Any time I review a Christmas book focused on the birth of Jesus, I typically mention that I don't celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus. (Like I'm mentioning now.) I just don't agree with it. I don't mention that to be a pain. (Surprised?) ;) I do it to open those minds like mine to books like this. They don't have to be used in the targeted way. Cross out a few words to make you more comfortable, and there's much learning to be had from "Christmas" books.

This coloring book is meant to be used in the month of December. There are 31 devotionals and they each get a coloring page. If I were using this as a daily devotional, and hoping to get a page colored each day, I'd be greatly disappointed. Thankfully, with my beliefs, I can use it all year long without any problem. I color slowly, and it's a time of relaxation and fun for me. I'd feel rushed and more stressed if I hoped to get an entire page done each day.

The coloring pages are nice. They're both complicated and simple at the same time. The designs are very simple, but there's tons of little shapes within each design. You can color as intricately or as basic as you choose, though. The devotionals are also nice and simple, and I enjoyed them. There were some things said that I especially needed to hear, as my battle with social anxiety was at an all time high.

"Sometimes we wonder why we aren't happy, why we make sinful choices, why we feel distant from God. Often it's because we have small thoughts about God and magnified thoughts of ourselves, our wants, our rights, our accomplishments. Mary, the one God chose to be the mother of his Son, could have easily allowed her thoughts of herself to become larger, even prideful. But instead of magnifying herself, she magnified the Lord."

I always need to remember that life isn't about me!

In the back of the coloring book are some discussion questions to use with your family, along with some Bible verses and sample prayers. Extra coloring pages are also in the back and they're much simpler and family friendly, though still well decorated.

I've really enjoyed this coloring book, both for the devotionals and coloring pages, even though I'm a bit outside of the target audience.

ALL IS BRIGHT is a devotional journey to color your way to Christmas. This devotion/coloring book is set up a little different. There isn't a verse at the top, nor a prayer at the bottom. Instead, it is all straight-devotional. Read and reflect on the story of the birth of our Savior in a way you probably never have before.

I know my family will use this devotional as we prepare for the upcoming holiday season. It will be a great use in our family devotions each day, and coloring the pictures will be a fun activity for the family to have sitting out on the coffee table with a set of coloring pictures for anyone to color the picture as they have time or inspiration. It will be a sure keepsake for Christmases to come.

If you are looking for a Christmas devotional, or one to give to a friend, to get your mind on the upcoming holiday season and not on material things, then take a look at ALL IS BRIGHT. Great for shut-ins, nursing homes, parents, grandparents, couples, singles, and as gifts.

All is Bright is a really nice combination of Christmas devotional and adult coloring book. My teenage daughter and I have found many illustrations that we enjoy and we are both looking forward to working through the devotional with our family this Christmas.

The quality is nice and the pages feel sturdy. I like how each devotion has a coloring page to go along with it. Also, at the back of the book are coloring pages that are geared for younger members of the family. I plan to let my younger daughters color on these pages as part of their Christmas devotional activities.

Overall, this is a nice combination of creativity and passages to aid in reflection on the many joys of the Christmas season.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I know, I know, it’s been a while since you’ve seen a book review from me! The reading has calmed down as I’ve dived more into homeschooling and running around with a baby. Oh, wait, you missed that? Well, she’s just over seven months old now, my fourth child and third baby girl. The others are doing great and we’re addicted to adult coloring books! My eight and six year old girls are truly coming into learning patience and calming techniques with the privilege of being able to use Mama’s coloring books. 😉

All is Bright by Nancy Guthrie is one of my favorite seasonal books and I’m delighted to pull it out again this year, and I’m sure I will be continuing to work in it for years to come. The pages are double sided and this is the seemingly standard square shape for these type of coloring books. The pages are durable for multiple times to come back to again and again and with the mediums we have used so far they are doing well. We have used Sharpie fine tip markers (slight bleed through) and Micron pens and Micro-line pens both with no bleed through or issue. Our Prismacolor Scholars colors pencils work well also. Even my Enginerd enjoyed sitting down to work on this one a bit with the rest of the family and I’ll tell you THAT is a memory I will treasure.

