Interesting story of the success of Boost Juice and the woman behind it. I would have to say accidental entrepreneur is a bit misleading as Janine Allis is a very driven individual.

(Audiobook) Three stars perhaps is not a fair representation of the book. It is a good book and enjoyable to listen to. It was repetitive in parts and Janine's glowing references to everyone who works in Boost became underwhelming. I have the feeling this is her way of encouraging people. As a business book, there are some well-worth pieces of information. And Janine does not make it look pretty - a lot of hard work and many, many long days and weeks have gone into Boost becoming the company it is today.

Not bad, not brilliant - which is not a reflection at all of the energy and success of Boost and the work ethic of Janine, her family, partners, employees business associates.

I try to leave only positive reviews - if I haven’t got anything nice to say I just usually don’t leave a review at all. So let me do my best to offer a fair review... I love what I’ve seen of Janine on tv and wanted to love this book but actually, it’s a bit of a mess. It’s one thing to be great a business or juice, another thing entirely to be great at writing your story in an interesting and compelling way. There are some useful lessons here, perhaps especially so for women in business, but the book itself is sort of a mish mash of poorly structured and sometimes repetitive ideas. So if you’re prepared to overlook the fact it’s a bit all over the place perhaps you’ll still get some important lessons out of it. For me, I struggled to even get through it and when I did, didn’t feel particularly satisfied. But kudos to Janine for everything she’s achieved. Hopefully her next book will have the benefit of a better editor knock it into shape.

I recently finished listening to Janine’s audiobook - The Accidental Entrepreneur.

Now, I’m no business-minded gal - literally hate thinking about the risk of what this would look like & the fear of no stability freaks me out! - but I appreciate the Boost brand so thought I’d give this a go.

It’s so fascinating to me to hear about the why and how someone takes a leap to becoming their own boss.

I loved Janine’s backstory, hearing about her life pre-Boost, her travels, family life and childhood. I really enjoyed hearing about her passion, and turning it into the business it is today while juggling the role of ‘mum’ at the same time.

I appreciated her honesty and acknowledgement that there were many great contacts who helped her get to where she is today.

There were a few comments that I didn’t really resonate with, but overall, a great story for someone who has no intentions of going out on their own. And let’s be honest, we love an Aussie success story.

I really wanted to like this book because I have so much admiration for Janine but it was disappointing. Weird structure that seemed to just jump around. It’s part memoir, part business advice and doesn’t blend the two well enough to flow from one thought to the next. On a positive note, there is some good advice, business insight and plenty of good stories shared by Janine. The writing isn’t amazing but it would have mattered a lot less if the book wasn’t so messy and repetitive. This book could have been so much more... alas!

Janine Allis is an unbelievably driven and motivated business owner. While I have no interest in owning a franchise myself, I still found this book engaging and full of valuable insights. Her journey starting Boost Juice to building a global brand is fascinating.

That said, the book sometimes feels like a collection of excerpts from different sources—perhaps other books or interviews. Certain stories are repeated or re-explained as if the reader hadn’t heard them before, which made a few chapters feel redundant.

Overall, it's a great read!

I enjoyed this read immensely. Janine provided a great insight into the passion and dedication required in running your own business and even if you are not in your own business or in or thinking of setting up a franchise many of her key points were valuable. Janine has provided a new lens on these points for consideration as well as offering more insight into the importance of controlling your own minds state.

I encourage anyone wishing to pursue personal or business growth to have a read.

Better than I thought. This book was a great read and made me feel like anyone can build a 300 million dollar company in their 30s with a heap of kids and no money. Worth a read if you'd interested in entrepreneurship, personal development and good biographies.

Really interesting story about a girl who never finished high school but went on to create Boost Juice, which has now passed $2b in global sales. Goes to show that there is now blueprint or stereotype for a typical entrepreneur, and with the right attitude, anyone can do it.

(Audiobook) Very interesting how Boost has become a global company. My god this women has some energy. Interesting idea's behind the growth of this business. However not everyone wants to build a business as grand as this. So take from it what you will. I also found she kept referring to her husband as she needed her husband behind her to support this business, which was a little annoying. Because she was basically saying you need a strong partner behind you. A lot of women start businesses without one.
