Theresa’s world will never be the same. Struck deaf, she struggles with making her way in a suddenly silent world, turning away from her friends. Her parents are relieved when she finally agrees to learn sign language and to read lips. But will that be enough, or will Theresa continue to isolate herself?
Daniel is not deaf but learned to sign because of deaf family members. He carries a burden of guilt from a past incident. On the urging of his mother, he agrees to teach Theresa to sign.
On the urging of her best friend Mary, Theresa agrees to go to a frolic. But things do not go well there for her. It doesn’t help when Daniel doesn’t support her.
Feeling overwhelmed and embarrassed, Theresa angrily leaves from the frolic. She walks so far into the forest that she loses her way. Alone and afraid, with night falling, things can’t get much worse for Theresa, or can they?
Both Mary and Daniel feel responsible and worried. Can Theresa’s friends find her before something happens to her?
Read AMISH SILENCE to find out….
Amish Silence is a sweet, clean, inspirational Amish romance.
Very well written book about a girl who goes deaf and the struggle of coping with her sudden disability. The romance is nice but wasn't enough, and it wasn't the main focus of the plot.
Short book but very good! The story line was different a little predictable. It still was s good book about overcoming and knowing that we can always find blessings!