There are a plethora of whimsy and beautiful designs in this book and I wouldn’t hesitate to look for another coloring book from the Tyndale Momentum line.

This is a lovely coloring and activity book from Tyndale Publishing House. Perfect for the Christmas season. The cover is a nice heavy card-stock and the pages are fairly heavyweight. I used crayons for the picture I colored and they colored on smoothly. I should have used colored pencils to see if I could get a deeper color because the page ended up looking a little washed out.

I loved that there is a page with a devotional and a coloring page for each day of the month. That would be a neat thing to do with your kids for the month of December. Also loved the extra coloring pages and activities at the back of the book geared more for kids. There's even one where you can color Christmas balls and cut them out. The only problem I have with that is that the designs are on back and front so if you cut the balls out you are cutting up the picture on the other side of the page. I feel like the activities in the back should have been on a single page and probably perforated for easy removal.

I also tried out my gel pens on another page and was pleased that the color did not appear to bleed through. You can see a little bit of the impression on the other side of the page but it's not bad at all.

All in all, this would be a great treat for the Christmas holidays!

What a glorious Christmas colouring book this is! The text takes you through the Bible sotry and has tips for Bible discussions and prayers ... the colouring pictures are of a high quality and could be done both by an adult and a child. As for me, I #collage the lot, even the cover: https://www.instagram.com/bluewavewor... for a Christmas card!

All Is Bright: A Devotional Journey to Color Your Way to Christmas is a great book to use during the Advent season whether alone or with the family! It features glossy gold stars that shine on the cover that welcomes one in. The devotional content in this book focuses fully on the birth of Christ starting with God's promise for a Saviour and ending with Paul's message of pressing on into the future. This devotional runs not just through the Christmas season but from December 1st to December 31st.

The devotions are in order of the days of the month. Each devotional has a title and scripture throughout. The page the devotion is on has a border which can be colored and on the accompanying page there's a coloring page that ties into what was read. The pages are nice and thick so even ink markers or gel pens could be used to color. I prefer colored pencils but it's certainly nice to be able to use a variety of art mediums if desired. The pages features aren't blank on the back so I would take that into consideration if opting to use something like watercolor or sharpies. Very fine tipped supplies aren't needed as the illustrations have larger enough spaces for well-sharpened pencils.

Aside from the devotionals and the corresponding coloring pages, there's an entire section in the back of the book filled with activities, conversation starters, and coloring pages for the entire family. In having this content included, I feel this book is best suited for those with children. The conversation starters all start with scripture, have questions pertaining to the holiday, and a prayer to pray. These can be done nightly leading up to Christmas or whenever one has the time to do them. I love there are coloring pages that feature bookmarks, ornaments, and so on that can be colored by my children and used to decorate around are home or gift to loved ones and friends. When my kids see me coloring they want to color one in my books often so this books works out well for that very purpose!

During a time of the year when it's often about self aside from others, this book serves as wonderful reminder of what we really should be celebrating and who we should be worshipping. The devotions are wonderful and offer quiet reflections when it seems that minds are running restless and at full speed. The illustrations are great! I would most certainly recommend this book for families.

Adult coloring books are all the rage right now! So many of them are fabulous. After experimenting with All is Bright: A Devotional Journey to Color Your Way to Christmas, I’m hooked!

If you’re looking for an Advent to do this Christmas season, you’ll want to check this one out. It’s perfect for both individual use or to do with your family. It’s kid-friendly. There is a short devotional to help you focus on Jesus Christ during the chaos season of Christmas along with a coloring page for each day of the month of December. The content of this devotional focuses on the birth of Jesus Christ starting with God’s promise for a Saviour and ending with Paul’s message of pressing on into the future.

img_20160921_205503 img_20161109_122830
These are just a sample of what some of the pages look like.

Each day, beginning with December 1st, is a short devotional with a title and scripture with a coloring page on the other side. Unlike most advents, this doesn’t finish on Christmas Day. This goes until December 31st so you have an entire month.

