Before the Great Patriotic War he was brought up in the family of Ilya Yakovlevich Marshak (brother of Samuil Yakovlevich Marshak).
Graduated from the Moscow Correspondence Polygraphic Institute (1953).
Member of the Great Patriotic War. In the early 1990s, the Kultura publishing house was created, where Georgy Yurmin headed the children's literature department.
The publishing house became his first place of service - before that he worked at home all his life.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals.
Laureate of the competition for the best book for children (1976).
Member of the USSR Writers 'Union (1965) and the Moscow Writers' Union.
Yurmin Georgy passed away on July 21, 2007.
The urn with the ashes was buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery, Moscow.

দাদু তার নাতীকে বলছে, কত ধরণের চশমা-ই তো আছে। দূরের জিনিশ দেখতে পারিনা, তার জন্য চশমা, আবার আছে আঁতশী কাঁচ, অণুবীক্ষণ যন্ত্র, টেলিস্কোপ, পেরিস্কোপ, আরো কতকিছু। সবই তো আসলে চশমা।
হ্যাঁ বইটা বিভিন্ন আলোক যন্ত্রের পরিচিতি মূলক বই। চমৎকার। অলংকরণের কথা বলতে হয়। ইরিনা কিসেলেভ্স্কায়ার আঁকা। কোন বয়সে এঁকেছে কী জানি? বাচ্চাকালে যেরকম করে আঁকতাম সেরকম করে আঁকা। প্রথমে পেন্সিল দিয়ে আঁকতাম, এরপর ক্রেয়ন দিয়ে ঘষে ঘষে রঙ করতাম [ধৈর্য্যশক্তি থাকা পর্যন্ত], সবশেষে কালো রঙ দিয়ে প্রতিটা অবজেক্ট আলাদা করে দিতাম। এই কাজটা যদি আগে করতাম তাহলে দেখা যেত পরে রঙ করতে গিয়ে ছবির উপর কালো কালো ছাপ পরে যেত। কিছুটা বিচ্ছিরি দেখা যেত। ঠিক ওরকম করেই আঁকা। বইটা দেখলেই মনে হয় বাচ্চাদের জন্য। সুন্দর।
বইটার মালিক "সেলসাবিলা আনসার", বাওয়া স্কুলের কোন এক ক্লাসে নবম হওয়ার জন্য পুরষ্কার পেয়েছে। মেয়ে ভালো। বইয়ে কোন দাগ নেই, কোন পৃষ্ঠা ভাঁজ নেই, একদম নতুনের মত। এখন আমার, আহ! ^_^ [যিনি বইটা বাছাই করেছেন তার প্রশংসা করতে হয়। সঠিক বই। জ্ঞানের সাথে গল্প।]
