The biggest concert event in the world is underway, and a different kind of music is waking the dead. Michael has finally achieved his dream of becoming a famous rock guitarist with the band Visionary. The biggest concert event in the world looks like it will be a success, but jealous rivals would do anything to destroy it. With terrorist threats and Richard's growing power, Hell is ascending to the Aran Islands in the final installment of Tir-na-nóg.
Desire was just a warm up act compared to Visionary. This book is suspenseful, fast-paced, and most importantly scary! I honestly cringed at some of the gore but then laughed aloud at Darkfield's unique sense of humor. The characters develop in unpredictable ways throughout the two books. Some characters become more courageous and noble; others become more evil and deranged. I really appreciate the roles that women played in this second book. Often times, writers struggle to create women with diverse personalities and end up with bland "good" women only. Darkfield, on the other hand, creates a truly diverse cast of people for his story. This one is well worth reading!
This book is set on the day of the great concert as a follow on of Desire. Again the formal prose helps to make this a very disturbing story. Horrifically gory at times, the use of Celtic legend, music and the supernatural make this an enthralling book to read. It is almost impossible to guess the direction that Mr Darkfield will turn with each chapter, as he stalks towards a heart thumping climax. These books have fascinated me from the start, try are so unlike anything else I have read.
