Single mom Megan Sullivan travelers to Paris to visit her best friend Harper who works there. On a night out she meets Luc Chevalier and it doesn't take a long time before they hook up. But a casual fling with a sexy Frenchman is soon turning into something more serious for Megan, but does Luc feel the same way? Can Luc a man who never ever thought about settling down with a single mom change his womanizing ways?
I feel like I'm the odd one out seeing all the glorious reviews for the book on Goodreads, but I never found the book any good. I wasn't that fond of either the characters or the story and there seem to be a trend by the all the romance books I have read lately to include lots of graphic sex scenes. Well, it is a smart way to sell books, there are probably many people that enjoy reading about sex in books, I just get bored lol, I just wished that the story in the book would have been better. But it's like watching an action movie where 90% of the budget went to special effects and 10% to the script. You get a lot of explosions but not a good story. This book felt like that. It was very predictable. I will not go into details since I don't want to give away the plot. But I like books that surprise me, Breaking Love never surprised me, and I was often forcing myself to get through it.
Last I will leave you all with a quote that really made me dislike Luc: “This is confusing. You're obviously attracted to me - Which is, of course, how it should be - but you don't want to be with me? How is that possible?" he asked with a teasing grin.” Yeah Luc, she is a woman she must be attracted to you, you big stud muffin! (of course, she is but she is written to fancy him, but if a man said anything like that to me, that I must be attracted to him, I would have been pissed off by his ego!)
Thanks to Piatkus for providing me with a free copy for an honest review!
This was really sweet and full of passion! I loved the fact that it was a mature 'grown up' story w the main characters being older and having real life issues. It was a predictable storyline, but Mr "Frenchman" Luc Cavalier is the things we grown women dreams are made of :)

Before reading Break In Two, I would have yawned--or maybe rolled my eyes at the idea of a rich, french womanizer as a romantic hero. Add to that his name being Luc Chevalier and he has a ponytail... well, there was no way this guy could be my book boyfriend material. But then something happened. This secondary character started talking and he intrigued me...I needed more Luc and I needed to read his book ASAP. Ta-da! Along comes Breaking Love! Okay, so it wasn't exactly "Ta-da", we still had quite a wait.
Luc was worth the wait. He was blunt and confident and sexy. All at once he was cementing and yet shattering stereotypes and preconceived notions ideas I had about Frenchmen. Romantic? Completely. But not in a "this will get me laid" way. Blunt in his opinions? Yes, but not cruel or supercilious in any way; it's honesty without sugar-coating. Arrogant or conceited? No, just a realistic, healthy self-esteem tempered with a playful sense of humor about himself. Totally attractive. Magnetic.
Well-endowed, wealthy, funny, smart, Luc was the whole package. He had it all. The one thing he didn't have, but also didn't desire, was love. Until Megan walked into his night club and fell into his arms, he didn't believe he would ever be bitten by love. Having a relationship with Megan--a single mom from Colorado--would have been inconvenient and seemed impossible to maintain. They both thought it wasn't feasible, and would be irresponsible even, given the fact that she had a child to think of. So Megan and Luc gave into one night of passion and said their goodbyes.
Luc soon found out that goodbye wasn't something he could handle with Megan, so he found a way to talk her into a long-distance relationship. "Is that strange for you?"
"Yes, definitely. It's unusual for me to want to bore anyone with the details of my life."
"Uh-oh, Luc. It sounds like you might be getting attached to me..." Megan teased.
Luc shook his head. "Certainly not. It's just that I am only now realizing how fascinating I am for other people. I want to give them the pleasure of hearing about my every move."
Megan laughed hard, covering her mouth with her hand to prevent herself from propelling food at him. When she recovered, she swallowed and replied, "You're so full of shit, Chevalier. You like me."
Keeping things casual doesn't last long and before Luc knows it he's falling in love with Megan and her son, Ethan. The risk of hurting Ethan in the long-run is something neither Luc nor Megan are willing to gamble on so they decide to split, unable to be casual and unable to fully commit.
The road to getting back together is rocky and there's a few cliched conflicts thrown in there. But I can't lie. I don't care. I loved it! I loved Luc, I loved Megan and I was crazy when things weren't working out for them. I would recommend this book to any Contemporary Romance reader, along with the first book .
