That’s the question Daniels has been asked many times by her guardian Sarah, but she’s managed to avoid answering thus far. While that question remains up in the air, a new question has arisen in the form of Tyler.
Tyler’s ex-girlfriend, Roxie.
No one is willing to explain why Tyler has been seen with her, not even Tyler, and Daniels starts having doubts about everything. Will Roxie step back into Tyler’s life or did she ever leave?
The McGuire brothers told her to trust them. Shouldn’t they do the same?
On top of all of that, a detective from the past shows up, and flashbacks leave Daniels uneasy. The old adage, “When the fire gets hot, jump out of the water,” rings in her ears, but will she do it?
With no driver’s license, no job, and no cash, she wants to make changes in her life, but so does another McGuire brother. While Tucker is busy casting doubts about Tyler and trying to become her constant shadow, he also is offering her a lifeline.
SPOILERS THROUGHOUT: I really liked this installment in the Faith Series. It was a major improvement from the previous books and I think that this series is finally living up to its potential. In my previous reviews, I asked for more details and for more character development. I also asked for Nikki Bolvair to make the books longer so the chapters/scenes could be longer. She gave me all of that and more in this book. I like Faith/Daniels as a character. She is caring and she tries to do the right thing. Unfortunately, she was just dealt a bad hand in life which has led her into some messed up situations. I feel like she is growing as a character and I am noticing major differences between the Faith in the first book and the Faith in this book. One thing that did make me a little a frustrated was Faith's interactions with Tucker. All of her friends and the boys have told her that he is bad news yet she continued to find herself in situations with him. I understand that he was borderline stalking her but every time he showed up, Faith should have just walked away. She continued to stay and listen to him even though she knew he was a liar. Her lapses in judgement when it came to Tucker led to the majority of the problems in the book and I was constantly shaking my head at her actions. Besides that small problem with her, I really liked her and agreed with most of her decisions. I like the boys. I wish that we got to see Faith interact with them a little more though. I am still wondering how this relationship is going to work between them all since Lincoln is considering moving to Arizona. I don't think Faith is ready for that and to be honest, I don't think she will ever be. I think she is happy where she is and because of her background, I don't think she wants to move again. I know she will move with the boys if she has to but I don't think she would be happy to do so. Overall, I did enjoyed this book. It is definitely the best installment so far. I hope that the future installments are this good and that Nikki Bolvair continues to grow in her writing. I will be continuing on with the next book and I am excited to start it.
**Again, this novel could reach 5 stars with just a bit more editing and tightening of the plot. I like the characters, though, and will read their journey to the end.
The novel gained *STARS* for these items:
* gained for: "The book caught my interest in first five pages."
* gained for: "I thought about the book when I was forced to set it down and re-enter society."
* gained for: "I was sad when the book ended. I want more!"
The novel failed to gain stars for these items:
NO STAR gained for: "There were no info dumps, poor writing, or copy edit mistakes that jerked me out of the story."
NO STAR gained for: "That's it. I'm hooked on this author I will automatically buy anything s/he writes."
I found this book slightly better than the previous two but there definitely could have been better editing and a beta read should have picked up typos and grammatical errors. Personally I would have rather seen Faith develop her relationship with Tyler, she has had no previous boyfriend and has very little example from her family but yet she is also kissing and dating Hayden and Lincoln.
Now I am engaged in Faiths story I will continue reading but possibly I would not recommend this series to friends
First things first... author should get a new editor/proof reader/arc team something. I correct while I read, so this usually isn't a problem. HOWeVER 👀, we have enough that it causes a few stutter steps in the flow of reading, and none of them are for effect. A continuing issue that persists in series. To the point I'm docking a star and a half...
On to the story... It is enjoyable could use a bit more fleshing out with characters and less filler fluff, but overall I would read the next. I won't be hunting it up, but it is a solid dip toes into poly reading.
Daniels life is getting more complicated with Tucker basically stalking her. And it seems like the guys are hiding things from her. I praised the last book for their communication skills. They’ve seriously devolved in this book putting a ton of strain on their relationship. And there’s a prank caller harassing Lincoln. Everything is escalating. She better not get kidnapped in this series…
okay I LOVED this I stayed up until 3/4 in the morning reading this series I got to book 4 before I finally crashed and now I am back at it to finish the series this one is addictive I LOVED it
This is the third book I’ve read in eight hours. They are 1000% getting better as they go! More details are shining through, filling in gaps the others lacked due to their length. Can’t wait for the next one!
