Disappointed
While it started out great, it quickly went down hill. The plot is so full of drama and danger that the character development is weak. The dialogue is frequently cheesy and the relationship is so fast it's unbelievable. Too much is happening for the story to be enjoyable.

When Cassandra “Cassie” Blanchard is working at Scruples the hometown restaurant where she lives she is joking with three older ladies then Malik Devain comes in. Cassandra can’t help but be attracted to him. Malik also notices Cassandra and likes her too. In fact Malik yearns for not just her but her blood and Malik knows that Cassie is his mate. Malik is really a vampire sent on a mission to destroy Cassie emotionally by getting rid of someone that hurt his family. As Cassie and Malik get closer the love they have for each other throws the whole shifter world along with the vampires into turmoil. Can Cassie and Malik face not only his family but the others who are willing to tear them apart or will their love be able to save them both?
This is a great paranormal fantasy romance story filled not only with shifters but vampires! Really can it get any better than this combining the two worlds together making them either work against each other or in tandem to fight against a greater evil? The story is not only based in a little tiny town in Florida which almost seems real enough to have shifters and vampires but Scruples is definitely a place that seems well worth a visit! Yes this book is part of a series but easily can stand alone too. Of course the story also moves exceptionally well never lagging in deception, action or steaminess from the two strong characters Malik and Cassandra. Malik’s family dynamics is definitely in question and needs some explaining especially when part of his family is one that definitely is more into killing than having time together. Plus there are some icky moments concerning Cassie’s cat but he didn’t seem a bad guy either. Malik is definitely sex on wheels; protective to a fault and despite his nature has a human quality that makes him lovable! While Cassandra on the other hand truly defines what a strong resilient heroine is! Yes she has fears and is scared of very real threats she manages to be someone to really admire that is hard to not have a little girl crush on. The next book will definitely be something to be read after this one!

I truly enjoyed reading Cassandra! Vampires, Werewolves, oh my!!!!! Cassandra is a human who had a horrific childhood. Yet she overcame that and became a great friend to those around her. Malik is a vampire (dun dun dunnnn) yup and a hot one I might add🙊 he was sent to do a "job" but instead he found love. I absolutely love this series!! Augh I can't wait for Kyle's story I love him!

Awesome read.
This series is getting better and better. I love the relationship between Carly and Logan plus Cassandra and Malik. The hurt that Cassandra went through at the hands of her step dad Harvey messed her up from the age of 12 haunted her in her adult life also. This story is awesome and I recommend that you read it to get the juicy details.

Cassandra is a bartender, who loves her friends and her job. She has a dark and painful past that she strives to overcome, but it keeps creeping back into her life. Meeting a man who not only turns her head, but her heart is definitely unexpected. But can she bury her painful past so that she can find her future?
Malik, a vampire, is on a mission from his uncle to avenge his murdered aunt. Meeting a sweet and sassy bartender that captures his heart was not part of the plan. To complicate matters she is friends with the shifters that caused his family so much pain. But, is everything as it seems? Can he find a way to avenge his family without losing the girl?
This is a romance with a lot of dark undertones, but it's done with enough finesse that the author keeps it from being overly graphic and reveals just enough for the benefit of the story. Cassandra and Malik are drawn to each other right from the start. They both had obstacles standing in the way, and it was such a great story the way everything unfolded. Cassandra is sweet, beautiful and lonely. Malik is handsome, sexy and loving. The characters are developed beautifully and with plenty of depth and emotion. The story itself is engaging, well paced an brimming with passion. If you enjoy romance, paranormal or simply a great story, then this book is for you.

This is the first time in reading this author but have wanted to for awhile. Cassandra seems to be enjoying the banter of 3 customers whom you find out later have watched out for her. In walks the tall dark and handsome that seems to have come to meet her specially. She also to agrees to have dinner with him which I think is daring on her part. You find out right away he is also different. Then again you will find out she is surrounded by different. She has some great friends who all watch out for her. They also have a reason too, even though they have not been able to keep her from what has happened to her they do their best too now. This is one lucky girl I would say and it is a point that keeps you reading because you too like her alot and enjoy seeing what and whom she is surrounded by. Now Malik though has his own agenda but the pull of her will be his undoing. As you go on the story will tell what danger lurks with him and why he is there. She also has danger of another kind popping back to terrorize her with you on the edge can it be stopped. Their relationship will grow but the drama will continue as such that you have to see who will come out on top. As paranormal goes it is exciting plus good romance that when I finished I did enjoy her writing. The story carries you along without wanting to wander until you see the outcome.

