A gorgeous erasure; I desperately wish my German was up to the task of reading the other half! Wolf and Hawkey did a beautiful job finding lyrics within lyrics, and book designer Andreas Töpfer did a gorgeous and fascinating job of making the erased spaces into sites of mystery and seeming meaning as well.
I particularly love this tiny piece (the spacing is approximate, mine, and not nearly as lovely as that which is in the text), which seems like a cross between Emily Dickinson and AR Ammons:
