With each emotionally charged chapter and the brutal honesty of fat flashbacks, the author explains the pains of gaining weight, the adventures in becoming a better person, and the successes and failures of one woman's life after bariatric surgery.

Jessyca was born in Flint, Michigan. She has one brother and one sister. She is a graduate of Flint Carman-Ainsworth High School and the University of Michigan-Flint with a degree in English, with a specialization in Secondary Education. She acquired her masters degree from Marygrove College in Detroit. She lives in Flint and teaches English at her high school alma mater as well as serving as the school's varsity girls soccer coach.
