The story takes place in the far future, after the destruction of Arrakis.

The explorers are looking for treasures ... the story didn't quite fit to the rest of the Dune books.

Perhaps it is because of the missing context from the books 7 and 8.

Meh. A required reference to what happened to Dune after it died. But not very interesting.

This was a good little short story of an expedition for simply trying to find treasures left on Arrakis after the Honored Matres destroyed the planet.

I did not predict the plot-twist, so that deserves 4-stars.

I really do think that Frank Herbert went in an odd direction when deciding to destroy the Planet Dune. This short story was an enjoyable return to that planet.
