This is a nonfiction book about Peru written in Spanish. The pictures of Peru in this book make me want to go visit, but the facts listed were as dry as the coastal section of Peru. I used a 5th year Spanish student to translate and help evaluate the text. The facts were boring--the mountain people like to eat meat and potatoes. It would be more interesting to learn that one of the meats they eat is guinea pig. (It's considered a delicacy.) I learned that from my translator. The picture of girls in skirts and sandals playing soccer looked wrong. The facts about Peru are good for a classroom assignment and it would make a good reader for a 3rd year Spanish student, but it is not a fascinating book.