I really wanted to love this book but I just couldn't. I didn't connect with the story or the characters. While I found Luc overly charming and darling, I just couldn't get into the story the way I would have liked. Having said that, I did like. Luc, the male lead you're meant to fall in love with, was my favorite part of the novel. The female lead was so bland that I have to look up her name, it's Megan. I could finish the book which is a sign that it wasn't absolutely horrific. I give Breaking Love a wish I could have loved this 3.5 stars.
Breaking Love was my first book by M.J Summers and I really enjoyed reading it. The narrative style is very pleasant and I loved both characters. They are both lonely and convinced their life is perfect as it is. But the time has come for them to define what they really want and it might not be what they were convinced they needed before meeting each other.
Megan Sullivan is a single mother, raising her son Elliott alone after a bad divorce. She is independent, strong and has long ago stopped wishing for the companionship of a man, mainly to protect her son. When she is invited to Paris to be the assistant of her best friend for a fashion photo shoot, she has no idea that her life will change forever. In Paris, she meets Luc Chevalier, a French-American businessman. She is attracted to him but is convinced that a relationship is not possible. They have nothing in common, not to mention they don’t live on the same continent. Luc is arrogant and is known as a player, but she will discover there is more to him than she first thought. As Luc and Megan both fall for each other, they will have to reconsider their priorities in life and accept that some things are simply meant to be.
This book was a great page-turner, I read it almost in one sitting. I loved this emotional and seductive story of self- discovery and second chance, with two great heroes who will be each other’s game-changer. I missed however some form of epilogue as a perfect ending.
I received a copy of this book from Book Enthusiast Promotions, in exchange for my honest review.
Breaking Love is a heartwarming story with a burning passion that just can’t be denied. It’s the best of both worlds. The plot contains all the tender and compassion of a great love story that still manages to light the pages on fire with its steamy and seductive romance.
Luc was to die for with his marvelous French ways while Megan was the strong single mom, doing what it takes to make it on her own. Wounded by their own life circumstances, they struggle to find happiness when the thought of a relationship scares them both to death.
Loved it, Loved it, Loved it! It’s what I call a deep dish storyline, the perfect balance of story and steam. This was my first of many more reads to come by M. J. Summers.
I received this copy of Breaking Love from Book Enthusiast Promotions - Gretz Corp in exchange for a honest review.
2.75 stars. This one just didn't do it for me. I can't exactly pinpoint it down but I think it was the writing style. It felt too formal and not real. It also had a soap opera taste to it that was too OTT. It was a great story idea though, the implementation just was lacking IMO.
“You know, Megan, sometimes we have to take a chance on something that isn’t logical but feels right.”
Breaking Love was a really lovely and thoughtful book, I liked it so much more than I was expecting. I really enjoyed the way it was written, there was such an easy flow to it for such a meaty book. I hadn’t read the previous book in this series, and even though Luc was apparently introduced in the first one I don’t feel like I was missing out on anything.
I do love when a self-proclaimed manwhore is brought to his knees by an unexpected woman, and that’s exactly what happens to Luc with Megan. Luc is such an endearing character- he really grew on me throughout the book. Megan was so set in her ways, to see her growth as a woman, and as a mother, was really refreshing. I was so rooting for these two to finally have their ah-ha moment, to finally realize it wasn’t worth the fight any longer, to finally see that they were more than perfect for each other.
This is a heartwarming story of 2 people who thought love wasn’t in the cards for either of them, who come to the realization that you really do have to take chances, even if it completely goes against what you thought you wanted.

So I came around to like Luc who I haven't been able to stand since we met him in book 1. partly because Simone pissed me off. who deletes an email like that? I also got annoying with Megan for not realizing there was a good thing right in front of her. Talk about dense? Drives me nuts!!!!!! Overall good book, easy read, not too much drama but still doesn't hold a candle to book 1.

I first read Break in Two a long while ago and unfortunately for me, I kinda forgot about this awesome series -- I know, right?! what was I thinking!!! Well a couple months ago I was given the opportunity to read Breaking Hearts and fell totally and completely in love with Trey and it reminded me what I was missing!!!! So now I am making my way through the rest of this series and loving every freaking minute of it!!!
Let’s talk about the sexier than sexy, Luc Chevalier for a moment shall we?! Because of him I have a new-found love for over the top hot Frenchmen with a delicious accent! Add to his good looks the fact that Luc is such a romantic, funny and caring man and well hell what more could a girl ask for?! Luc tries to convince himself and anyone that will listen that love and marriage are a colossal waste of time and questions why anybody in their right mind would want to be tied down to another person. Then comes along Megan who quite literally falls into his arms and runs his theory over like a damn freight train!!!!
