John is a handsome, caring and respectful firefighter attracted to a beautiful redheaded lawyer named Caroline, the woman of his dreams. He likes Patty, a cute and bubbly brunette, but just as friends. Even though Caroline is gorgeous, are her looks deceiving? Is Patty better for John?

I think this book was very aptly named as John seems to be blinded by Caroline's hotness. In this book Caroline is pretty much a self-serving b*tch. Despite one disastrous date, John invited her to come live with him when her house burns down. He is looking for more than just sex and she claims to be too (a complete lie). John is a sexy firefighter, but he doesn't make enough money for Caroline's taste. So she plans to use him or the sex until she gets bored. Needless to say, she currently has him fooled. Then there is Patty, who seems like a sweet girl. She makes a modest living as a grocery store cashier and seems like the kind of person that truly cares about others, similar to John, who is a sweet man himself. So, the big question ends up being, what happens next? Does John stay with Caroline? Does Caroline learn some humility? Or maybe John ends up with Penny? Heck, maybe they have a threesome? At this point, it seems that only time will tell. The book has a HFN ending and does end with a cliffhanger. This is not meant to be read as a standalone. I am excited to see what happens next in Blinded by the Blaze: Book 2.
Title: Blinded by the Blaze #1 Author: Piper Presley Genre: Romance Format: Ebook Pages: 41 Rating: 4
Main Characters: John, Caroline, Patty
Summary: John, a firefighter, is looking to settle down. He meets a hot woman, Caroline, at the bar and wants to get to know her. He also becomes friends with one of the employees at the local supermarket that he frequents, Patty.
Thoughts: I hope John doesn’t get with Caroline, she seems like a high maintenance, much too picky type. I’m curious as to what’s gonna happen.

Authors can pull you into liking some characters or hating others. I Loved John's character. But i hate Carolyn's character. I loved Patty's character. With that said. Now let me rant. Oh my goodness "Wake up John" can't you see who you should really be with. Okay got that out of my system. I know this is the first part and it pulled me in to hating and to liking certain characters. I really hate Carolyn and hope the blinders come off. Or she can change her stripes, but even if she does now I hate her. That is how good the author wrote her character for me to hate her. Let's talk about the nice and lovable Patty the author made me like right off the bat. They both have so much in common. I really hope these two characters get together. I felt their chemistry click and see that they could be way more than just friends. Carolyn, I don't see or believe she could change her stripes that fast for me to ever like her. The authors great writing got me to like and hate characters. Plus has me curious and stuck wanting to know more. Thank you for letting me read a part of the series and hope to read more.
This is a little too short to have much to write in a review. Carolyn seems conniving and selfish aka mean and John seems to be a nice guy but he is just way too gullible. Patty seems nice but I haven't quite figured her out either.
I have mixed feeling for Blinded by the Blaze Book 1. John who is a firefighter see Carolyn at a bar and wants to get to know her. They have a very bad first date. She wants a second chance and promises to be better. John knows Patty from the grocery store he goes to. They get along great and become good friends. I think Carolyn needs a rude awakening and John needs to hook up with Patty.
John is a handsome, caring, and respectful firefighter. He is in his mid thirties and people tell him is is attractive, but he has been unable to find that special someone to settle down with. He sees Carolyn at a bar and is attracted to her physical beauty. Carolyn is a lawyer and is adamant she get her way, in every aspect of her life. She has her sight set on John. John is also talking with the younger cashier, Patty, a cute and bubbly brunette, but just as friends.
We get the perspective of the story from all three of the characters at different times in the story. John is blinded by Carolyn's beauty and disregards all the warning signs of her manipulation. Carolyn is after John for sex and barely able to hid her contempt for him and his job. These are quick reads in a trilogy. Some of the language is stilted.

Caroline was a real piece of work, she was snooty to everyone. I am glad John & Patty were friends. That builds a good relationship. I loved the ending.
