Annie Nicholas hibernates in the rural, green mountains of Vermont where she dreams of different worlds, heroes, and heroines. When spring arrives the stories pour from her, in hopes to share them with the masses one day.
Mother, daughter, wife are some of the hats she happily wears while trudging after her cubs through the hills and dales. The four seasons an inspiration and muse.
Incredible mystery story filled with danger, humor and passion!!
Someone is killing young women in Chicago. When the Vanguard pack is asked to assist with the investigation, they call on a trainee at their boot camp who is blind and whose nose has “superpowers”. Blain isn’t sure what to expect when he is told to pack up and visit the Vanguard pack. One thing he figures out quickly is that the lead investigator Agent Sonya Camp is making his wolf try to claw his way out. Also, an unknown shifter was at the scene of the crime. If a shifter was the killer it could setback shifter-human relations.
As Blain joins the Vanguard pack for the evening he can sense who is shifter or vampire, who lifts weights, who works with delicate items with his hands, and that one of the females is pregnant. This impresses the pack with his skills.
Sonya has worked twice as hard to make it as a woman in the FBI. She became FBI because her sister was abducted and killed similar to the girls in this case. She has to request Blain not “sniff her” in the presence of the team. The district supervisor William, doesn’t like free agents and lets Sonya know he does not approve of her or her tactics. Then police chief calls to say another girl has been taken.
This story provides mystery, danger, humor and passion in this tale of two people trying to find their way in the world and with each other.

A VERY unique spin on shifters!I love Annie's writing. All of it. She takes the age-old idea of a vampire or a werewolf (or any other creature she's written, really) and gives it such a fresh and different perspective. She adds her own variation of humor in there and it just makes for one heck of a great, HOT, incredibly enjoyable story. With her werewolves, this book included, she takes canine qualities and personifies them in such a cool way!I loved the character of Blain. As if it wasn't bad enough that he's a blind werewolf, he encounters an unfortunate situation later on in the story that REALLY had me rooting for him. I loved his protectiveness and his beta-ness!Sonya seemed like the perfect match for Blain. Sometimes, he needed to be led and she didn't mind doing the job. The spark between them was instant and just kept getting hotter! All in all, this whole series just has such an awesome flavor, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here!!!***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I Loved it!! It is book 3 in the Vanguard series and can be read as a stand alone with an awesome HEA. Recommend to all paranormal readers. Blain has been blind since birth, converting to werewolf heals must human issues except birth defects. At the bootcamp he learns how to use his other senses to see with. Sonya is a special agent with the FBI and is looking for a serial killer. Once she meets Blain nothing will ever be the same. Could not put this story down, it takes you on a wonderful adventure with lot of emotions and kicking butt... Happy reading. Looking forward to the next book in the series. :)
Murder, mystery, and danger, oh my. This was a great story. A blind wolf shifter with a great sense of smell is called in to consult for the FBI in a serial killing case. Blain is a great guy with a sad history. But he is not helpless and a big help to the case, and to a female FBI agent with trust issues. Great story and a great romance.
Another fast paced funny read and while I love Pallas, Blain was all it in his book! I admired him for not using his blindness as a weakness because he is one of the strongest wolves in this series, pity that his old pack couldn't see past his inability to see...bunch of douches!
Sonya was okay, a bit annoying with her gung ho attitude but more than made up for it by treating Blain with respect and love instead of feeling sorry for him because of his disability...
When a serial killer starts killing young women, the FBI request help from the Vanguard Elite pack, who send Blain -a blind shifter to help. When he meets Special Agent Sonya Camp, Blain finds his mate. Can they find the missing girl before it is too late?
Come enjoy the suspense, some humor and finding a mate. About choices to make and consequences for wrong ones. Different laws for different species.
Being thrust into the middle of a murder case, Blaine finds himself partnered with his mate! Sexual tension abounds as these two race to save a new victim.
The conflicts these two face as they deal with emotional and physical attraction seems overwhelming at times, but the authors have it all figured out.
This is an exceptional story. I really enjoyed reading it. You will enjoy it best if you read the series in order.
I love Annie Nicholas's take on werewolves amd other supernatural beings. They are flawed, funny, and they find ways to turn setbacks into strength. In this one, a blind werewolf, considered a weakness by his original pack, shines as a super tracker and finds love with a scarred, complicates human Fed!

Another winner. I hope Blaine's old pack realize what a mistake they made getting rid of him. He and Sonya are bringing together the Vanguard and law enforcement to make a difference and perhaps start a new relationship between shifers and humans. I'm ready to jump into the next book.
Enjoy this good read. Vanguard Elite is a great series. This story I really enjoyed. The romance and story is different because it about a blind shifter. Read to find out how a shifter could be blind
Really enjoyed this book a bit different from the other vanguard elite books, as it focuses on blain and reintroduce characters from the vanguard series so it felt like a cross over book.