And Megan, well I have a lot of love for Megan’s character! She was incredible, the way she handled the shitty hand her ex dealt her and just moves on and makes the most out of her life for the sake of her little boy. I really respected the way she went about things even if I did want to slap her upside the head a couple of times ☺ Man, is she a stubborn woman lol…..
I love the way these two were brought together and the way their story unfolds throughout the book. I laughed, got angry, was disappointed, swooned, thought my ipad might catch fire (yeah this is a super HOTT read – did I forget to mention that before?!) …. Ya know, all the feels you are suppose to have with a great read!!!! Thanks again MJ Summers….. I can’t wait to read Harper’s story!!!!
Hello again, Luc Chevalier. If you read the first book, then you've already met Luc, the sexy Frenchman, business mogul, and complicatedly honest-to-a-fault man that the first book's heroine met on the plane and almost had an affair with. Ever since then, that arrogant character has already intrigued me. That goes without saying that I've looked forward to reading this book.
I liked it that the author was consistent in writing Luc's character. He was still very frank, which gets him into trouble, especially with the women who had brains and wasn't just after him and his wealth. I also really liked the relationship between Luc and the heroine's son. It was really golden.
I liked the first book in this series, but I felt that there wasn't much that bound the main characters together, so their relationship crashed at the first sign of trouble. This second book, though, I truly enjoyed this. There was enough bond between the main characters. There were things other than sex and chemistry that held them together. I was also pleasantly surprised at the way Luc's character was played out. From what I know of him, I would never have thought he'd end up being a sweet hero.
I think the only minor thing I liked the least was the hot and cold emotions from the heroine. I get that it was difficult for her to completely take a chance. However, when it happens one too many times in the book, it kind of gets old. Anyway, I feel like Luc and the little boy really owned this book. Well done, Ms. Summers.
I really loved the sound of Breaking Love, and I was particularly excited to read it. I should mention that Breaking In Love is part of a series, but it is perfectly fine to read this one as a standalone, as that is what I did and it was thoroughly enjoyable!
MJ Summers definitely knows how to write a great story! I had never read any of MJ’s books before but I was drawn in straight away by Breaking Love, the storyline is fascinating and addictive in equal measures!
I really liked Megan and Luc – they had SUCH chemistry ad I fell I love with the way they bonded and went together, I feel they were really suited for each other! One of the things I liked most was that Megan and Luc had their own lives, and their own background stories, and I liked that we were able to see them as individuals as well as their scenes together. I loved the passion between them and I was hooked to their story wanting to know what would happen to them and how their journey together would progress.
If you like a romantic book with a bit of drama, and characters that you will fall in love with and root for then this is for you! Breaking Love is a romantic and steamy novel that is very enjoyable from start to finish.
A MUST READ! This book is AWESOME. You fall in love with Luc in the first few chapters. I love the "grown up" story. This is not your typical virgin meets playboy, this is for the grown ups ladies. You will love this book even more than Break in Two, believe it. Thank you MJ Summers for the ARC, I can't wait for the other books to be published.
I read this book in four days. With kids and full-time work. I can't think of a more glowing endorsement! A sweet, sexy love story about two people who are missing something in their lives and unexpectedly find it in the last place they would expect it. A must read!
I loved Break in Two, however MJ Summers out did herself! This was a sleepless night, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! I was not a fan of Luc in Break in Two, but he won me over! This is a MUST READ!
Wow! Megan and Luc were everything! I seriously couldn’t get enough of them! I love that they met in Paris. It was so beautiful to see them go through all the ups and downs until they had their happily ever after! The ending was absolutely amazing! 🇫🇷❤️
A baking of an apple pie from the time we peel and slice the apples to the adding of the flour, cinnamon with a touch of sugar, the arranging the apples in the perfect crust to slow bake in the oven makes a wonderful and slow combining treat. When it comes out of the oven we are in awe of the first touch of the apples as we consume this amazing treat.
Luc-smart, hunky businessman and French
Megan-typical normal, pretty,fresh and sassy
Megan is the typical woman that has been burned by the best in her past. She does not want a relationship or love. She has a set kind of life that she lives with her son and is set in her ways. Finding love again is not on her radar so she thinks. What happens when her heart tells her differently? Can she cherish the love or will she run like the wind from it? Can she let the man with the electric spark into her world? Will he want to come into the world of the unknown of normalcy?