I have gotten very into reading Reverse Harem novels lately. It's super hard to find decent ones that don't just read like fan fiction. This series is really good though. Both the characters and the story are fully fleshed out and well written. I'm enjoying becoming invested in this world and pleased that I discovered this author.
sadly this book was way too short for my liking, but the more I think about it.... even if the writer put all her books together as one book.. i would probably have the same opinion. they will never be long enough as they are so freaking good!!!I always need more... I could not put this book down, I found myself biting my nails, cursing at the screen, and stuffing chocolate in my face to make myself feel better. And when I finished... I wanted to throw my kindle as I needed more of those boys! I really admire Faith. she's been through so much in her short life. And she doesnt give up, never lets herself be the victim. She throws punches and stands her ground. I can not decide how I feel about Tucker... he seems nice at times and scary at other times... I'm waiting.. lol Tyler ... he had me worried at times. And totally rocked my world with his words and mouth.. oh my god. cold shower please!!! And seriously the way the boys describe things... when being romantic... or sexual rocks my world.. I don't normally screen shot books... unless I see errors or something. but I did screen shot something in this book.. Tyler says something so earth moving, and freaking epic that I fell in love with this guy a little bit too. And who would have thought trees could make me love anyone. Roxie terrified me. I have to admit I did put the book down several times, and sat and thought if I were Faith what would I do... And i would have left early on. but Faith is a fighter. she knows what she wants in certain things, and holds tight. And in other aspects... like college she's unsure. And the whole new family aspect for her. having Sarah and 'Pa' and realising how it is to be loved by them. seriously there are so many one liners in this book that i laughed at. 'flower is covered' lol And the lines that made me melt... 'our queen'.
i can not believe I was against reverse harem romance... as seriously who really wants to pick between these guys??? I sure don't.
please don't stop writing!
and I can cope with short books... means we get them quicker!!! see you soon boys!!!
I sincerely like this series. however I have read unlimited books that were equally as good and some even better. I will finish them but so far I have read them in an hour and half. They aren't long enough for the price. They need more depth.
“Home, home, home, home. Will I ever have one again? I have traveled place to place like unwanted change.”
I enjoyed Gaining Ground a lot but as usual - I expected it to be longer. I read somewhere, after I finished Brokenly Found, that the author planned on making this book longer and I was so excited but sadly it did not happen. But even though it was short, it was still great nonetheless.
In this book, Daniels' relationship with the guys faced some struggles and doubts that threatened to destroy what they had. Plus Tucker always kept appearing in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
But besides all the obstacles and uncertainty, there were some scenes that were totally worth it. Steamy ones too!
• unrealistic things that seemed dumb. the police reopened a years-old cold case without actual concrete evidence coming to light. also, they're super intense about finding and prosecuting the person who saved a child from getting killed. apparently enough to harass said child, who was one of the victims in the case.
• also, her teacher offers her a job because the h is interested in mathematics and forensic science, and the teacher wants her to get hands-on experience. and i was like oh okay so it'll be a job that's connected to that field. but then it was a job with kids at an orphanage like ??? made no sense.
• that dumb song that the h sings in her head with lyrics that don't match rhythmically at all ??
• once again, the heroine completely overreacts to that guy who's interested in her. im not saying the guy is in the right, because he's a jerk, but saying he's STALKING her is a gross exaggeration. like, he's literally just running into her by coincidence at school and by a movie theater. please calm down. by 50% he does get more intense and assholeish though but up until then it seemed super weird how the heroine talked about him.
• the conversations aren't as unnatural as in the first book, but they still have weird, stunted moments, and contrived misunderstandings that would've been solved if they could talk like regular people.
• i skimmed the last ~20%.

This book ends with a bit of a cliffhanger. UGH I need the next book to be out. I really need to start waiting until all the books are out in a series before I start to read them.
So Tucker is in this book quite a bit. He seems harmless so far, but annoying. Book number 3 is mainly about Roxie, who Daniels thinks is Tyler's ex girlfriend. This book is pretty silly, but I still love it. I love the characters, I love the writing, and I love the relationships between everyone. The cliffhanger has to do with the death of Daniels' father. No one has known what happened to Daniels' father that night, including Faith. She thought she could have even done it and blacked it out, but she would never admit that to anyone. Some new evidence comes to light about her father's murder after all of these years.