I used colored pencils in the pictures above, but markers, water colors, or whatever you prefer to use should work. I did experiment with markers and was impressed that they didn’t bleed through the pages. Even though the pages are thick, there aren’t any blank pages so that would be something to take into consideration if using markers or sharpies.

The back section is full of conversation starters and prayers that focus on worship. These are perfect to do with your kids or as a Bible study group. There are also tons of simple coloring pages that kids would love to color and use to decorate. There are ornaments and bookmarks to color and cut out.

I had so much fun coloring these and I can’t wait to really use the book for my own personal use this December. During a busy time of the year, this is a great way to spend time with God and to worship Him.

It doesn't take much to get me into the Christmas spirit. And you certainly do not need to twist my arm to get me to color. A devotional that combines these two things I enjoy? Sign me up! I was so excited when I saw this as an option for my Christmas devotions this year, and couldn't wait to take a peek at it. My daughter and I have been coloring together, when time permits, and I knew this would be a great way for us to connect over the Christmas season.

First, I just need to say, I love the coloring pages. Now, please know ahead of time if you are not into attention to detail, maybe you just want to concentrate on the devotional part. The spaces to color in are not big, and I would recommend using colored pencils and not crayons. But if you take your time and slowly fill in the spaces, the images will come to life in a beautiful way. And, for the record, there are some pictures to color in the back that are a little bigger!

Most Christmas related devotions I have seen only take you to December 25th. This devotional is for the entire month, and I love that because in my house Christmas doesn't stop on the 25th. We still enjoy things after them, and I am thrilled that this devotional can be added to our fun. Also included is a "conversation starter" portion, near the back, before the big coloring pages. It is meant to give some further discussion to your children about Christ, Christmas and what it is all about. I think I just may take advantage of these in my youth group class as well.

I really like this devotional because it allows me to connect in a multitude of ways. I hope you will pick up your copy and use it to create a new Christmas tradition in your family this year! I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

If you love to color or are wanting a way to relax, then I would recommend this book. Each coloring page has a devotional to go along with each picture. My complaint about the devotionals is the version of the Bible that was used. I only use the King James Bible and had I known that this used other versions I would not have read the book. The coloring pages vary in range from easy to difficult, so some of them may be difficult for younger children.

I was so thrilled to receive a Christmas coloring book to review! But this book has truly exceeded my expectations.

All Is Bright: A Devotional Journey to Color Your Way to Christmasis not just a coloring book, it is also an Advent devotional. I have already read through most of the devotions, and they are excellent! Each devotion focuses on different aspects of Christ's birth, and is biblically based. I am going to go through it again in December this year and us the coordinated coloring pages to have a little quiet time to focus on Jesus birth!

I really love each of the illustrations in this book. As far as coloring goes, they are just unique and detailed enough to be challenging, but not so detailed that I lose a little bit of my sanity. I don't know that I'll get through one of these gorgeous pages each day (I'm a slow colorer), but I will read through the devotions and enjoy a little coloring time while focusing on God's gift to us in sending Jesus to save us. This is the personal Advent tradition that I am really looking forward to this year!

And another plus to this book - in the back is a section with Christmas coloring pages for kids, Bible verses, and family discussion questions! I love that while this book is a great tool for moms to personally focus on Advent, it also has sections to encourage us to include our kids as well. I can't wait to get some printed up for the kids!

Note: I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for a review. This is my honest opinion.

All Is Bright is an advent-coloring book from Tyndale’s Living Expressions collection (I have several of these books, and love them all.) Being a creative soul, I enjoy integrating inventive designs with spiritual devotions and activities. Coloring is not only fun and relaxing, but (in this case) puts us in a spiritual mind and heart.

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, and this Christian-themed coloring book (approximately 10”x9”) contains inspiring devotions and illustrations celebrating the gift of Christmas and its true meaning.)

“All Is Bright provides a short reading for every day in the month of December, as well as a beautiful accompanying coloring page, taking you on a creative journey of identifying with the distant longings of Israel, listening for the angel’s announcement, and gazing at the Baby in the manger.” ~Excerpt from the introduction.