Luc is a businessman true to heart. He is the epitome of a man whore. He likes to sleep with woman and then walk away never letting his feelings get involved. But what happens when he meets a woman that knows how to say NO to him? Will he think differently in his ways? If he happens to be able to get the woman into his bed will he let her go or try to keep her? Will he open his heart to this woman or just be closed off and send her on her way? Will his past dictate his future?
Luc and Megan’s journey together is one that you could say fairytales are made of. Luc struggles from not wanting to get close to a woman and Megan struggles not wanting to get close a man in fear of getting hurt. But what happens with cupid hits you with the proverbial arrow? Do they walk away even though struggles arise? Can Luc come into the normal everyday life and be the man that Megan wants him to be? Can Megan let go of her fears and let Luc love her the way she deserves to be loved? Can Megan take the chance along with her son that thinks Luc is the bee’s knees? Can this couple find the love through heartache and strength to become one? To say good bye to the past fears and forge on to the happiness that they so richly deserve? This is their journey.
To the author: This book had me from page 1 and tugged at my heartstrings till the very last page. You had me on the edge of my seat not wanting to leave this book for one moment in fear that I might miss something in the book. The suspense alone in this read was amazing and the ending phenomenal. I hope your readers enjoy this book as much as I did.
In ‘Breaking Love’ we meet single mom Megan. Megan is in her mid-thirties and is singlehandedly taking care of her 6 year old son. Megan left her husband years ago after his addiction with drugs got out of hand. Now Megan is taking care of her son, working hard to establish her own business and also taking care of the household. Megan has completely sworn of man and romance. When Megan gets invited to visit her best-friend in Paris she is thrilled with the prospect of doing something for herself. After her mom convinces her to go and have fun in Paris, Megan grabs her stuff and meets her friend in the city-of-love. Luc Chevalier is a French powerful billionaire and he is well known for being a womanizer. Luc is in his early forties and he never wanted woman to stay longer than a day. But then Luc meets Megan, and he is blown away by her kindness, beauty, stubbornness and perseverance. Megan is immediately taken away by Luc’s handsome face and French accent but she knows she has to stay away from him. But soon Megan and Luc’s life changes forever and a new adventure begins.
‘Breaking Love’ was from the beginning on a very easy book to read and to get into. Right from the very first page I felt like I knew the characters. They felt really real to me. I love books about strong independent woman and Megan definitely fits this description. Megan lives her life for her son and she does everything to make this little guy happy. From the moment I read about Megan’s past I could completely understand why she is the way she is. I felt an immediate connection with her and it made this book even better. This book is written from both Megan and Luc’s point of view. I loved that. This book was very passionate and I really enjoyed it. Especially the parts where Luc started talking French. I mean OMG… who doesn’t like the sound of a handsome man talking French.?!
The character I loved the most in this book was definitely Megan. She was just so strong and a great example for her son. Even though Megan forgets a little to live her own life she works so hard to make up for the mistakes her ex-husband made. I found her very admirable. I honestly cheered when Megan went to Paris to have some fun for herself. And the thing I love the most about this book was the passion between Megan and Luc. They both had their fears and this made them very real to me. I loved the interactions between them and their where plenty of sexy scenes.
This was definitely a nice and enjoyable read for me. A perfect book to read on the couch with a blanket and surrounded by candle light.
Looking for a hot, steamy, sexy read for the beach or back porch? How about a swoon-worthy Frenchman who is sexy as all get out, with all those moves in all the right places? What if you could travel to Paris, France to be wined, dined and seduced in one of the most romantic, if not the most romantic city in the world? Could you, when far from home, let all the freedom and passion that is buried deep within you free to be exactly what you wanted to be for one night? One night of passion, one night with a man who you would keep forever, but will take for one special, life changing night?
Interested? Then step into Megan’s shoes for a while and enjoy Luc for all he is worth – and just maybe you’ll find a love to last a lifetime.
Megan is a strong woman. She’s had to be since she is raising her son, Elliott as a single mom, has her own business to tend to and life in general to get through each and every day. Like thousands of women around the world, Megan does what is necessary and some of it gives her great satisfaction – but what about something just for her. When she has the chance to visit her best friend in Paris, France it is the opportunity to just let herself grab something that is only for her without limitations, without guilt, without thinking about the what if’s of life. Just for her, such a sweet and tempting thought.
