Inspired by a motivational speaker, Max volunteers to help the disabled children at the local orphanage. While at it, he uncovers a secret that changes his perspective and sets him on a collision course with his old rival, Tolik.
Grandpa Anton offers his advice, Tanya and Alex offer their support, but it’s up to Max to take action. Follow Max on his greatest quest yet, as he journeys from his hometown, through bitter cold and near starvation, to the biggest city in all of Russia.
Along the way, Max must conquer his own problems so he could help others with theirs. Finally, he realizes a profound truth: Sometimes the best way to deal with your enemies is to help them.
Another hit in the series from Vic Connor, Max! 2: Stressed is a fast-paced adventure that both returning fans and first-time readers will love!
This second book in the series tells us about Maxim, a 12 year old boy who keeps on wondering if aliens have landed and taken over his body and his mind. Seriously, strange things are beginning to happen to his body and mind especially when he is with Tanya, the girl he secretly fancies. He blushes or vomits or faints or gets embarrassed by other physical changes in his body. And at times his mind goes out of control with weird thoughts.... Besides all this he is actually a very caring person and when he sees a problem, he goes out of his way to find a solution to it even if it has something to do with his enemy and the school bully. He has two very good friends and they live through some exciting adventures together. Can you imagine getting into trouble if you go out of your way to help people? Well, this is what happens but it all works out well. He is falling in love for the first time and we read about a lot of things in this connection that either puzzle or embarrass him. Luckily he seems to learn from this too. I laughed and I cried from time to time, but I so enjoyed this story! This book can be read by boys or girls and I even know of a good many adults that would learn a thing or two about life from it. This book was provided by the author at no cost and this is my unbiased review
