that I would consider a major impact to the others or to the storyline other than the bad event I cannot bring myself to discuss or I am going to cry again. Though, I would say that this is pretty much the turning point/defining moment where Angel has really to see who she is and what she is becoming.

I am really enjoying this part very much all things considered!

What about Joshua?

I know you are wondering, well to be fair the one question I have about him I still do not have an answer to. Why is Joshua so important? I haven't figured it out yet, but eventually I will!!

Alright, I do not want to keep you guys as you should be reading the book and not my never-ending review and speculations... though I am more than happy to discuss anything you want. So to sum it up, Angel Tormented is bloody well amazing! I devoured it in one sitting though I had to go hunt down my box of Kleenex and resume reading after "the event".

I think after reading this, you know I am not only a huge fan of the series but also a massive supporter of Cheryl. Writing book isn't easy, I could not do it to save my life, but one thing for sure that I know is the amount of love and care that is put in writing the series and that deserves a metric ton of kudos.

Here you have it, my own version of a piece of heaven right in my ipad and my bookshelves! I hope you come to love the series as much as I do cause it is well worth it!

In the intoxicating third book in the Louisiangel series, "Angel Tormented" the cherubim have left Michael's House, people are camped outside and Angel's under house arrest. But nothing will stop Angel from uncovering the plans of the two Princes' of Darkness in New Orleans and whether or not a pop singer might be possessed by Lucifer. When she receives a message from the Nephilim Ty about Asmodeus about a nefarious scheme he's hatching at the Port of Orleans Angel investigates only to suffer a tragic loss.

With the Old Ursuline Convent in an uproar, their leadership changing, and the rules constantly being altered, life becomes very complicated especially with the cherubim gone and the Angels in the House unwilling to defend themselves as the numbers of Fallen increase. But undaunted Angel is determined to investigate Asmodeus' plan with its ties to the murder of her friend, and the son of a Fallen while keeping her charge Joshua safe.

Fast-paced, the action continues as Angel fights to keep Joshua safe while trying to remove evil from New Orleans. She calls on the help of Veronica and the Cherubim, "teens with an attitude" who are more warrior-like than the Angels who're just learning to cook and keep their home clean but refuse any self-defense training.

The story heats up when the leadership in the House changes and rules are broken. Angel is more determined than ever to find out what angelic laws are set in stone and which can be modified. Intensity and suspense escalate with a brutal confrontation at the Port, but leaves questions unanswered. Is Lucifer alive? Why is Joshua so important? Yet through all the upheaval and violence C.L. Coffey lightens the tension with injections of dark humor in the snippy remarks between Garrett and Angel as well as with Joshua's sexual flirtation. Imaginative and well-developed the story keeps you on the edge of your seat until the climax which begs for a 4th book.

In this plot the chemistry between Angel and Joshua ignites as they begin to acknowledge their love for one another. But it's a battle of wills between the two as Angel fearing for his safety tends to be overly protective which infuriates him not only as her boyfriend but as a detective trainee.

The characters continue to infuse this story with passion, energy and drama. Angel can be brash, stubborn and impulsive, but is a good judge of character and has a tender-heart, while Joshua Walsh the detective trainee is confident, relaxed and sensible. In comparison to neat, organized and rule-oriented Archangel Michael, Cupid is insecure and struggling with his leadership role but continues to be practical and effective in helping Angel. I like Veronica the cocky, confident Cherubim and her temperamental sidekick Garrett who constantly get Angel's attention by kidnapping her.

C.L. Coffey's writing style is fluid and natural, the plot line for "Angel Tormented" exciting and gripping as Angel draws closer to defeating Asmodeus and Beelzebub. I look forward to reading the next novel in this riveting series.

This author never fails to deliver. I can't believe I stumbled across her - best decision ever to buy Angel in Training !

I don't think I have cried so much over a book in a VERY long time. I won't give spoilers away, but wow, this tugged at my heartstrings and considering it's an urban fantasy, I certainly wasn't expecting that.