I really need this next book to come out. I am too impatient to wait!!
So far this series has been a fun read. The only thing I wish, is that the books were longer! I get excited for the book and then a little over an hour I'm done with the book and I'm sad, especially since the next book isn't out yet! :(
ARC was given in exchange for an honest review. Gaining Ground is another great entry in the Faith Series. What I really enjoyed about this book is you can really see the character development as new challenges are thrown their way. You get a peak into the boys past instead of it solely focusing on Faith this time around. Faith is a female lead you can really cheer for because she has her own mind and she doesn't just obediently follow every little thing the guys say. My only gripe is how short these books are. I think they are more considered novellas, but I would almost prefer all of these short stories be turned into a full fledged novel. However, I can get past this since I have such a good time reading about Faith and the boys! :)
The book is a nice read. Faith Iris Daniels is dating three brothers, Tyler, Lincoln and Kayden. This is a reverse harem book from a different perspective because the guys are actually brothers. This book however has her doubting. Tucker is a guy trying to get to Daniels or Rella as he calls her. He makes her belief certain things about Roxie, a girl Tyler was seen with. She also gets a job because of Tucker. But is he really that nice? Than another issue comes up with college coming and what are the plans going to be? I highly recommend this book.
I got this book from the author but I already owned book 1 and 2 and those I bought with my own money. I will still purchase this book because I wanna support the author Nikki Bolvair.
Things are starting to work out better for Daniels. She in college, has three incredibly hot guys who want to share her. But she's turning seventeen and wants a little more independence with a job, so she can have her own money and later a car. In the background messing with her happiness is new information about the night her parents died and Tucker. He's out to get Tyler with lies about a girl named Roxie. Now she's worried about maybe she shouldn't trust the guys. Sarah has seen how she acts with the boys and told her she needs to pick one. Not play them against one. She wants all three and they want her, I love this series. I was expecting something similar to another great series but no it's rates awesome on its own. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was given this book for an honest review as an ARC reader. I have read all of the books in the series And this one has me the most on edge. It gives us a better look into Daniels past but also makes us question the boys. Tucker becomes a pain in the butt and then turns out to be more than meets the eye of he if he is truthful. The ending leaves us hanging with a double nail biter but I am excited for the next book in the series and I would recommend this book and everyone so far in the series to my friends and family!!!
I am in love with this series. Daniels cracks me up. She's this innocent girl with a haunting past and yet she also knows how to stand up for herself. She's such a sweetie.
And those boys. They make me squeal with delight.
There were some editing problems but not too bad. Also, again. Short. Those were my only problems. I want more! I don't want to be finished reading after only two or so hours.
Overall, this is a great and adorable series that has me cracking up. More please!
This third book in the series filled more like a filler type of book than anything. Daniels is having issues brought back about the case against her family, and then the guys are acting strange. Add in to the fact that she has a new kind of stalker and things are very complicated.
I liked this one, but it wasn't that great. I was annoyed with the misunderstanding that happened between Daniels and the guys. That was just frustrating, but slightly funny when the truth came out.
Other than that I'm interested in finding out what happens next.
I just finished reading all three books in this series, and I'm mad I can't jump right into the next one!!! Tough no nonsense heroine, three swoon worthy brothers ,and great secondary characters. I've laughed, cried, been pissed off and turned on while reading these books. So I highly recommend them to anyone who appreciates the above statements. Happy reading!!
Tyler and Faith take things to the next level but then Tucker causes trouble, making Faith doubt Tyler. There is a surprise visit from the detective assigned to Faith’s fathers murder case (not a good visit), and Lincoln and Faith both get crank texts and calls from the same number. Faith also has a few memories surface and Zane has a BIG surprise for Raina! Can’t wait to see what comes next! **this book received in exchange for an honest opinion**
Like the two previous books in the Faith Series, Gaining Ground read more like a novella than a full length novel. Despite the quick read it was great! I love how realistic the characters are, especially Daniels. The story across the series is really taking an interesting turn; I can't wait for the next book to see what happens!
ARC was given in exchange for an honest review. I love this series but this book was my favorite of the three. There is more going on in this book and more suspense. You get a better look into the other characters as well. My only negative about the whole series is that the books aren't longer. The ending leaves you waiting for the fourth book to hurry and come out!!