The craftsmanship of this paperback book is sturdy, and the pages don’t bleed through when coloring with a gel pen. It is filled with full-page devotions, pretty designs, verses, and a family activity section in the back with discussion starters and prayers.

It is amazing all of the unique an interesting spins on coloring books that are happening now that the adult coloring book craze is in full swing. You come up with an idea for one, and it just might be out there. Well, this particular book combines a month long devotional with a coloring book– and it is themed for Christmas.

The devotionals in the book, are short quick reads that help us to focus our hearts and minds on God and what Christmas really means. When you open the book up, the devotion is printed on the left (with a border to color) and the right side of the book is a page to color that goes along with the message. There’s a page here for each day of December.

Plus, for those of you with families (particularly with younger children), there is a whole second half of the book. There are a dozen of mini-devotions to do with your families. They have a verse, a few questions for discussions and then a suggested prayer. And after that, the rest of the pages are children friendly coloring pages (they don’t have the same tiny details and patterns that the adult coloring books have).

I love this book for the idea of it and the variety in the pages. I haven’t colored in it yet (waiting for December 1), but the pages feel thick and heavy so I don’t expect to have problems with my coloring tools of choice.

This book is thirty-one devotionals for families that all tie into Christmas and the season of giving. Each page has a devotional on one side that is scripture based, while the opposite side is a coloring page that fits with the devotional. Most of the designs are intricate and are along the lines of an adult coloring book. At the back of the book are some coloring pages for younger children that are more simple. There are also several pages of activities for the family to do together and some conversation starters that fit with the theme. With each of the discussion starters, there is a scripture and a prayer.

I loved this book. It was designed for families of all ages and my children can't wait to get started in a couple of weeks. I read through the devotions and think that the author did a great job of writing for adults with children in mind. Some of them are a little simplistic for me, but have some adult thoughts woven in. My only complaint would be that the pages aren't perforated so I can't tear out a page for each of the children to color. They'll have to wait and I thought it would be fun to have them color while I read and then we utilize the conversation starters.

All is Bright
Written by Nancy Guthrie
Illustrations by Lizzie Preston

Coloring has become the new activity of choice, but whether you are a new colorer or one who has never given up a favorite childhood activity All is Bright is the perfect addition to this year's holiday celebrations.

All is Bright can become a part of your Christmas family devotion time or a perfect way to celebrate the season on your own. All is Bright will take you from December 1 through the 31. There is a devotional study with the facing page one that can be colored and it corresponds to the day's devotion.

After the the 31 daily devotions there are 12 conversation starters with a Bible selection to read with questions to discuss the verse and a prayer. There are additional coloring pages that follow.

The pages are 9-3/4" x 9-3/4" and paper is a heavier weight and should take most coloring mediums with no fear of bleeding. I'm personally a fan of coloring pencils and pastels and these work well with these books. Perfect for almost any age, this would make an excellent gift.

Tyndale House Publishers provided me with a complimentary review copy of this book with no expectations of a positive review ~ all opinions expressed are my own.

I received a copy from the publisher.

All is Bright features a daily devotional with coloring page for the entire month of December. The devotional is a single page. The coloring page is on the other side of the 2-page spread. The pages are not perforated for removal. Plus, the next devotional is on the back of the coloring page. The pages are nice and thick like a light-weight cardstock. In general, the coloring pages are detailed, but not overly detailed. These devotionals and coloring pages are geared towards adults or teens, but they would be fine for the entire family.

The book also includes 12 family activities which included a verse, discussion starters, and prayer followed by 12 coloring pages/crafts that can be used with the activity pages. Once again, these are not perforated, so you’ll have to rip or cut out the pages. It would have been nice if these pages were easily removed. The coloring pages/activities are more simple and easier to color. They are geared towards children, but they would be fun for all ages.