Luc is a man who seems to have everything. Looks, wealth, and an attitude of this is me take it or leave it – plus he is sexy beyond imagination, and knows it. He has a sense of humor that allows him to almost make fun of himself, he tells the truth whether or not you want to hear it – not unkindly, but he does not mince thought, words or actions. He believes he can never settle for just one woman, one relationship, one forever – until he meets Megan. His life will change, he will change but will he also be brave enough to take what is offered – a love to last a lifetime with a woman who is perfect for him.
Megan and Luc were amazing together. I never had to stretch my imagination to see them as a couple who needed each other, or simply enjoyed each other enough to make a lifelong commitment. Getting there was the fun journey. I enjoyed Breaking Love very much and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone at all who enjoys a couple meant for each other in the midst of a sexy, steamy love story. If that describes you then pick this one up and indulge yourself.
*I received an e-ARC of Breaking Love from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
“She had books, wine, baths and BOB, her battery-operated boyfriend, to keep her company. None of them would ever leave the toilet seat up, forget to call when they were out of town or develop a serious drug problem. She had already gone years without a man, and she preferred to keep it that way.”
“The eternal optimist under the cloak of a jaded pessimist.”
My Review:
I cannot seem to decide which story to crown as my favorite - each one had elements I like and disfavor. All were well written with likeble and interesting characters, a generous amount of sensuality, and considerable emotional upheaval. I am not a big fan of angst, but I am a sucker for epic love, deliciously steamy scenes, and happy ever after endings. If you like all of those elements, you will be a happy camper with this series. Each of the two books could be read as stand-alone stories – which I totally appreciate, but the novella may put you at a bit of a loss had you not read the other two.
Thanks to Book Enthusiast Promotions, Gretz Corp. and Net Galley for allowing me to read this ebook in exchange for an honest review.
Luc Chavalier is a Frenchman, who has very specific rules that he follows in his businesses and personal life. He is very rich and happily unattached. It seems his rules will be tested by a chance meeting with Megan Sullivan, a single American mom visiting her friend in Paris. She seems to live by the same no involvement rules in her personal life after being burned by her ex drug addicted husband and she is busy trying to get her fledgling photography business off the ground while raising her son.
Besides the hero being rich and successful, the heroine is an adult woman with adult single mom problems. How refreshing that she isn't twenty and a virgin. In bed she knows what she wants and Luc awakens all her lost passions. It is a fun grown up fantasy romance that is also a realistic trip through insecurities and feelings for both characters. A very satisfying HEA romantic read.
Luc Chevalier had it all, he was money, women, and his life as a bachelor. Luc never felt like anything was missing, until he met Megan Sullivan. Initially he denies the spark, he acts on it but could it be possibly more than a few days?
Megan learned a long time ago that she would never put her heart out there again. Megan is dedicated to her life as a single mom, but when she finds herself being pursued by Luc she takes a temporary leap of faith. When Luc decides to come after her, Megan is left with wanting something that she is not sure to be true. With outside complications in their way, will they be able to survive their newly found relationship?
Unexpected delight. Luc was a fantastic hero, he is a bit unsure of himself which is completely opposite of who he is. I thought that Megan was an wonderful match to Luc, they both continue to catch each other off guard. Perfect read for a weekend.
Loved Luc and Megan's story. It's heartwarming and exciting at the same time. She definitely needed her happily ever after, after all she'd been through! And there is no better man for her than Luc!
Up to chapter 21 I was more than willing to give this book 5 stars. I was thoroughly enjoying every page of it, thinking to myself "Wow, this book is sooooo much better than the first one! The author definitely did her homework and improved her writing and style since this one is leaps and bounds ahead of the first one!". But then, the next chapters followed and it was so much drama! And totally unnecessary. Luc and Megan's story already had the right amount of conflict with . There was no need at all for the Aagh! It was all too much! So now I have to demote this book to a 4 star one, even though I loved the story. I wished the author hadn't been carried away with all the drama. Nonetheless, since this book is so much better than the first one, I can only hope that the third one will be perfect. Can't wait.
"Breaking Love" is the second book in the Full Heart series but I was assured that it can be read as a stand alone novel as well, and it's true. But after reading this hot, steamy story I will be for sure checking the first book as soon as possible.
Luke has it all. He's the owner of bars, has money, impact, cars and as many women as he wants. He's half - American but is currently living in Paris and enjoying his single life totally. But that is until he meets Megan... Megan lives in a small town in America and is a single mum to 6 - years - old Elliott. She concentrates on building her photography business and being the best mum in the world. The last thing that she has on her mind is a man, a fling, a romance or... to travel to Paris with her best friend Phoebe. But well, everybody (ie. Elliott and her own mum too) says she deserves a break and so Megan finds herself on the plane to the capital of France. And then she meets Luc... Neither of those two is ready for another person in their lives but they are both open for one hot night together... They only can't predict the consequences...