I really lobe the books from this verse but this one might be my favorite one. Blain and Shopia deserve their own series it would be cool to see them chasing after criminals and to show that humans and paranormal can work together
To be blind doesn't mean to be not as good as all the others, quite the contrary, and blind werewolf Blain shows that very convincingly. I loved his story and directly bought the next book in line.
“Blind Wolf Bluff ” is the third book in the paranormal romance series “Vanguard Elite” by Annie Nicholas . The Werewolves in this series are a bit ‘ different from those which I usually read in books . They aren’t perfect and powerful creatures , on the contrary, they’re a selected group from several different packs, where they are seen as ” losers ” , they’re the weak link in the pack. For this reason has been created a special boot camp for them , hard, selective , under the supervision of a vampire named Pallas , who is responsible to turn them, men and women, in a real asset for the pack they belong . Pallas, in a sense, is their worst nightmare, not because he is cruel to them, but he is uncompromising and his training it’s real tough. He makes live them in extreme conditions ,no comfort and technological means . If they break his rules they’re out , if they don’t pass his tests, they’re ready to go on a bus that will take them home even faster. Despite all of this, no one dares to question his orders , because they know that through this training they could turn into something they would never have been able to hope . Only one of Pallas’ rules failed, as a good vampire he’s: the mating between werewolves once they find their mates, there’s nothing Palls can do about this, he has to give in. “Blind Wolf Bluff ” is different from previous books because it takes place outside of the boot camp . Blain , the protagonist, is a blind wolf, otherso has other skills that make him valuable and the alpha in Chicago asked him to collaborate with humans and the FBI to catch a serial killer . It is an exceptional event , humans don’t like very much supernatural creatures , but they are really at a dead end with the investigation and Blain may be their only hope. In fact, over time, to compensate for his lack of sight , he learned to use his other senses more effectively and his nose is exceptional , even among wolves . I loved Blain from the very first lines of the book , and it’s one of the things I love the most in this writer : she succeeds in giving life to wonderful characters who manage to capture you right away. Despite his disability Blain is sure of himself , of his ability and potential , he wants to make a difference , he wants to be valuable for the pack , he wants to take his place with honor and from The very beginning of the story it soon becomes clear of what he’s made off. Thanks his strong personality he can face the difficulties and the obstacles in his path without shame. Once he meets Sonya , the FBI agent whom will be working , he realizes she is something more than just a partner for work and he makes no secret about it. Sonia is tough woman, her work is a real mission for her, she works hard and she doesn’t do positive relationships with colleagues , she has always to prove she isn’t inferior to anyone , earn their respect even more than she should . But with Blain is different , he’s different . Sonya finds an equal in him, a person with extraordinary abilities , able to understand her and respect her , but she also sees a gorgeous sexy man . The case they face is full of pitfalls , difficult investigation , but together they form a perfect pair . The plot of the story is excellent, written smoothly, compelling, with the right mix between the investigation and Sonya and Blain’s attraction , a session attraction. I love the humour is always present in the dialogues and situations they face , and it’s definitely a plus in this book . Pallas … yes , again him , can you see I have a soft spot for this vampire? In this story there’s also a little time for him and his encounters with a fascinating sheriff who keeps an eye on him and he can’t help himself to tease her… I can’t wait to find out if these continuous bickering will lead to something more . This , at the time , remains the best book of the series , I literally devoured the pages and I hope to read soon another story from this series.
What I enjoyed most about this paranormal shifter book was that it went a little bit of a different direction from a majority of other shifter novellas/novels. More time was spent focusing on the actual plot and mystery versus solely on the relationship and romance of the couple. It kind of reminded me of J.D Robb's books in where you have the romance/relationship of Eve and Roarke, but a majority of the book is spent on solving the crime . Would definitely recommend.
Blind Wolf Bluff is an action packed, attention grabbing, highly entertaining, give me more, read. I absofreakinlutely love the story line, the characters, everything about this story.
This is book 3 of the series but can be read as a stand alone. However, this is a great series and if you have not read book 1 and 2, I suggest you read them as well. This book is all about Blain. We met him in book 1 and 2 and I was so happy to see him get his story and HEA. Blain is a blind wolf but he doesn't let his lack of sight hinder him. His other senses make up for his sightless eyes. He is a force to be reckoned with and won't let anything stand in the way of getting what he wants....and what he wants now is Sonya. She is an FBI agent trying to solve a case involving missing young ladies around the Chicago area. At first, Sonya is not open to the thought of having Blain as a partner, but as things progress in the case, things also progress in their budding relationship.
This book has a bit of suspense, mystery, emotional trauma, but most of all some sweet lil naughty bits....
This has a well written story line, awesome characters that are easy to fall in love with, good descriptions to details and easy to visualize and awesome dialogue between the characters that flows nicely and it's easy to become engrossed in the conversation. It probably should have gone through 1 more editing, being the beta reader that I am, a few things jumped out at me causing me to pause in the reading, but I was able to pick back up rather quickly.
Heck of a combination. A blind werewolf, a federal agent, a hunt for a rogue and a love story all wrapped into one. Now that is something you don't get to read every day.