I LOVE Christmas! And I LOVE coloring books! What better way to celebrate the season than by coloring a Christmas book? Beginning on December 1 this devotion will carry you through Christmas to New Year's Eve. Each devotion is only one page long and the opposite page is a full picture to color in. The perfect way to relax and express creativity while keeping Christ at the focus of Christmas. Filled with beautiful pictures of angels, nativity scenes, stars, winter, scripture, and patterns. At the end of the book there are Family Activities. Verses and conversation starters and prayer, to discuss Christmas as a family and keep or sights on Jesus in the middle of a busy season. Extra coloring pages are included at the end of the book as well. A beautiful way to bring the story of Christmas into our daily routine. If you enjoy coloring books, this is the perfect one to begin your holidays.

I was happy to find "All is Bright" it's a 31 day devotional journey to color your way to Christmas. It has a beautiful cover and the devotional pages are very well written. I enjoyed the way it just talked to me, it was easy to read and easy to understand.. This will be a wonderful way to relax during the Christmas season and read about the story of Christ's coming. The coloring pages are beautifully done and so.. well adult Christmasy!! There is even a section at the back with some fun family activities to enjoy. I know I can enjoy reading and coloring this beautiful book any time of the year and I will be certainly be pulling it out every December to once again enjoy reading the devotions. I was gifted a copy by Tyndale Publishing to read and review. This is a book I would buy for myself or as a gift.

I'm all about coloring books. I also happen to be ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS. Honestly, though, after I received a coloring book/devotional/journal, this was just....mundane. A sort of been there-done that kind of book. The pictures were fun to color and look nice on refrigerators. You can use pencil, pen, or marker on the pages but I haven't experimented with water colors yet.

A lovely gift for someone who likes god and Christmas and coloring.

But...I'm really frustrated because it's just not special. There is nothing defining about this that would make me say 'get this one, not that one' because it's exactly the same as any other coloring book.

For eleven dollars, it's fine. Good, even. Just don't go blowing your bank account on it.

I love everything Christmas and this coloring book looked like a fun idea. Once you open the book you see a devotional/story on one side and a coloring page on the other. While I like many of the pictures, some I didn’t really love. Compared to other coloring books this one is very detailed as you would expect. Some of the pages were a tad too detailed for me. But I know many people who would love all of the detail so to each their own.
For a Biblical adult coloring book this is one you might enjoy.

Lovely daily family advent devotional that doesn't just stop at Christmas Eve, but takes us all the way to December 31, including a look at Jesus' 2nd coming, and the significance of starting a new year. Because let's face it, interacting with the Christmas season as a family means conversations before, during, and after the culmination of Christmas Day.

I appreciated some fresh insights author Nancy Guthrie brought to the devotions. And if we were more of a "coloring family," we would have enjoyed decorating the book, but alas, the beautiful illustrations remain black & white (maybe for a subsequent owner to enjoy!)

All Is Bright: A Devotional Journey to Color Your Way to Christmas by Nancy Guthrie and Lizzie Preston is a very relaxing coloring book. Each page has a good thickness that prevents color bleed through from color pencils and pens. It helps to remind the user what the true meaning of Christmas and the holiday season are which is thanks and worship. Each page is unique from the other and each has its own message to impart to the user. This is the perfect Christmas gift for an adult or young adult who enjoys adult coloring books.

This is a wonderful devotional coloring book. It counts down the entire month of December and gives you an enlightening view of what the season is all about. :-) Plus, this book has a really cool children's Q and A section along with with some of their own coloring pages and crafts. It has thick pages and could withstand markers or sharpies.

This would make a great gift for the up coming holidays!

I must mention I received this book as a review copy through the publisher. It was worth it. :-) Loved it!

*My Thoughts*
I love coloring. Like, a lot. So when Tyndale announced this tour, I jumped on it!

This book is so much more than just a coloring book. Filled with stunning cardstock pages of drawings to color, All is Bright also features a daily devotional for the month of December, and family activities at the back of the book.

The well written devotionals and the family activities make it a wonderful winter night project. I love it!

Y'all, This is the nicest adult coloring book I've ever seen! Adding an advent devotional & it knocks it out of the park. This is so nice, I'd consider it to be an amazing gift for someone at any time of the year, not just around Christmas time. The daily devotional is very well thought out, inviting you to really meditate on God's word. You can also do this as a family!
