I am a poetess and goddess (self-proclaimed and ordained). My creative breath flows in the pages of the wonderful books I read, as I love to admire the craft of others. I also have been blessed with the opportunity to pen a few myself. I am in love with all things involving the written language from grammar, mechanics, diction, and origin. I hunger to learn new words and structures of poetry and prose. I have recently begun delving in flash fiction and am struggling with finishing a full length novel. I have written for as long as I can remember, books are my friends and at one point they were my only friends. I was so severely introverted, and if not for loving, caring friends that helped me grow in social spheres I would still be alone, not lonely. One of my proudest days as a child was the day I received my first library card, I was ecstatic. As an adult I went to University for my Bachelors with a major in English and a minor in History. I have been teaching high school English for almost ten years, and am recently published. As an indie author I survive on the love of readers and sincere reviews. If you've taken the time to read the entirety of this biography section, please feel free to send me a message.
I read this book in half an hour. It would have been less if my toddlers were asleep haha.
Each poem is deliciously short. Short with a poignant end that made me gasp a little. A story resides in each WORD. I don't know how the Author does it, but she described basic human emotion and situations with such color and heart. You can't NOT relate to these writings.
There's also something caught in time about the structure of the poems. They rival a depth that Shakespeare had. It's the obvious that hides in the end, I sometimes re-read one to feel chills about the riddle in the story.
I can't wait to see what's next from this Author. She's spoken to my soul and I hear her voice on the page. I even read many of them to my mother and she's a heavy poetry critic. She LOVED them.
Each page filled with the heart of this author and she pulls you in, witnessing the heartache felt, vibrating through your soul. To understand the feelings that have no words, she will bring you to your knees, by relating her experience because she has been through the suffering, and now healing with every word she shares. This book went by so fast that I cannot wait for the next, so I've read it over and over and know that it has more meaning each time.
The writing was great and some people will really connect with these poems. I only liked a few, the rest were a little too dark for me. I generally like really happy poems. However I would like to state again that the work is great just not my cup of tea. I would encourage anyone who likes poetry to give it a try.