The story was full of questions: should you follow your head or heart? Should you risk your set life and your comfort for a new, uncertain relationship? Do you want to change your life totally for relationship? What are you going to do when love, that you actually aren't looking for, just comes and smacks you on your head? Can you eventually forget about your past, about being hurt, and learn how to trust anew? And while answering all this questions, the author takes us on a great journey, together with the brilliant, vivid characters, characters larger than life, characters that popped out of the pages and were so different that everybody is for sure going to find somebody to relate to. Megan was so badly hurt in the past and she doesn't want to open to another man in case he's going to hurt her again. Her and Elliott, because she must think of her little boy as well. I totally understood her to be honest, she knew exactly where her priorities are. I liked her, she was normal, easy - going and was just a great person. Through Megan the author shows also all the pros and cons of being a single mum. She subtly and sublime describes how Megan must have counted on other people when it came to the smallest things in her life related to Elliott, and how hard it was for her when her mother found herself in a hospital. I guess that some of the readers may despise Luc, as he behaved as if the whole world belong to him, but there was something in him that immediately drawn me to him. Well, he was honest, brutally honest and he said things as they were, he didn't promise anything and you knew what you get into. But. Ha! There is always a woman somewhere that is going to wrap the guy around the little finger, only sometimes she lives on the other continent. And a woman who's going to say NO to all his charms. What is he going to do in such situation? Is he, confirmed bachelor, going to lost his heart? All the other characters added so much to the story, they all had their own voices and personalities and all of them, no matter if they were Megan's family or Luc's very jealous PA Simone, were a real joy to read. What didn't work for me personally though in the story was Elliott, who was 6 going on 60. I understand that children like to speak like adults but Elliott was really overdone and you can say what you want, I haven't seen a 6 - year - old child speaking like he did. Hell, it's not so easy to meet an adult who would speak like Elliott!
I totally adored the way the relationship started and developed. Luc and Megan were two adults who knew exactly what they wanted from life and there was nothing wishy - washy to them both. One could say it was not romantic, but in my eyes it, in some ways, was. And the way it developed only shows that ha, good people, we can plan whatever we want but we can't joke with the feelings. It was fantastic to be a witness how the feelings between our two characters blossomed, no matter if they wanted it or not, and how they were slowly realising this fact. And I must say that really, this running away and then catching up did work out in this story. Although I must admit that there were moments that I wanted to grab them both and bang their heads together, as long as they eventually see sense. What other authors so often fail, MJ championed in this book: in many books this long process of will they/won't they is just too long and after some time it loses the whole appeal, but here, although Luc and Megan were all the time looking for arguments that they can't be together, (though it was Obvious that they belong together) it was not flat or boring for a second, it was all the time gripping and had you on the tips of your toes.
Altogether, the book has made a fascinating, steamy (but not too steamy), quick read. Why quick? Well, because I couldn't put it down, so engrossed was I in Megan and Luc's lives. It is a brilliant love story written with a lot of feeling and understanding, not too pushy, not too forced, everything was kept in bounds. MJ Summers can really write a hot romance with great characters in it, full of misunderstandings, twist and turns, heartbreaks and hurt but still with a lot of joy and that is a great entertainment. I have really enjoyed this book and will be keeping my eye on MJ Summers in the future.

I wanted to like this book but it lacked something. Luv and Megan have a one night stand that ends badly and things just go a bit weird for me. A guy who isn’t in for more, the last thing he should do is pursue a single mother who lives on another continent. I was surprised with Megan’s character because she was smart for the most part and was like hey this isn’t what I want and it won’t work.
The book jumps through to many POVs which honestly Simone and Ian added nothing to the story for me except to drag it on. It was okay just not for me:
Megan is a single mother perfectly content to spend her time protecting her son from untrustworthy men. Hardening her heart against the pain of trusting another man was the only option, until she met Luc. Luc is a successful businessman with no belief in love or marriage. Offering mutual pleasure is his MO. After meeting Megan, his view on life and love changes.
This is the 2nd book I have read by this author. I thought this was better than the 1st book I tried but I am still not blown away. The story was predictable, with minimal character development, and I was never engaged in the novel. I think I will pass on future books by this author.
