Rate this book
The power to move objects with their minds lies dormant inside all perceivers, but they must face death to unlock it, in Mind Evolution, the thrilling novel about young people with special powers.
Michael, working with the police in London, looks into the minds of businessmen driven crazy to the point of suicide. Drugs found in their belongings suggest an addiction raging out of control, but Michael discovers the people supplying them want more than drugs money: they want information.
Using their ability to read minds and sense emotions, Michael and his perceiver friends get drawn deeper into a conspiracy that goes beyond the criminal world. To find the truth, they must track down the mastermind who wants to manipulate perceiver powers for his own ends. But even their new power of telekinesis may not be enough to defeat him.

The Perceiver Programme is up and running in England, and while Michael, Pauline, and Alex are finally getting used to their new-found powers of mind control, and have even begun experimenting with telekinesis (something Michael recently realized he is capable of), there have been several odd, mystery-drug-related deaths among the non-perceiver population. When Michael and Detective Patterson are called in to investigate, a strange turn points them in the direction of Sarah, Alex's new mysterious perceiver girlfriend. But how is Sarah involved, and what does this all have to do with the vials of clear liquid the crazy people were injecting into their arms? Can Michael, Pauline, and Alex get to the bottom of this mess before Sarah becomes nothing more than a guinea pig for the evil Doctor Lucas and his illegal Russian perceiver experiments?

Once again, Jane Killick does not disappoint with her telepathic teen drama. Right from the get-go I was sucked back into the world of Michael, Pauline, and Alex at Galen House. It felt a bit like coming home to a bunch of old friends (friends with crazy mind powers and telekinesis, but friends, nonetheless!).

Mind Evolution is steeped in drama, with so many twists and turns in the plot that I couldn't guess from one page to the next what was about to happen next! An excellent and fast-paced read, I would highly recommend this book (and its predecessors!) to anyone who is into YA, Sci-Fi, Drama, and pretty much anything with a little bit of mystery in it and a whole lot of action!

The latest installment in this series is just as grabbing and enthralling as the first book. So many series start great but start lagging and cannot continue the story line at the same high level. Not Jane Killick. Her series of Perceivers started out the gate fast and furious and gripping in it's story about young adults trying to figure out how they fit into a new world of perceivers. Her second brought in new characters, filled in blanks in the history of the characters, and continued to build the story into something that you cannot put down or stop reading. By Evolution, book 3, the characters, story lines, and my love of this series are unstoppable. This story line is not just believable, it's acceptable. Ms. Killick writes so clearly and fully that every bit of the fiction makes sense and you believe it's real. Your emotions are all over as you read - happy, afraid, sad, and by the end sympathetic with the characters and their new situations. Yes, there is a cliffhanger at the end, but it feels natural and yet I'm holding my breath for book 4! I have found at the end of the 3rd book in the series I'm not bored with the story, not numb to the characters. If anything I'm excited to see where the next book goes, I care about the characters and cannot wait to see what happens next.

What do you do when someone is passing a drug around that drives people mad. Yet it isn't what it seems and the one man they thought disappeared has made an appearance. Stopping him is the key. The price may be too high this time, not that the higher ups care one way or another. In a race to save one of their own an save and and innocent things become out of hand. No one may make it out this time. What lengths will they go to get out alive, if they can? It's a race to save lives, help the living and find the nutty professor before he can destroy more lives. Suspenseful, heartbreaking, adventurous, dangerous situations. A great read that pulls you in to the drama as you read it and the story unfolds. If you haven't read the first two, I highly recommended them all in this series.
Could not put it down. So entranced as to what unfolded and hoping for the best. So glad I started reading this series, now awaiting for the next adventure.

Book three in the Perceivers series begins with Michael working for the police as a perceiver under the watchful eye of Patterson. Michael’s skills in the department make for good progress but pretty soon he has to go above and beyond the call of duty to crack the case. Meanwhile, back at base Pauline and Michael try to ignore Alex’s new girlfriend, but the girl quickly becomes a key player in the case.
Mind Evolution is much darker than the previous two books in the series. Michael is now eighteen, more confident in his abilities and driven by the desire to do the right thing. With Agent Cooper still breathing down his neck, expecting results Michael is pushed into more and more dangerous situations. The book is fast-paced and full of suspense, and the author manages to hit the right balance between delicate teenage characters and adult themes.
The writing itself is clear and straight forward and this is not standard in the science fiction genre. It is easy to read without concepts or language that trip you up. I must admit, that the books in this series are un-put-down-able.
