The tournament at the Brownstone has ended. Prince Crisst’s court has celebrated his marriage to Alara Ells, which has brought West-Isle into the fold of House Sand’s influence. Though Syr Westyn and a number of other knights have been gravely wounded, all appears to be well in the Green Straits. Yet Heath has just found out otherwise, as unbeknownst to the rest of the Brownstone a vast fleet of raiders from across the sea has landed on the beach before the castle.
Rope, the second of the three Hourglass Novellas, begins where Blackhand left off, with Heath covered in gore on the shore of the Rock Sea. But the bloodshed has only just begun.