Ever been reading a book and was so into the story that you didn’t realize you were at the end? This happened with this story. I got so wrapped up in what was happening to Cassandra and Malik that I didn’t know the book was ending until it ended.
This is a story about Cassandra who has survived so much trauma. My heart broke for her. But her life gets turned upside down when Malik walks into Scruples, the bar where Cassandra works in. Malik didn’t realize the affect Cassandra would have on him in person. This is their story of how they overcome people trying to tear them apart and wanting to hurt them. But most of all it a story about Cassandra overcoming her biggest obstacle, herself.
I loved that you get to hear about Logan, Carly and their baby. And I love that you learn a little bit more about the Murphy sisters. You also meet some new characters that I hope we will see again in the third book.

I don't know why I am surprised at liking this book. Ms. Kellen has had me hooked since Enigma. She is a very talented write the has the ability to draw you into a story and keep you engaged to the very end.
Cassandra is no different. You start off thinking what's so special about this character and the more you read the about her she seems to draw the most unusual and people to her and in this book she is still kind of clueless about all the supernaturals in the world. She is fierce in the protections of those she calls friends and deadly to those enemies but she cannot seem to protect herself.
Enter the vampire and she did not think they were real. Malik is on a mission to destroy but he gets sidetracked by Cassandra. These two coming together will cause all kinds of mayhem to those around them.
Looking forward to the next installment in this series.

This is okay for a light read. There may be eye rolling.
The plot is surprisingly complex but sadly the characters suffered for it. They barely have time to feel an emotion before it's off to deal with another crisis. In a romance, that just doesn't work. While the editing is done well, the sparseness of emotional details made me feel like I was reading a graphic novel--without the pictures. The cover is amazing!

Amazing
The second in the series and just as amazing as the first. If you don't fall in love the cassie and melik something is wrong. They are amazing from the start. I loved being able to catch up with Carly as well. I kinda fell in love with Kyle a lite too. It's an amazing read. One you will absolutely enjoy!

Good 2nd book
Delighted to have found this book. I love what the author writes and this book is no exception. Characters from the first book are carried over to this book , however, the two main characters carry the story in their own right. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Wow!
I loved it! It pulled me in immediately and I literally could not go to sleep because I just had to read this book. I'm definitely a fan of her books and I'm looking forward to reading all of her work.

It was amazing
This was the second book in the Scrupulous series. I thought the first was amazing but this one was even better. Malik is a sexy and mysterious Vampire on orders from his uncle to kill every member of the Sanders family. Cassandra is the best friend of Logan and Carly Sanders. Cassie holds a lot of dark secrets inside of herself. Wonderful, wonderful series. So much danger and mystery. Absolutely loved it.

Emotionally charged and eventful, with a HEA! This is a story that can be read alone or as the second in the series, be enjoyed as a set. I was very wrapped up in this book and the pages was flipping with speed. If you liked the first book you are going to love this one!

Upon meeting Malik Devain her life changes. He brings out feelings in her she has never encountered before, but also comes with secrets of his very own.
Cassandra was a roller coaster ride !! Filled with the world of the Paranormal , I really enjoyed all the characters in this book. Unique creatures, kick axx familiars and a solid plot that will have you friskly reading till the end.
A giggle or two thrown in for all those who love a laugh or two for sure.
We see past characters entwined within this story line. Secrets unraveled, romance, murder , mystery , heartache and also dark pasts brought to surface.
Malik is a strong character, his loyalty and love never faltered throughout the book and the love and devotion all the friends and family have for each other is certainly unwavering and faultless.
The story line was face paced - kept you glued to every word and every event. The suspense had me hanging on the edge of my seat and the romance swooning like a teenager in love for the first time lol
Ditter Kellen has given us a paranormal romance with steamy lovin, hot characters, well penned and likable characters and also ones that you would happily burn at the stake.
A smooth plot , crisp dialogue if it was a hamburger Id say you got the lot !!

OMGosh, Malik makes me melt. He's a hunky, smexy beautiful man. But he's not really a man, he's a vampire and was sent by his Uncle to track down Logan Sander's father (from Scruples one) and murder the whole family in an act of revenge.
But in walks Cassandra beautiful, outgoing, spunky Cassie. She hides her pain behind her outgoing persona and Malik instantly want protect her and keep her near. Cassandra distrusts men, suffering horrible sexual abuse as a child has made it impossible for her to enjoy a man's touch. But Malik makes her feel safe.
So much action going on in this story. From Malik's Uncle appearing to get the "job" done that Malik is unable to finish to a terrible "man" from Cassandra's past pursuing her. There is so much for Malik and Cassandra to overcome.
Are you ready to be overwhelmed with action, love, passion, betrayal, rebirth, awareness of ones own self-efficacy and worth? Cassandra has it all. I LOVE Malik.........dreamy, strong, sensitive, dark-haired blue-eyed dream come true.
