Picked this up straight after reading State of Emergency. Enjoyed the third book in the series, which has a very fast pace and Vincent's usual strong plot and likeable characters. Recommended.

This was an exciting thriller dealing with the US attempt to broker a Middle East peace and then deal with those who will do anything to stop the peace process. Our hero, Jack Emery, is a likeable protagonist, and we want him to succeed. The plot is far-fetched, but still within the bounds of plausibility. What is not reasonable, however, is that Jack, an Australian, has become best friends with the American President and becomes the President's emissary in dealing with other heads of state - sure, it makes the novel work, but it would never happen in real life! I enjoyed reading this book and it taught me some new things about Palestine and Israel, even if the wild and crazy plot was way over the top. I would read more by this author.

For being the last on the series for Jack, it was very action packed I have to admit that, there were parts that I suspected everyone because at some point everyone had a part in the big picture in a way.

I have to admit Jack for being a reporter was very resourceful he made me think maybe he ran some kind of mafia in the side or something, He had too much help everywhere and too many contacts, dunno if in real life reporters are actually like that.

One thing that I still like about this ones are the fun I have every time I heard one, the situations they get in sounds so unreal but real at the same time, it's something like it could have happened at some point, will we ever know?

A good read or listen if you're looking into something cool and fun to unwind a little.

Good

He grabbed his bipod and his rifle, gasping as if burned, before he cuddled his treasure to lie prone on the ground. Deeper breaths escaped his lips as he looked through his new $ 2,000 scope. The highway lay within range, just four hundred yards away. The brush provided perfect cover for his car and him. His target would be unmistakable—an old blue Ford truck, speckled with Bondo, pulling a flatbed. A scheduled drop would make the task easy. Purvis—too sloppy, too addicted, too stupid to be valuable . . . anymore. Nestling into a spot, the hit man grinned and sighted his gun on the highway in full view.

Zionists intend to use nuclear weapons to destroy the world to stop a peace agreement between Israel and Palestine. I was gifted this from the author.

The third book in the Jack Emery series of thrillers from Melbourne based author Steve P. Vincent, NATIONS DIVIDED picks up the ongoing storyline of a special agent that's happier than he's been in a long time. Because nobody has tried to shoot him or blow him up for years, and despite his reservations, he's rather liking his job as Special Advisor to the President of the United States.

The President's term is coming towards an end, and with elections looming, the administration is keen for a big win on the board, and what bigger achievement than a peace accord between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Needless to say their efforts are thwarted from deep within Israeli territory when a shadowing and ruthless group of hard-liners invoke the Samson Option. A long time in the dark, secret plan that will stop any attempts at a peace agreement regardless of the costs.

As is usual in this series, we're talking big big threat and one man to save the world stuff. In order to keep the credibility of that sort of scenario going then the pace is kept at an extreme level, and the personal threat as immediate as the potential of worldwide threat. The shadowy nature of the plotters at the heart of the Samson Option are cleverly constructed and there's not a lot of time to take a breath and think as everything belts towards the finale of the novel at hell for leather pace.

If you've been fortunate enough to read the earlier novels (and a novella) then Emery's ability to withstand a heap of physical punishment and more than a bit of emotional battering will be well known to you. If you haven't then what you have here is the classic thriller hero. At the same time you've got an interesting mix of the unbelievable, over the top, cue the "Hidden Camera" moment type of plot that keeps the threats coming to everyone from all directions. Whilst it could be that in this outing the plot is slightly less on the believable side than in the earlier novels, you're probably not going to notice that until the final page is completed and a little breathlessness resolved.

The thing I like about this series in particular is that it is big scenario, American style thrillers with a central Australian character who is just a bit different from the rest of them. He remains quintessentially Australian in attitude, and approach. If you've not read the earlier books then there's no reason why you couldn't start with NATIONS DIVIDED, but you'll then probably want to go back to the start anyway.

It is a long time since I awarded five stars to a book, but this one has thoroughly deserved it by looking at the Israeli / Palestinian conflict from a different angle, it is one I think is ignored too often. Jack Emery an advisor to the U.S. President has been central to efforts by U.S. to develop a peace agreement in the area. Just as the agreement is reached, a terrorist organisation threatens to derail it before the countdown to peace reaches zero. Jack is tasked to resolve all the issues before the world descends into nuclear meltdown as well as tending to his own love issues. This a great book full of fast paced thrilling action which makes it a compelling read. Steve P Vincent has done an excellent job on this third outing for Jack Emery and I will be backtracking and picking up the first two.

What a great read!
There were several times the logical part of my brain was trying to tell me how unlikely some of the plot could be, but the rest of my brain was telling it to shut up and enjoy the read!
Jack, who is now a special advisor to the US President (despite being an Aussie), is tasked with preventing all out nuclear war, as the peace process in the Middle East seems to be settling down. Hard line Israelis do not want Palestine to exist and will stop at nothing to prevent it's statehood.

A great read, and maybe we will see more of Jack??? (hint hint Steve P Vincent).

I thoroughly recommend the whole Jack Emery series. Top work!

Excellent read. This is the first book of Steve Vincent's that I have read, and I really enjoyed it. It kept me interested from start to finish. You can't help but like Jack Emery as a character. I like it when an Author touches on the private lives of the characters, it's a good way for the readers to remember them and want to read more. The books flows well, and is well written.

An awesome, action packed and thrilling read that left me gasping as Emery raced to save the world. Love the idea of an ordinary guy pushed into doing extraordinary things. I was on the edge of my seat as obstacle after obstacle was thrown in his path, and the end when it came did not disappoint. Can't wait for the next installment in this fantastic series.

Nations Divided is a great novel with events and background that could be pulled right off of the evening news. While I think the peace deal portrayed in the book is very optimistic, the author certainly does a fantastic job in portraying both sides; the supporters and detractors. Well worth the read if you are looking for a geopolitical thriller.

Nukes, Spies Peace.

The third in this series puts Jack Emery centre stage trying to put the skids to Zionist zealots. He's on the clock. Steve Vincent delivers a well crafted action thriller. A new fave.

Israel, Palestine a peace agreement has been signed with America's help. All the negotiators are now dead assassinated . A Zionist group with deep assets inside of America and British government are threatening nuclear strikes if the peace agreement succeeds. This is a highly suspenseful, and magnificent read. My highest recommendation!
