Rate this book
Dating is an intimidating adventure, especially when you're in your late twenties; half of your friends are married and having babies, and the other half are still nursing hangovers every Monday at the office. Then there's Khaley, who's kind of in-between... Nevertheless, she's determined to navigate the strange world of dating, which is made even more complicated by the fact it's all online these days. Using Tinder and Plenty of Fish, she never knows what she may possibly encounter every time she "swipes right" or hears her phone ping. Mystery, awkwardness, laughter, and heartbreak abound. What began as a personal blog to document Khaley's experiences in the proverbial (online) pond has blossomed into a book. Swipe Right is a humorous and touching tale that uniquely explores the joys and challenges of dating in the modern world. Single women (and men seeking insight into the other side) will connect deeply with her words and laugh along with her as she embarks on her perfectly imperfect journey for love. Khaley's honesty and wit will inspire readers to keep their hearts open and fingers swiping while always staying true to their own strengths and beauties....

Excellent debut! Really more 3.5 stars. I'm a harsh scorer. Most classics get 4 stars from me so this is indeed high praise. I was tempted to give this 4 stars being from Thunder Bay where the story takes place...I felt like I was on each date with the author.

I enjoyed her honesty although she kept some things close in regards to Date #2 that had me feeling a little cheated out of as the reader. It is understandable as it is a small town but had me wondering is she had used a fictional town how would this have all played out?

I also struggled with her judgment of people with poor grammar. I know quite a few people with excellent grammar that are rotten people. My husband can't spell to save his life and I challenge one to find a better man. I did not deduct stars here for that necessarily, I think this revealed her youth and at times I actually found her judgments of others endearing. It is the judgment of youth where you put value on some things in life that are completely irrelevant.

Speaking of completely irrelevant, sometimes she went down a rabbit hole of thoughts on date #2 that started to drag the flow of the book with it. She wrote about her feelings honestly and I felt everything with her...the first time. But I think she kept coming back to the same hole too often. This is nothing another editing could not fix.

Oh dear, too much negativity above for such a fun and engaging book! Talk about a page turner! I couldn't wait to read about the next date to come!

Finally, I read a lot! This is truly the best book out there on online dating. I highly recommend this for every dater out there and for those of you curious as to what that world is about. This is your online dating bible...Bravo Khaley!
