Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
This was like just too much. This was too mission impossible for my taste. I thought my eyes were going to stay permanently rolled for one moment there. I understand that a good plot needs a little bit of twist. But this was going too far. It was like lets add another layer and then another and at the end it was too damn thick and still there were lose ends. For instance Casey's parents just disappear out of the blue. It was like she had a plot in mind involving Casey's mom but then changed her mind. And that's the overall feeling.
I actually like this. I think this is the first out of the bunch where the mate was taken home to meet the Fam. And a minor skirmish in which Cecil is of course involved.
Take notice of the creepy factor with Casey’s parents showing two faces each to the world. Casey didn’t quite get the full monty of their behavior and that’s not followed up afterwords. I say creepy cus mom all like my baby in a deathtrap car but doesn’t say anything about her husband forcing her youngest to a mobster’s house.
Now, for the big blowup between mates…I totally got the anger and freak out Arizona had about the stripper part of Casey. I just didn’t care for the length of time it takes for him to get his head out of rear. And he wasn’t even at that point when going to rescue his mate.
Lastly, I could have sworn Nevada claimed his mate with both set of teeth, wolf and vampire. IF I am remembering correctly (?) then why didn’t Arizona claim Casey the same way? Only mention was his wolf claiming Casey.
What happened with Casey's parents, especially his dad? Not cool to leave that part hanging.
Cecil needs to grow the eff up already. How old is he, like 50? and still acts like a teenager? Give me a break. I love how Oliver still dresses the same, too.
Love Casey so fucking much. But Arizona is a prick. And honestly what the fuck with all of that prejudice and shit. Strippers and sex workers are not deserving of dignity and respect???? Hate this, do better.

Sweet Cecil is Evil... but Cecil & Oliver is "Double Trouble" really, I missed this all!! all together to fight again those LW... and save Casey n.n Arizona was a asshole, his really deal badly Casey, but at the end, Mate is a Mate... Really, I enjoy very much this story, I'b waiting the others stories!!! and more THANX!!!
I hate Casey. He never apologized for hiding things from Arizona. If it wasn't that big of a deal why hide it at all. The reason that he had was that Arizona would look at him differently, but that meant he was distrustful of Arizona and he had ample time to tell him after Arizona's family found out. Everyone acted as if Arizona's reaction wasn't right and maybe it wasn't, but to find out his mate was purposely hiding things from him. He couldn't trust the guy. He asked him what happened at the brawl and he lied to him. He also lied when he said nothing was going on. Arizona was trusting him with everything and he still didn't trust Arizona enough to come clean to explain things. Just like Paden explained Casey is an anomaly not the norm of how strippers behave. It wasn't that the guy was a stripper it was that he hid it on purpose from his mate and had plenty of chance to talk it over. It is the lying and the high road Casey seemed to take about it, he never apologized.

I abhor that Casey keeps wanting to be close to Arizona, who behaves like a a*hole judgmental pr*K. He doesn't do anything bad and is judged unfairly. He says that has feelings for Casey but doesn't bother to talk about shit. Casey keeps justifying himself, when he didn't do anything wrong? What if he dances for money? What if he sleeps with everything that moves (he doesn't, but not the point) for pleasure or for money, even if he did that Arizona had no ground to judge any action before they meet. Arizona pushes Casey aside, insults him, degrades him, with no motive and doesn't even feel bad about it. I'm seething! At least Casey could make Arizona grovel, but no! He goes and trows away any dignity... Doesn't blame Arizona for hurting him. So what if A had a bad experience with a stripper or two? I had bad relationships with a certain segment of the population and didn't trow them away on the same box.

Just like his brother, Nevada, Arizona isn't looking for a mate
"Committed relationship equaled a death sentence to a guy’s libido. He couldn’t imagine being with the same lover for the rest of his life."
Arizona's statement is so strange since their fathers are happily mated couple. I thought they will be waiting for mates before involved in serious relationship with other people. How come they didn't see how happy their fathers are because they were fated mates. • • Even though Casey only have sex with 2 people in his entire life, it doesn't make me take his side because I'm not a fan of someone who took of their clothes for living. • • This story is hard to believe since Arizona is like not really looking for a mate and then he met his mate and boom! He is changed man. And I can't stand how Casey being tortured by the bad guys. I skip that part and made Casey as broken man who needs counseling. I hate that!

As usual Lynn has written an amazing story. The characters of Casey and Arizona are well written and fully formed. They both have issues they need to be honest with each other about and of course aren't and it blows up in their faces. However the connection you feel between them while reading this made me anxious for them and root for them. Through it all they are wonderful to "watch". My only thought is that I wish we could have seen Arizona's confrontation with Casey's parents. Keeping fingers crossed we will get that in the next book. I belueve we will, as Lynn is sneaky like that. That is why I always enjoy her work. Highly recommed this book.
I liked this book even though it took awhile to get going. Casey and Arizona are a mismatched pair but try to make it work Casey loves his job as a stripper but Arizona has been emotionally burned by strippers in the past so Casey has to keep his job a secret. When everything hits the fan the guys find out love is more important than the little stuff life throws at you.
Good story, just too many gaps. Casey has been a hilarious fixture in a few books already and it was great for him to get his own story. Arizona has baggage that almost destroys his mating. Some of what is missing from the story is what happens between Casey and his parents, what happens with Cresil, and other things like this.
Rating: 3.5 stars I enjoyed this story. I just thought that Arizona was a bit unreasonable in his reactions to finding out what Casey did for a living. I think he knew him well enough by that point to give him the benefit of the doubt. Overall, I enjoyed the story.
