Josefa and the Vu

Rate this book
When Josefa is met by a giant mysterious warrior claiming to be an ancestral guardian spirit, everything gets chaotic. Meanwhile Jack Bucksworth, the school bully, has stolen his family's sacred tabua and to get it back, Josefa and his friend Ming must embark on a terrifying adventure involving dangerous cliffs, cheeky brothers and eerie laughter.

This gripping adventure story will appeal to children aged 9 - 12 years.

'There is an effervesence about this tale of Onehunga resident Josefa, overweight and picked on by bullies, that will appeal to a wider range of readers than the Fijian-Tongan-Pakeha author's target audience.

Its not just the tale of Josefa, overcoming the bullying son of his father's factory boss, with the help of a form-changing Pacific Island spirit called a Vu - its the warm-hearted, hard-working web of family and community surrounding Josefa and his friend Ming Chan that makes this a pleasure to read. Perfect for classrooms.' Dominion Post

Bien ejecutada novelita infantil.