Angel Tormented takes place a few weeks after Angel Eclipsed and things are getting bad in New Orleans. The cherubim have left the convent and doing things their own way. It seems Veronica is keeping them in check, but someone really needs to punch Garret. Possibly with a freight train...). Cupid and Angel are trying to get things on track on the House, and not finding the task easy. Considering everything, I'm not surprised.

Michael, oh my beating heart. I really started to warm to Michael, and his confession - my heart melted. And then Coffey ripped that heart from my chest, still beating, and destroyed me. In such a good way.

Joshua is turning into a sweetheart - I knew it. Under all that tough/pretty guy exterior, I think that Maggie has brought him up well. How he behaves with Angel, protective, but giving her the space she needs, stepping back and letting her do the fighting (even though you can see his concern sky rocket) - that's what a relationship is about. He's supporting her just as much as she is him. Definitely a well balanced romance.

(Which now has me worried because I've just discovered what Coffey is capable of doing to my heart).

And Lucifer - man, I was not expecting that!

I'm going to end up a gushing mess because I love this series so damn much. I do not know how I'm going to be able to wait until next year. I think I've been ruined for books, because this is my standard, and nothing is comparing.

If you haven't read this series yet - you're bonkers - go out and get the first book. Coffey is doing herself an injustice by only charging 99c for it. Snap it up while you still can. You won't regret it!

Book three! Finally! After Angel in Trainer and Angel Eclipsed, I had great expectations for the Lousiangel series. And book three does not disappoint: quite the opposite, it shatters all expectations and delivers a powerful third installment, possibly the best in the series yet.

Book three takes off in the aftermath of Ty’s leak to the press. People are clamoring for miracles, and Angel is lying low, trying to work out what is happening with Beelzebub and Asmodeus while staying out of sight. But with the cherubs gone, it’s almost impossible to get anything done. Especially since the angles can’t seem to do anything for themselves.

But the novel picks up speed incredibly fast. First of all, a main character we know and love is brutally murdered, and now, the stakes have never been higher. The book is much faster paced than the first two, and you really feel the importance of what’s going down. There’s more than one murder to solve, and ranks to pull together: it’s getting serious, and it’s going down. The Princes of Darkness have got a plan, and Lucifer’s at the heart of it: but what on earth are they intending?

I love how you can really see Angel’s character growth in this book. She’s fed up with waiting for orders. She’s tougher than ever, and she’s out with a vengeance. Her relationship with Joshua is also moving forward, and I’m so glad to see how strong they are together. It’s cute and romantic while also being badass, all without being the center of the plot.

This book is much darker than the ones before. The stakes are higher than ever, and Angel is not going to take it for much longer. So many twists, with a powerful ending to boot, and now I’m dying to know what happens next.

If you’re a fan of Supernatural, you need to read this series. It’s fantastic.

I'm going to start with a public service announcement. This is not a standalone novel. I strongly recommend that you read books 1 and 2 in the series to get the fullest benefit.

Unfortunately, I didn't do that, and whilst I was easily able to get up to speed with the characters and most of their interpersonal connections, as well as the highlights from the previous 2 books, I nevertheless still felt that I had missed something.

But, on to the story. This was a very easy tale to get caught up with, and notwithstanding the subject matter, there was a gritty realism at times which grounded the narrative.

I felt that the author did a decent job in creating multilayered character interactions, shot through at times with an element of humour.

I have to say that, with the tragedy in question (no spoilers), the ease in which the individual concerned apparently succumbed was a little disconcerting. That aside, this was a decent read.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

The series just keeps getting more gripping the further on it gets, I feel so incredibly invested in these characters and am happy to see the development of Angel and her relationship with Joshua. This addition to the series has so much going on that I'm not going to spoil,To some up how good the plot is getting I finished this book after a night shift I expected to maybe get 10 pages read before passing out I ended up finishing the lat 85 pages of the book because I just had to know what was going to happen. I'm so glad I stumbled across this series and I'm super excited for the next installment it can't come fast enough.

A must read

If was funny and romantic with a few murders in between. I will be keeping my eyes open for the next in the series. It's been a while since I found a series that had me interested from beginning to end. I couldn't wait to finish one book and get to the next.
